DID YOU DISLIKE THE VIDEO? That's fine! We'd love it if you left some constructive feedback in the comments so we can improve for future films. Thanks for watching though!
Mountain North it seemed like there wasn't much substance beyond the jump scare. Maybe I missed something, but it just seemed like a detailing of him coming home and getting killed by an escapee. I was expecting more somehow.
Aaron Carson the idea is that the escapee is playing hide and seek without him knowing which is why she pops up here and there. we’re hoping that is gonna be enough build up for the end scene. in the end there isn’t much substance since it’s a short film - we’ll have to leave that for a feature! thanks for your comment and for watching though!
this one was awesome! the way that murderer was actually a real human being and nothing supernatural happend made me really satisfied about your short film. good job!
Agreed! I'm too old for the supernatural. Besides, some humans have done more horrible things than any monster could ever dream of doing. All best horror movies are psychological. They make you think and use your own imagination. We are naturally afraid of the dark because we can't see, who's there. In my opinion, Jaws was the best horror movie of all time.
I enjoyed the film, but it drives me mad that in Horror movies no one turns their lights on in the house at night. If you are looking for something or someone in your own house you don't stumble around in the dark trying to do it.
Yes but you know your own house, where all the good hiding spots are - so if you have the lights off, you supposedly have the advantage over the one breaking into your house, because you'll know how to navigate it (whereas the home invader won't). The home invader has most likely never been into your house - think how much more difficult it would be for him/her to go around your house _in the dark_
@the goat Sure, but one should nevertheless hide in a way that makes an escape easy - imagine you're crouching, in your closet, then the home invader comes and opens the door to your closet. He/she obviously has the upper hand, cause you're crouched and not in a good position to fight back...
I noticed that all thriller and horror films are in the dark. I don't expect all lights on but if there's too much darkness I tune out completely from anger I refuse to be manipulated in such a stupid way if I can see what's going on I switch channels
Most realistic action scene in any film. John acted just like most people would, in mounting denial of the strange events and ends up like a lot of real people would have. Best short film I have ever seen. Genuinely scary.
thustra07 thank you so so much! that means a lot to us! we really tried to make it feel as genuine as possible - glad it showed! thank you for watching and for the kind words
Wow, thank you so much Jason, that really means a lot to us. We will post our next horror short very soon! We hope you’ll enjoy that one just as much! Thank you once again for watching and commenting Jason!
The eerie, dark and rainy day as a background just adds more suspense to the film. Some of the things I particularly enjoy are the little noises one makes in an empty house. Please keep up the good work. Greetings from México!
In Hitchcock movies the camera guides you through until something happens. The whole approach reminded me of Fatal Attraction and the quiet cinematography of the front of the house before Alex appeared in the bathroom with a knife. Your skills are spot on. Truly well done.
Huge thanks Mark, we’re very humbled to hear that. We’re glad you picked up on details like that, not many people do! Thanks a ton again for watching and stay tuned for another horror short coming soon!
Well done! So suspenseful I could hardly breathe... then, I literally jumped. Excellent that you didn’t have cheap jump-scares or loud, shrieking, pounding music. I think one of the things that got me so engrossed is that I felt like the guy is a nice and gentle man to which no one would want to see harmed. 3:24 - That’s a gorgeous house!
Tina Flintstone We couldn’t be more happy with your feedback Tina, thank you so much! We have actually have another one coming soon, I hope you’ll enjoy that one just as much!
Ok, officially this is the best horror short film i've seen in a long time. The suspense is perfectly handled, the detail level in each frame is admirable, very good acting and the right photography (direction, color, aspect ratio, etcetera). Very good direction! Thank you very much for giving us this awesome short film! Congrats.
We can’t thank you enough for these very kind words! I did try to hide a few secrets/details that a lot of people missed. We’re so happy that you appreciate all the details. We have another horror short coming soon, I’d love to hear your thoughts on that one too! Thanks again for watching!
