Maybe it was one of the spirits of the dead engines who said that to him! It is grateful that Henry was not subject to the spell of the haunted tenders!
That was the most scariest story I have ever heard. The fact how James, Donald, and Douglas were possessed by the ghosts of the engines of the tenders that use to belong to them.
I never stopped to think where Duck was able to obtain Six Old Tenders. And not only did I know where he got them from... I now know why they aren't seen in the background anymore.
I have to say, this was a really good and spooky story. Taking some of the most obscure pieces of railway stock in the show and making a story out of them was a really good and innovative idea. Who would've thought that those 6 boiler sludge filled tenders that used as a trick, were haunted by their original engines. This HOTR story has to be my favourite.
I've been watching this nonstop all weekend, and have never heard anything like it before! I really hope someone does an animated version of this soon. I especially want to see what James and the Twins look like when they're possessed!
This literally sent chills down my spine. Hearing James and the twins being 'possessed' was beyond horrific. Makes you wonder if any other engines used the other 3 tenders...
I think those old tenders belonged to some Six LNER Engines I think they might a LNER Gresley Class A1 and A3 Pacific’s or may be a LNER/BR Thompson B1 and B2 or a Thompson Class K5
@@DavidMackenzieChannelLi My headcanon is that they belonged to six evil engines who were executed by being scrapped and carry on their engine's sprits
Im just imagining in their heads they were screaming for help, but since they couldn't control themselves during the day, they had a moment of true "i have no mouth but i must scream" moments
I love these kinds of stories, that take a plot device from a single story and really expand upon its origins. James' change was rather amusing (he became the exact opposite of his normal self), while Douglas' was just rather odd (a tough Scottish goods engine suddenly acting like a timid child). But Donald's transformation was truly disturbing, as it took his main character flaw (his short temper) to a violent extreme. The engine who originally owned that tender... sounds very much like 98462. All in all, really great story!
This story was so good... And even very disturbing, I was at the edge of my seat when James and the twins were screaming during the rain scene. Who cares if Victor Tanzig didn't voice Donald and Douglas, I actually thought the new VA did a great job at the screaming during said scene. This is a very impressive take on what happens to tenders that once belonged to scrapped engines
The Restless souls of the dead engines must’ve been confined to their tenders. My guess is that they wanted to break free and make peace. That or they wanted a second chance to live again and had to possess an engine who has one of their tenders to do so.
What Classes are the Ghost Engines are they LNER Gresley Engines or LNER Thompson Engines or are they LNER Holden Engines or are they LNER Peppercorn Engines
But in some dark nights, when the fog is thick, at the scrapyard, from time to time you can see an old engine, searching for their tenders, at the date of their deadly accidents. Nice story! 👍👍👍
Could've sworn I heard elements of _Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde_ in this story. Especially when James and the Scottish twins looked like they transformed into different engines during the night. Nice way to write a scary origin for those tenders. Wonder why they didn't affect Henry before...
Wow. This story sure was spooky, but it was great to know the dark and terrifying origins of those tenders that Duck tricked Henry into taking as a joke. And seeing James, Donald and Douglas being possessed by the ghosts of the engines who once owned those tenders really sent me chills. I love it.
A brilliant halloween story, and also gave me a chill down my spine (mainly at the part where James and the Scottish Twins were possessed with one of the six tenders). Still, it's great to hear more in depth about the tenders (as only seen in Tenders for Henry).
Wow, this was amazing! I am continually impressed by your writing, the atmosphere you create through your narration, description of the scenes, plus excellent use of music and sfx makes this SUCH an immersive experience. I love scary stories where the characters actually recognize and accept the supernatural halfway through. You actually took this to its logical conclusion; everyone started taking it seriously, to the point of decoupling James and the twins, and putting a truck between Henry and the tenders. There's actual logic to how these things work, and I love that. You nailed every character in this. The idea of Duck hiding these six tenders on his line for years in shame and guilt... I could so see him doing that. A true Thomas horror story. It got REALLY freaky, especially when the three engines flickered into existence, jeez... But at the end, everyone makes it out intact. Best of both worlds. Perfect ending too, Henry and TFC watching the tenders get cut up, has a very similar feeling to the end of Rusty and the Boulder. Anyway, amazing story! I watched The Truth About Scrap too, and loved it!
My Word, this was a brilliant story for Halloween, I’m still having chills- you really did amazing especially with the music selection. Can’t wait to see more! It certainly shows how you can take a simple aspect like Tenders for Henry and play with it so much in a really dark manner
Those Old Tenders look like they came from six LNER engines. I think those tenders are from LNER Gresley Class A1 and A3 Pacific’s or LNER Gresley Class K2,K3 & K4 Moguls or GNR Gresley Class O1 and O2 Consolidation’s Or LNER Class O4 (Ex ROD 2-8-0) or LNER Gresley Class B17 Ten Wheelers or LNER Thompson Class B1 or B2 Ten Wheeler’s or may be a LNER Thompson Class K5 and K1 Moguls.
