We had a guy have the first 9 in league. Transformer tripped the breaker and lights went out, took 45 minutes to get lights back on and get the computers reset. Then he got up like nothing happened and threw 3 perfect strikes to have his first 300

There are two movies like that ... a power cut interrupts perfect game attempt, and bowler told he cannot leave the lane or he forfeits the game, so they camp the lane waiting for the power to be restored. In one, they light the lane dividers with candles. It's pretty much an ancient urban legend.

@garychap8384
@garychap8384 6 лет назад
Idiots. He admits he accidentally reset someone elses lane after their first ball ... so their spare had to be set back up. The engineer went out and put the gate down to set up the spare as requested - and a miscommunication meant that the gate came down on the active lane. THATS why the engineer was there - the bowler had fucked up and called him out to set up a spare on a lane he'd illegally reset. He even admits this himself in the clip, so how the hairy fuck is it sabotage?

Brunswick A2 Pinsetters have what is called a shotgun mechanism that when actually hooked up correctly, when the ball strikes the cushion at the back of the pit, the rake/sweep will dead drop fast like that and not rely on the gears or belts to drive the rake/sweep down

Similarly, I saw some guy going for a 300 game. He got the first 11 strikes. On the 12th shot he crushed the pocket and got a strike. Multiple people saw the 9 pin was missing as his ball was going down the lane, so they had to re-rack and there was a long delay while he was pacing around with his hand wrapped in a towel to keep it warm. He also crushed the 13th shot. Impressive!

My greatest moment of bowling glory came when I was bowling with friends and there was a pin in the gutter. So before a spare shot, i rolled a ball into the gutter to clear it and shot the spare with the sweep coming down after the gutter ball cleared and my spare ball cleared it by a split second. I also converted the spare.

My father from New York was going for a perfect 300 game in some bowling alley in the Carolinas, and while he was waiting for the ball to come back on his last bowl, the owner turned out the lights and said they were closing early. It was about 10 to 15 minutes before they were supposed to close. When they were leaving one of the people watching said that the owner didn't like New Yorkers lol. He's not even one of those typical Brooklyn bronx guys, he's from freaking Long Island.