Huge thanks for the kind words, it really means a lot to us! We’re stoked that you really like the film, we have another horror short coming soon, so stay tuned! Thanks again for watching and commenting!
So the legs dangling from the stairs was awesome. The exterior shots of the home had me looking at all the windows and rooms to see if I saw "the Ghost" in the house. Obviously, I thought it was a ghost. When she ran at him, I jumped out of my seat. This was a well shot short. Nice work team.
I could have written that comment word for word! LOL! Even when I knew she wasn't a ghost, I went back and went over that exterior shot of the house several times convinced I was missing something! If I was...i still am! LMAO!
Thank you so much for the very kind words! We’re really glad to hear that. We didn’t have much equipment nor experience to work with unfortunately. Again, thanks a lot for watching and sharing your thoughts!
7:37 The symbolism by depicting tears overflowing the emotionless eye is sublime, especially within the afterglow of "mandatory" jumpscare imposed on ostensible horror film. That colorless bloodshed -- a phenomenon equivalent to still-growing hairs or nails of the deceased, which is eloquent enough to testify our existence as astride physics and metaphysics -- assures us audience that the man went through an epiphany about the absurdity of life in the nick of small margin btw being stabbed and breathing his last. In that perspective, I'd say even the twofold jumpscare, by the revelation of a mere earthly being as an agent of catastrophe instead of anything in the domain of the paranormal (as apprehended by us audience), contributes in tandem with its contrastively poetic sequel (i.e. the overflowing tears) to the three-dimensional jumpscare with subtle and profound aftertaste, the bluntly cold feel of which is relatable to us contemporaries who live under the shadow of nuclear, climate and singularity crises. The colorless bloodshed, the pearl of symbolism even shines vivid red in our mental image. It surmounts not only the ten-minute long duration, but the menagerie of short horror films with its well-crafted device. Kudos to all involved in the production.
12Damon3 it was hard to see for me. Like I saw it but my eyes just didn’t see it as feet, just background stuff so I missed it. I guess it wasn’t subtle but I missed it my first time
That was really different from the cliche horror movies out there everywhere... No tricks with high sound and no peekaboos.. Just awesome.. Do continue with ur works..
I absolutely agree! It played out very naturally, and because of the lack of stings and building music, the tension doesn't really lull, so it's much more heart pounding! I also love that the information was given after the fact; it made the reveal all the more surprising and frightening. AND the lack of a supernatural element (because I honestly thought there WAS one), really ramped up a rather ordinary night, giving it that unsettling feeling that this truly could happen anywhere and to anyone. It's really refreshing and the shot when it zooms into his face after the shock is absolutely heartbreaking! Spectacular job! 💕 Definitely subscribing!
Felicia Taylor wow! thank you so much for the kind words Felicia! you’ve definitely got exactly what we were trying to portray and that makes us very happy! much appreciated and thank you for watching, commenting and subscribing
I knew that there was someone else 'living' at the house while Gina's away! Dang, that dangerous woman who escaped from the mentally insane ward was just epic and who just happened on by to see the first house to hide and await for her first potential victim. Wow, this film is better than the 'Silence of the Lamb'.
Your comments made my day Anne, I can't thank you enough! What seemed "random" in this short, actually has a reason in a longer story based on this one, that we wrote. But we didn't have the experience nor the budget to shoot the longer version, so this was meant as a "teaser". Hopefully, that story will come to life in the future! Thanks again for the kind words! We're working on a new horror short now that we're excited about, stay tuned! :D
I think that what impacts the most is how they show you that it goes through the house that is giant compared to a single person giving a feeling of loneliness.
I loved this. I really enjoyed the ending as I felt it was going to be a ghost or something demonic. The twist at the end was great and your camera shots were done so beautifully!! Loved it!!
