Most of Australias' people were either poor bastards who got sent there for minor crimes or were sent there for the well being of others. I'd rather live in colonial America if you ask me. You can increase the volume of quiet videos by going into your sound control panel and turning on "Loudness equalizer" or in other words compression. This just makes the audio use the whole range of sounds rather than just the hard coded footage audio. Quality is impacted slightly but makes it much easier to hear and doesn't sound awful in most cases.
