2:30 Yep, I can confirm it's polish. Also by the art style, the (I wanna say anthro beetle with a fox head) character and overall quality, it seems to be a photo of a kids elementary book circa 90s
It also shows some elevation, like huge hills or small mountains, somewhere in the very west of Russia, going from north to south... Does not seem accurate to me!
@@GreycatRademenes he was rather cool. I mean Napoleon just attacked other countries back, after they continued to repeatedly invade and attack France numerous times after revolution... But I do not like that he destroyed republic by making himself an emperor
Exactly what I did. RU-vidrs: stop putting unengaging and generic ads in the middle of the actual video. It breaks the flow of the video a lot. Just place them at the beginning or the end.
Just you wait until the next YT update, which will feature videos that become unskippable once you reach the ad, hide the ad from preview, make the browser tab uncloseable, glue you to your seat and hold your eyelids open with red hot scissors.
I recognize that final map, the nope/10! That's from the 1984 "the Transformers" cartoon, season 2, the episode where the Autobots are supposed to protect this snooty racer and his supercar in a transcontinental race from the Decepticons who want the supercar's engine for some reason; the episode is called "Trans-European Express." The second I saw the map, I paused my TV and I sat there in awe trying to wrap my head around it.
Quote from TFWiki:"One might wonder how much the Transformers' presence on Earth has added to this massive territorial shuffle. Of course, it could just be a particularly poor map... naaaaaah."
3 days ago, while speaking about the chineese virus, the national television in France spoke about thailand, and they showed up a map .... exept it was a map of myanmar with thailand writen on it ....
Im having a hard time imagining how these even happen, why do they label a New map instead of using existing ones, they must have a database of unlabeled Maps just to label Them everytime they are needed and make mistakes in the process
The Baltics United, Borneo is now in one piece, Romania and Bulgaria united and became an empire, India absorbed Bhutan (not mentioned), Guyana and Suriname united, France conquered Benelux, Czechoslovakia reunited, Colombia conquered Central America, I can't even tell what that country is west of the Romanian-Bulgarian Empire, Algeria absorbed Tunisia, Africa is poorly-drawn, Pakistan conquered Iran and became an empire, Austria is big, and Poland annexed Kaliningrad.
Максим Серновський they use this map for a lot of things to zoom in on different countries (and get them wrong). The African laughing plague video shows this and they zoom into a wrongly labeled Thailand.
5:52 I respectfully object, 7/10 is too much for Alsace Lorraine belonging to France at the eve of WWI... Also, Italy has its modern borders with South Tyrol!
I'd say in that image AL is German. It's just that a border with AL being German looks exactly the same as AL being French, except that it shifts a little to the west.
What about Byzantium/Constantinople on the second map? That was such a sting right in the eye, I'd give it a 2 just for putting it around Jerusalem/Damascus (Hard to make out on such a scale)
StellamMartis they also put tyre where Constantinople should be, also the ottomans cut off the Europeans from the Silk Road, and by this point most trade was going around the Horn of Africa, definitely by the hieght of ottoman power around the 16th and 17th centuries, so why is it being used to show the Silk Road?
Tell me, Tigerstar, how do you manage to not fall into despair after witnessing such atrocities? Halfway through the video i found that I had started unconsciously tying a noose around my neck.
AH! That final map is from an episode of The Transformers called Trans Europe Express from 1985. The show was notorious for it's animation errors, and this map is quite good for them in the long run.
I think that's not Jerusalem, but Tyre, since it says Tyre where Constantinople is supposed to be. But yeah, that was the first thing that caught my eye!
Infographics show steals a lot of assets and their videos are poorly researched and they always jump on the bandwagon on anything that’s popular, they are like Kurzgezart but if Kurzgezart barely put any effort of research
@@Vdk758 As a longtime Kurzgesagt subscriber, I protest the comparison. Let's just Kurzgesagt are way better pretty much in every aspect of video making, from animation to choosing topics.
6:55 nah, it should be a 1/10 for again forgetting the low countries. Standard -1 every time they sink the dutch, send them to space, make them part of Germany or randomly show reclaimed land on 'historic' maps.
I like how the Netherlands (and also Belgium and Luxembourg) are just straight-up missing on the weed map. Of all the places, the Netherlands! On a weed map!
The XKCD map just gave me a world building idea where everyone lives on islands that are exactly the same in topology but size shifted and rotated everywhere
France made ultra versailles with annexing everything except a chunk in southeast germany. Bulgaria wasnt bothered and destroyed greeks, also sacked the bosphorus
That last map had me cracking up. I noticed that Luzon island and Taiwan formed a confederation, while the visayan archipelago was incorporated into Indonesia. Meanwhile mindanao and Palawan formed another confederation.
I don't know what's worse, the last map, or the fact that I know exactly where it came from; the Transformers (G1) Season 2, episode 60, "Trans-Europe Express."
1:01 ok... The ottomans never took over spain. They never took over arabia. They never took that much of north africa. My god they let some turk nationalist draw this map.
How did you miss the fact Constantinople, which they have Byzantium in paranthesis for some reason, was put in the Levant while Tyre was where Constantinople is.
2:39 I think you should make some distinctions between maps that claim or atleast should be accurate maps and illustrations of maps that picture was where accuracy is not necessary or required.
2:12 It would be wrong to give it a 6/10. What do they think happened in World War II if Japan was that close? And where do they think North Korea? Or do they think it should be West and East Korea? 0/10. Literal jaw-dropping.
I'd like to point out that for the map at 5:53, Bulgaria briefly held that part of the Balkans down to Constantinople. Those were the borders for ~3 months between the First Balkan war and the Second Balkan war. Clearly they found a map for that period and colored it.
In the 2nd last map Finland also took over Svalbard Russia Conquered the Korean Peninsula The Phillipines are split into 3 Namibia annexed Botswana and... Wait... that logo in the lower left corner Is that... The Infographics show?
also,At 6:20,borneo is controlled fully by indonesia,When the north section is actually owned by malaysia,This also mean that brunei Is completely gone
As a person with a bachelor in geography I know how strict the rules on making proper maps are. I find these videos very painful and funny at the same time, keep them coming I really enjoy watching them.
It looks like the map with the T.V. on it is from a RU-vid channel called Theinfographicsshow. I have no clue what video this map is from, but you can tell it is that channel because of the icon of the channel on the bottom right corner. Good video as always.
In my high school, the map for some reason highlighted Tashkent, The Congo was still called Zaire and Serbia and Montenegro were still attached. I was in high school in the 2010s. At least the WWI maps were accurate if rough around the edges.