To be honest. I was about to say what the hell is this crap, and then BAM! I really like how you drew me in with this guys seemingly mundane evening; only to amp. You know what? Actually I'm not going to say anymore. I don't want to ruin it for anyone else watching it. If you read comments first. YOU GUYS NEED TO WATCH THIS! Nuff said lol
Davo gifman Thank you so much for the very kind feedback! That’s exactly what we aimed for, building it up towards the end. Thanks for watching my friend!
This is legit one of my biggest fears. That’s why I never leave my doors unlocked. This was a great short movie you guys! It gave me chills the entire time and was definitely not expecting her to run around the corner with a knife. I jumped 5 feet off my bed 😂. Keep up the good work!!! 👏🏻
Omgoodness this was a really good one. I didn't expect that at the end. But no. Definitely DO NOT leave the doors unlocked no matter how great your neighborhood is.
this short film was so well done! the camera transitions were incredible, and the whole setting/ambience was very enticing and creepy. keep up the filming!
Mountain North sounds great!!! I shared with my family and my dad was genuinely terrified from it! He’s alright now, haha! awaiting more films and definitely am subscribing!
BRUH I THINK I BLACKED OUT WHEN SHE RAN AROUND THE CORNER LMAO (Great film btw! You know a horror movie is good if your audience almost dies while watching it)
It looked like a guy set up a security camera for half of it. Not sure what you’re talking about... have you seen T2? Thats production quality. These are autistic millennials with a camera. How much tone can one try to set? Also sad that it wasn’t a monster. What human does this?
I really the think the best criticism here is that you made a film when you should have been working at burger king.... Ive seen this a thousand times from a thousand different people. Maybe some like it...’ but it just makes no sense
raini rodriguez stan thank you so much Raini! one of us were in front of the camera and one was behind it so we appreciate that a ton! thanks for watching :-)
This film did throw me for a loop. I usually can predict what the ending is. I couldn't on this one. Great stuff guys! The acting was also nice. Subbed and thumbs way up.
6:48😲😲😲 she was standing right behind him!! It creeped me out! Sometimes you can give people goosebumps without actually pointing out the ghost with music....like it is just a normal background! Even the hanging feet were very naturally shown...I liked it. Keep it up!
I like that at times you can see what might be someone doing something in the background, like just a part, but there's no music cue. Once I saw one, I was looking anytime there was a wide shot to see if there was anything to see. Makes me wonder what I'll catch on a second viewing.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, I very much loved the subtle scares of her, it gives the illusion of that there might be something there or there may not be and maybe some people wont even pick up on them. Simple yet effective! That jumpscare actually got me, thank god it wasn't a fake one! Really great production values and style all around!
GamerMovieDude thank you so much! love to hear more in depth what people like about it to see if we’ve conveyed the feeling we intended to, so very much appreciated! thanks for watching :-)
Holy 💩 I have been binging on horror movies here since our mandated Stay at Home quarantine. This little 9 min gem scared me WAY MORE than any of them so far 😱😱😱 Ain’t no way Imma live in this size house with no security system monitoring 24/7 while I’m alone! Nope!
Thank you sooo much Del! We're so happy to hear that, it means a lot to us! I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy during these difficult times!
Daaaaamn I really thought it was a ghost because of the way the electrical things were coming on seemingly by themselves, ya got me lol. So happy RU-vid recommended you this is a masterpiece keep up the amazing work
SOLDIER! wat are you doing in comments? Get back to full screen.... There are legs hanging from rooftop. U only notice if ur in fullscreen mode.. so get back soldier!!
Very well done! I've always thought that we humans are a lot scarier than the supernatural. ( when was the last time that there was a ghost, goblin or evil spirit on trial for murder? ) The house, ( inside and out ) was awesome. My eyes couldn't help admiring every aspect of it and that's why I caught every lil nuance ie feet hanging, chic standing behind him. So when she pounced on him out of nowhere, I was still caught off guard. Thought he would win the fight. 😔 😢 😢 And to see the tears trickle out the corner of his eyes, call back from Gina. Especially sad.
