Clair doesn't want Hayley to be like how she was when she was young but wants alex to do so wtf, and to have fun to get out there to be having an adventure getting out of your comfort space you don't have to do drinking, partying, spring break stuff, staying up is eh, but there are normal things that won't get you killed or jailed that are fun and you also don't need to be in a relationship and don't need to be having sex
That first "lesson" in this clip from claire is incorrect. If your children are in anyway shape or form are interested in studying/learning like alex is then you are lucky as a parent. Just because the masses or you did it does not mean it is right. Also claire is a stay at home mum and has her daddys money to fall back on. Yes your children will still need to be taught things but to force it down their throat is wrong as they will eventually come to the right answer and even parents do not have all the answers. Also claire had hayley too young. I get it's a comedy show were everything and anything is possible however. IN REAL LIFE it doesn't work out like that.
I understand Claire wanting Alex to have some sort of social life, but she is definitely going about it the wrong way. Instead of tearing her studying away and forcing her on a spring break vacation, she should be encouraging Alex to start study groups with people who have the same level of intelligence as her, or join a book club. It's the best of both worlds. Alex gets social time, and she also gets her scholastic desires met.