Excellent story! I never thought I'd never see the day where someone spun a yarn about haunted tenders and possessed engines! I'd even say you managed to out-scary the B-class Bullies' "End of the Line".
A scary thought I had by the end was what if edward or gordon had gotten one of those tenders. It would have been much worse situation I feel, and henry would be less likely to forgive duck
The personalities of the lost engines really show during the time they possess the others. It really makes you feel for them, even more. Particularly the anxious engine who took over Douglas, or the hardworking engine who possessed James.
I commented on The Truth about Scrap and said that could possibly be one to adapt into Trainz, This could be another one. If I recall I said that we might find out who the tenders belonged to and in a sense was right in a way.
James might have the soul of a kindness engine. Donald might have had the soul of a pride engine (One of the sins) Douglas might have had the soul of a fearful engine.
Something I realized upon my most recent rewatch is that the tenders James Donald and Douglas guy belong to engines that had personalities that were the opposite of what the engines who were possessed have James: prideful -> willing to work Donald: polite -> arrogant Douglas: brave -> scared
It's been two years, and this story remains one of my favorite Thomas Halloween stories. I applaud your narration of it, but I have to give props to Andrew Boyd, for having taken such ordinary objects as tenders and spin them into something as sinister as this.
Even though I would have liked to see what would happen if any other engines took the other 3 engines and there were no names given for those six engines kudos to your narration and everyone who took apart as when James all of a sudden got possessed I honestly got a shock especially with the change in Donald’s behavior can’t wait for the last 3 stories
Evan Clarke Maybe Thomas Percy or Edward should have gotten Edward could have became rude and selfish unlike his character Thomas could be respectful of everyone and not be cheeky and Percy could be pessimistic c and worrisome
@@achindrajayasuriya9292 But Neville might've become harsher, Emily might've become more timid and Molly might've started telling all the other engines yellow is the only suitable colour for a train
Posession has similar symptoms to what german philosiphers noted as “multiple personality disorder”. One will exhibit changes such as strength and behavior.
I think there’s something far worse that now happened. They’re cutting those tenders up... so either they’re setting the souls free... Or their souls are being mixed up with the other metals... So we could be seeing more occurrences of these engines, bits of souls scattered everywhere...
Six Lovely Tenders that Posses you That was a Scary story to be tell but their more story coming soon and this story might be the scares story I have ever heard I mean I didn't know that the 6 tenders Posses you if you have them but I'm very glad their scarped and the Engine are back to Normal I think this story is More scarier then Something in the Mines from last Halloween in 2019.
It's nearly 2021. And this story never ceases to amaze me. I think it's a great testament to the dangers a prank can potentially lead to. By the way, are you and Andrew a fan of Goosebumps? Because this definitely sounds reminiscent of R.L. Stine's brand of lore.
The engines being possessed. That's just creepy as all heck. James' was amusing to say the least, but both twins were just disturbing. Douglas is scared of anything that moves and Donald... dang, I wouldn't want to be near the engine that had THAT tender originally. Poor engines. I'm shocked they don't remember any of that. Makes me wonder what the other three tenders would have done.
i have a theory about the other 3 tenders: tender 1: express engine thats like gordon and edward's personalities meshed together tender 2: gordon but instead of express its trucks tender 3: 98462 personality. definetely would NOT want to get near this one
I've come to a rather scary realization: if those six tenders came from six engines who perished in different accidents, what does that say about how well British Railways was taking of its engines and its trackage back in the 1950s?
Quite a creepy story. Possessed engines? Talk about going really supernatural. One thing puzzles me though. If the tenders were possessed, why didn't Henry experience any of this himself when he pulled them?
@@eslm-studios2996 It was in part inspired by my fondness for horror involving possession, but also an idea for where those tenders Duck had came from and why we never saw them again.
Here's just one more thought: sometimes James hasn't moaned when it comes to pulling trucks. In both 'Henry and the Elephant' and 'Percy, James and the Fruitful Day' it excited him.
@@scifiguy9000 That's true. Also does that mean James would be happy to pull a grain train? Grain isn't really stinky, but it probably is dusty. I don't know whether he likes pulling tar trains either. And there are some engines like Arthur and Salty who enjoy the smell of fish, eh?
And in 'Thomas and the Circus' he offered to take some of Thomas's trucks if he needed help and 'James Goes Too Far' he was excited to pull coal trucks of all things
hmmm im assuming that those three tenders that james donald and douglas use belong to a goods engine,a express pasenger engine and maybe just maybe theo i know it dosent make sense but it seem to be a nervest one like theo when he had that gem in him
wow I've played this almost 15 times and it still makes me rethink of the Episode Tenders for Heavy. Could the story happined in both RWS and TV? then agina anything is possible. Realy brings out the Rubik's cube aspect.
In my humble opinion since Splodge, Arry and Bert are pigs, surely they could've taken the tenders to the rubbish dump. Henry got humbled a lot in this episode. This was dark but enjoyable. (Nevertheless since I'm Seventh Day Adventist I don't believe in halloween.)