Thanks a lot Ty for the kind words! Really glad you liked it and caught some of the details! I guess he was caught just as off guard as you 😄 Thanks again for watching and commenting!
it was just too random. there was no set up, just... "why won't you play with me." That didn't even make any sense. he was never even asked to play. plus, ..he was technically seeking. it startled me, but it felt more akin to a jump scare.
jax parra thanks for your comment! in our opinion it’s a set up from the moment he walks into the door. how would you have set it up? as far as her not asking, well, she’s a mental patient, they don’t always think straight! thanks for the feedback and for watching though!
So immediately, what I noticed is that you tried to put as much in the scene as possible to tell a story through your cinematography but you don't actually answer any questions, just throw more things for us to think about. Why was he staying there? Why did he not notice that Gina probably wouldn't have left the tv on? Why couldn't he hear someone moving around in the house? Was that the patient moving through the bushes in the beginning? How did she catch up with his car? Why did she pick that house? Most importantly what kind of psychopath takes a bowl of emptied cereal up the stairs while looking for an intruder or looking for a strange noise? The shots that were taking were beautiful but I think you focused more on showing off your framing skills and your transition shots rather than putting together a tight narrative.
Ty Young That’s the thing with a short film, you can’t put all of that in it, it’s too much to cover in under 10 minutes. We would have loved to be more elaborate as to why she picked that house and all that and we do have a proper back story for a potential feature, but when doing a short we feel like you have to tell as little as possible, but even so I feel like we told a lot more than many shorts out there, with the TV announcement in the end for example. to answer your questions: he stayed there because he lived there. he obviously wasn’t worried about the TV since Gina left in a hurry leaving lights on and everything. he didn’t hear her cause she was playing hide and seek and moved quietly. yes it was her in the bush and she didn’t catch up with the car, she was closer to the house than he was. he went upstairs to see if something was wrong with the light, he wasn’t looking for an intruder since there’s no reason there should be one. I feel like all these answers are there if you just focus a little and think about it - while I do appreciate your comment it feels like you’ve focused on the wrong things throughout the film. but thanks for watching and taking the time to comment
@@TheBugPen Just the thing is the movie isn't for us to have to truly think that hard into. I was just showing you examples. Maybe instead of her just showing up at the house she could have been living in the attic since she escaped, or some secluded spot. In a big house like that I'm going to bet you can hear creaking in the halls when someone farts. Mis-en-scene is important and I just felt like it wasn't a strong enough product to catch me. I watched with a friend and we both had the same problem just to look in the comments and see people have the same problem. Also I still need an explanation on why he would carry the cereal bowl upstairs?!
@@TheBugPen Also you don't have to tell less of the story you just need to sell a package in a short amount of time. As a synopsis; Woman escapes from psych ward/ hides in old childhood house bought by the lead couple/ He goes through the same stuff through the night. Keep some of the transitions but kick out a lot of that filler and you can still end it the same because that was probably the strongest part. Although I hate that finishing line it just sounds......cheesy. Like someone tried to make it off-putting and weird. I'm not trying to shit on it just give out constructive criticism
👍 YES! I loved it! Matter of fact I jumped a few times! Once when he went in the bathroom to wash his hands and a couple more times i don't remember LMBO i think it had something to do with the camera shots that spooked me but i love being spooked! I also like the idea of the female lunatic running around his house playing hide & go seek with the guy, it was a good short film! 👏👏👏👏 BRAVO! BRAVO!
The nighttime exterior shot didn't convince me. But you did a great job in the scene of murder. It's PERFECT! The mirror, the scream, the suond... great.
