Just some ideas of items to add to the game I think would be fun. 1: Choose one card from your hand to switch with one from your opponent’s. 2: Take all cards from both hands, shuffle them and give back each player the same amount taken. 3: Replace a card in hand with one from the discard. 4: On this turn only, if you loose a finger, so too does your opponent. 5: Skip a turn. 6: Swap hands. Just some late night thoughts on my end lol. Still, game looks fun🧡😁👍

Kinda reminds me of that one mode in Resident Evil 7.

The computer never drew a joker card as far as I could tell.

The patient/alien/monster/thing is so amazingly creepy. 13:02 - I'd definitely chop off my ring finger first. Then maybe middle finger, then pinky, then thumb, then pointer.

There should be more variations of the patients to inspire empathy when they're forced to sever another finger.

If I had to choose fingers I'd start with the pinky and make my way to the thumb. In this scenario though it would be really freaking hard to cut the pinky side first so I get why it starts at the thumb. Not to mention that you get all your fingers back if you win and die if you lose so it doesn't really matter.

I'm an acoustic guitar teacher and player, so I'd be okay with going for the pinky first, as long as it's my RIGHT pinky. Every finger from my left hand is invaluable to me.

so, basically the game is "Avoid drawing your own death cards for as long as possible (but also good luck if you get 3 or more in your hand at the same time). The fact both get individual decks I think is what skewers this game into pure RNGesus fest unless you have copious amounts of matchboxes or wishbones (the jack in the box is not a bad item either)

I love this game as well. Made it through first time maze and found escape floor and it was so nice when i did. I know this game is permadeath basically. But i think each new maze is gonna be different so it has replay value, which i like.

Boys (and potentially gals) hear me out on this GAME THEORY (shoutout MatPat) that creature you play against looks vaguely humanoid and it cries out in pain after it eats of a finger. What if hes been in this experiment for so long that this limb regrowth serum turn him or her into this wierd looking monster cuz if you look at its neck you can see what looks to be syringes. Have to say that there being no punishment for losing is a rather severe tension killer, but otherwise see a ton of potential in this project. Wouldn't mind more patient variety too, but small teams mean limited ability in some areas. Really cool for what it is.

reminds me of the 21 minigame of resident evil where you play blackjack, but instead of losing money, you lose your own fingers.

The camera in my opinion is really good, the camera should be used in the first hand or when you know you have a lot of death cards (3 or more) especially as with what he said “camera and matchstick combo” is really effective. If your able to have 2 cameras in your inventory if you play statistic’s properly you can and will win majority of the time. Thus the camera being used in the first hand is very important especially paired with matchsticks. Also the pocket knife and pickled snake should be used when you know you might lose and the “patient” has very little fingers left as-well. Making the statistics go in your favour.

the dev should allow you to spare one finger to reset your hand I can imagine maybe when you goto chop your finger off the monster grabs your hand and eats 1 then he angerly tosses your hand off the table and slams cards down with a anger behind it

The cross is a double edged sword since it removes one death card (if there are any) but you still need to pick a card, meaning that it kind of makes you pick 2 cards in 1 round while your opponent still only picks 1. This could be good if when you pick your new hand you don't get any (or just 1 or 2) death cards. But if your new hand has 3 or more death cards then the cross actually screwed you over. Definitely go for the stapler over the cross since the stapler nullifies the effect of a death card.

