I thought Ødegaard was at the heart of everything good we did in that game.

I like jesus but since him and Zinchenko has come back in the squad we have not looked the same. A striker who cant score and a defender who dissappears and cant defend let that make sense

Fans were not worthy of a 6. Not only did they not provide the vocal support the occasion demanded, many, in fact the majority, left early when we went behind. In addition, the amount of fans late back to their seats after halftime was woeful/embarrassing/unacceptable - there were many empty seats several minutes into the 2nd half.

Ask any united chelsea and spurs fan and they would love to be in our position. Realistically city are the best team in the world and we would win any other league if it didn't had man city in it. I’m sorry, zinchenko a 4? Not one minute of the game did he play well. Constantly gave the ball away. Always out of position. He’s not a LB FULL STOP! Zinchenko deserves a 2 and that’s being very generous. And then Odegaard a 6? Odegaard in the first half was the best player by far. Some of the passes he did was outrageous. Had to be at least a 7. Come on man!

Raya was ridiculous today giving the best rendition of floppy hands. He should have been commanding on the first goal and came to grab it and on the second one no need to sit down. Stay on your legs as Smith Rowe had the direct shot covered. Olly hit it and the reflection from Smith Rowe chipped it over his head. His shot stopping ability is super suspect.

Robbie's himself is marked 2/10 for me! He scored all d players either 5 or 6, despite losing 0-2 at home! So, I wonder what marks he'll award if they won d match????

Odegaard is our best attacking player by far, we need somebody of equal caliber who isn't injured after 60 minutes each game to finish they chances he creates.

Declan Rice isn't a 6, and the trio rotating between left wing/midfield/CF (Trossard/Havertz/Jesus) aren't able to cover up for Rice's flaws as a 6. Partey should have started instead of one in the trio and stayed behind as a proper 6 with Rice going into the 8 role instead. Emi Martinez had some great saves today, but you could see the team wasnt going to win today early in the second half. The first Villa-goal came as no surprise, and lo and behold, Raya shows himself as a liability again .

This is very disappointing ratings from Robbie - we were good in the first half but dropped off. The drop off when our captain was replaced, Odegaard was the “MOTM” by a mile in the first half. He got a couple of knocks.

As for keeper: the second goal is avoidable if he doesn't advance coz ESR is with Watkins and forcing him wide. The only way Watkins scores is thru a lob wit advanced keeper.

When he signed for us there was a clear plan for Zinny to augment the midfield. But now the way we play with Jorginho sitting to release Rice to support Odegaard he’s not needed. Kiwior on paper might not be the most skilled but he allows Gabi to stay central with Saliba and not get exposed with runners in behind. All the creativity comes from White to Saka and we accept that it’s the midfield that brings in the LW not Kiwior. Zinny does not fit the team shape

Odegaard wasn’t the same after getting whacked in the head. We bottled it in the second half and Arteta left things as they were for too long. Our midfield was overwhelmed in that second half. For me putting Jesus up front didn’t help the team today. Villa played well in the second half and they could have easily beat us 0-4 today if only for the woodwork!

I actually break it down to. Arsenal looked so tired playing without energy. It was my first impression of the game. The team looked that they run out of energy right from the start. Looked that they have been eaten heavy food before a run!

I think the team played well in the first half, but ran out of gas in the second. Also the substitutes didn't bring any energy.

Xhaka wins the league the same day we once again bottle it. The ironic thing is we still haven't replaced him. Yes we've got rice who is quality but there is no way anyone can try say that havertz is a lcm midfielder. Never played their for Chelsea so why is he playing their for us. We've needed a goalscoring striker since last January, our number 1 striker plays lw or rw most times and nketiah is a championship striker.

All the ills of today's performance can be laid at the feet of Arteta's selections and substitutions. They were unfortunately emotional and arrogant. He believed that his coaching could override the natural dispositions of players. It was a pre-Dubai team selection with pre-Dubai results (plenty opportunities but an inability to score). As a fanbase we've been very superstitious about what happened in Dubai and how it transformed us. And of course we dont know all the secret sauce tactical, cultural, and psychological interventions used- but it is clear that one major visible transformative pivot was positional- Havertz as the centre forward, the 4 part midfield with Jorghino as base, etc. It is telling that the first game that we reverted to the pre-Dubai shape we got a pre-Dubai performance and result. Cause and effect. Let's learn that lesson quickly! Our flaws against Villa were entirely positional. And those affected individual performance. Im stating the obvious: Havertz should have started as centre forwatd not midfield. Jesus should have come on as a second-half sub- and then to replace Saka. Martinelli needed to start because this match was supposed to be a match for sprinters. Trossard should come on in his best role as high-impact substitute. Jorghino needed to start in the midfield and he and Rice could have alternated roles- on top or sitting deep- during the game according to the workload and to confuse Villa. Tomiyasu should have started over Zinchenko for defensive solidity. We all know what has worked in 2024! By messing with the line-up Arteta messed with the team's flow, and we are at a part of the season when flow is supreme, when muscle memory can serve you well to get over the exhaustion and injury line when you're knackered. Players should get rest by playing only 45- 65 minutes- not by sitting on the bench during their most productive period. A post-Dubai team selection puts away those chances we were presented.. Arteta's unnecessary tinkering derailed the campaign last year pre-City, and he needs to learn the lesson quickly that Frankenstein monsters dont work for title charges!. Let the team be the beautiful Monster that it originally was post-Dubai. Now is not the time to tinker and second guess. Play People in their natural positions!!! There's nothing as tiring as having to act against type- and the team today simply suffered from being miscast... Look, I love Arteta, but today he just got it horribly wrong. The other issue is that it is time we formally designate Unai and Villa at home as bogeys. The reason why this is important is that Arteta and this Arsenal have overcome every single bogey systematically. Lets officially put Unai and Villla on the bogey-destruction whiteboard and execute. Next to Bayern... We can still win everything by beating every team in front of us (and praying that City slip up at least once!)- the Super post-Dubai Team can do that with a cleverly used subs bench.