I simply loved the house you've filmed this in! Also the whole atmosphere right from the start to finish has a cold grey feel to it that I love! Not just eerie, but just so cold and grey.
when i noticed the foot dangling from the stairs i literally said “HECK NAH, THERE IS LITERALLY A FREAKIN FOOT HANGING FROM THE STAIRS” 😭🦶 but anyway , this was a very very well done short film ! i personally enjoyed this , perfect amount of ‘jump scares’ , perfect amount of suspense , i loved how she was made to sing a ‘lullaby’ and i love how the scariness was brought in by her dangling her feet from the stairs ! ❤️
I loved it. The reason is that it had a such a surprising end to the story. Though, I would never even leave keys under the mat or leave the door open to anyone. I can see this actually happening to someone, so it had a realistic storyline to me. I love the house. It was huge and it had all these winding around to one room to another room. That was great. I liked the part where he left a tear for his love one because he knew she was next and there was nothing he could do about it.
antionette wardell We couldn’t be more happy with your kind words Antionette! Thank you so much! We love that you noticed a lot of our thoughts and smaller details! We have another one coming soon, we would love to hear your thoughts about that one too! Thanks again Antionette!
antionette wardell that was a deep thought. You saw his tear and you even think it was for his girlfriend. I thought that tear was due to pain and for the last breath
This is the first horror film to make me scream in SO long, I have become so immune to traditional horror scares and have figured out how to tell between the real jumpscares and the fakeouts. But THIS had the perfect amount of build up, to convince viewers that it was going to be more of an aesthetic scare and then comes at you on all cylinders with that scare. Brilliant film, you earned a subscriber
I thought this was very competently done; I sh*t myself at the appropriate moments. Some people are commenting that the scenes where he's just walking about are 'boring' but these are what make the film so terrifying. I too have been just pottering about at home today; I could easily relate to the protagonist and find the thought of this actually happening quite scary. The sound and lighting are really professionally executed. Good work!
Okay this was great, I like the way it was shot. The feet dangling lol, what a subtle creepy moment. The lights flicking on and off in the room. Loved it!
It was an amazing short film. Great quality! Built up the suspense really well and the payoff was FABULOUS. Loved the camera work. Excellent. 5 stars! TERRIFYING!
Grattis till reklamen grabbar!! Fortsätt med det ni gör för ni är såååå grymma!! Älskar denna film och alla små detaljer som man måste spana efter!! Ha en bra dag nu!!🎉🥰❤️
This little film succeeded in everything the highest grossing Hollywood horror films failed to produce.. its so well made and your techniques used in certain scenes, redirecting the watcher and hiding the scares in plain site, from the second he steps in the house there's so much creepy tension right to the end which makes the climactic jump scare so pants shittingly effective, it not only made me jump but gave me insane goosebumps like my fucking spidey-sense was tingling.. Subbed👍🏼
We’re so humbled to hear this Tyler, honestly means a ton for us, thank you! So pumped to hear you noticing all these details, so motivating! We have more horror shorts coming! Huge thanks again my man!
This was so awesome! There was so much tension, and the buildup was amazing. The ending was great! Thanks so much for scaring the crap out of me. Please make more films.
What a wonderful short film. Great job team! Creeped me out every time the camera traveled to a reflecting surface ( like the mirrors, fridge doors etc). Here after watching filmi craft review !😎
Fantastic film, well done. Very suspenseful and twisted. What I dislike about the video is the fact that we make mental illnesses a type of horror. Portraying the mental as an evil presence. People like this have gone or have been through their own trials and tribulations. Making them the monster puts them in a negative limelight, and causes some people to become afraid. A “mental illness,” is a re ordering of the brain, it’s the brains way of processing a tragedy. To make this become a horror flick about a crazed mental women, doesn’t make people very comfortable. Now this is just an opinion and I do not mean too offend or degrade anyone here in the comment section. It’s just a thought I felt close to. Again very well done, the suspense was eerie and I enjoyed the cinematography! Very horrific!
thank you for your words! we’re glad you liked the film :-) we see your point for sure and we also think that’s very important. I won’t give you a whole explanation or excuse for it, I think you know the appeal of making a horror based on a mental patient so there’s no need - but we hear you and we appreciate your concern! thanks for watching and giving us positive feedback while also respectfully giving us the negative one!