There needs to be something that assures you play multiple rounds of the card game! I downloaded this game straight after I watched the video, hopped on & beat it 3 times in a row. Each time I got to play the card game 1 time with something like 10 item spots & turned it off because I wasn't actually getting any chances to play the game lol.

with the duplicate items what i noticed is that if you have an open slot then gain a duplicate item it lets you bring both (this is what happened with the cameras at the start) but if you dont have an open slot it doesnt let you bring a duplicate

For a second I generally thought Insym was playing against Sniper's kangaroo wife. Way, way worse

I have a few ideas of what they can add to the game along the lines of what Insym said: Option 1: "When the player or the opponent have only one card in their hand, they can choose to discard it. However, if that card is a joker, that player automatically loses." Discarding a Joker is unlikely because of how much information the death card counter gives, so the punishment should be incredibly severe. Option 2: "If a player has 2 or more cards in their hand, they can choose to discard their entire hand. However, if their hand contained a joker, that player automatically loses." I like this idea better. This is much more likely to happen and makes this system incredibly scary which fits with the theme pretty well. Making it so you can't discard with only one card makes it much harder to abuse the death card counter's information for 100% safe discards as much. It also makes items like the camera that much more powerful. Option 3: Same as Option 2, but also adds "For every Death card(s) discarded using this mechanic, the opponent loses 1 finger." I don't like this one very much. It'd serve as a unga bunga hail mary system that could potentially save the player from certain death, but the reverse is also true, and it'd probably piss people off more than anything. Even with the risk of the Joker, it's too powerful overall. Still thought I'd mention it. I'd be okay with Option 2 reducing the punishment for discarding a joker to losing 2 fingers instead of instant death since the chance of it happening is much higher with that system, but option 3 needs to be instant death because of how powerful the additional death card clause would be. I'd also rework some items. The Cross and the Stapler functionally do the exact same thing. I also really like Insym's idea for the eye.

Reminds me a lot of RE7 Bio with the 21 minigame but made into an actual full game, honestly i feel like with a bit of polish this could become a pretty big game >->

Hi! On what finger u want to chop off first it would be your middle finger. Ur pinky and ring finger provide you grip strength, index finger guidance and thumb helps control everything.

I think it would be pretty smart to discover all board slots around a red battle tile. Don't know yet for sure, but I feel like it's near impossible that there are two red tiles next to each other. Edit: 38:31 was proven otherwise.. well..

So I decided to download the game and give it a try and so far I have hit 5 yellow tiles and a bunch of empty space ones without having to challenge once 😂

It's an old game, but I think you'll enjoy a game called Darkwood. It's a top down survival explorer horror game. I remember watching Markiplier play it awhile ago before I found this channel. I think it'd be an amazing experience.

I think that if they increased the number of Jokers in the deck, it would make the game more choice oriented. For both you and the patients. (I'd even dare to say a full joker deck might make the game way more interesting, but it would have to be playtested tbh)

The eye gives you theability to now one of the openness cards and if you then now he has a death card there was this other item wich have you the ability to force your opening to draw a card of your choosing and so you could make him loose even though you would have lost instead beacause you would have died bevor you opponent draws this single death card

When you win you get turned into one of the creatures, as you’re obviously human at first. Which means all of the creatures you’re going against have won. And then die because they seem to die after losing. Win? No you lost brother.

Maybe if they allow you to "skip your entire hand", but if you run out of cards in your deck you lose immediately Also this is what grimora's game in incscryption would feel like, i guess

Should change the death card counter to update every x amount of time instead of being persistant. That way it stays somewhat a mystery still

This awfully reminds me of the DLC for resident evil 7. i wonder if they took inspiration from there.

This game looks really promising! My only issue is that the game throws too much at you at the start of the game so I had to keep going back to the start of the video to understand it. My best suggestion is to have the game start off with only the card game. Once the player understands the mechanics and beats the first instance of the card game, that's when they get introduced to the map. The first time they find a shop tile, that's when they get introduced to items and the cabinet. I know this is very similar to Inscryption, but I think introducing the mechanics one by one can help ease people into the game. The narrator/TV person can still be the one to explain things.

Fun fact: The pinky finger is responsible for 50% of your strength in that hand. So for all of you saying "chop the pinky off", congrats. You lose half the strength of your hand! The more you know!!!!

if this game had a higher budget, and was aimed towards higher age demographics, this game would be SPECTACULAR! Gore would be an amazing addition.
