At least 150 people, including 35 children, are feared dead in a village massacre in central Sudan, blamed on the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) fighting the army.
Footage from Wednesday's attack show many bodies covered in white cloth, being prepared for burial in Wad al-Nourah, Gezira state.
The video was recorded by activists from a local resistance committee in the neighbourhood which is part of a network of similar groups across the country supporting a return to civilian rule.
The RSF has not responded to the accusations, but on Thursday, they claimed responsibility for attacking two army positions.
Sudan's military government has urged international condemnation of the Wad al-Nourah attack.
The village has reportedly been under siege by the RSF since Wednesday.
Throughout Sudan, the army and RSF continue to battle for control of the country.
The rivals have been battling over control of the country for more than 13 months.
In December, the RSF seized control of Gezira state, located south of the capital, Khartoum. They have been accused of committing numerous abuses against civilians in the region, allegations they deny.
Internet connection has been cut making access to those living in the city difficult.
Meanwhile, intense battles continue between the RSF and military in El Fasher, a city in Darfur in the west of the country.
Across the country, more than 15,000 people are estimated to have been killed since the conflict started in April 2023.
