That chestnut gelding who needed the eye enucleation looks like a Morgan. And he looks like he's been well loved. He's a little cutie. I wasn't keen on how Caleb chased the horse around the round pen. And kept hitting it with the reins to get it to move. And he is heavy-handed when turning. He looked very rushed. Of course, he could have just been nervous in front of everybody, too. Hailey took a much calmer approach. Her horse didn't look like it was running away from her, but rather, moving away in a calm manner. Thank you all for everything you do for ALL animals.
I agree Kaleb has a somewhat hectic energy. Hopefully he finds more time to spend at Horse Plus and picks up more and more from Cory and takes on some of his more chill handling methods. He can get it csomed down, especially watching video playback might help.
I agree about that chestnut gelding. When I first saw him I thought, that's a classic Morgan. I hope he recovers quickly and finds a wonderful forever home soon. 💙
I am so thankful for all that you all do! God vless you all. If i was younger or was able to do my life over, it would be to work with all of you to save these poor souls!
I remember being so angry when you were kicked out of the auction. They say things happen for a reason and it seems the buyout program is working very well.😊 Great job!
I agree. Much better now. And they don't have to drive for hours, work their butts off, spend money to stay in the hotel, get up early, get right back to work, and drive hours to get home. And in all kinds of weather. Now they stay at the facility and help even more horses.
My thoughts exactly, they can rescue more horses, have them delivered straight to their facility and with more help and 2 vets they are doing much better in all ways in this situation!
I was surprised how friendly and healthy looking they were. I've been on large surrender and seizure cases with cats, and it's definitely not the norm. I commend the owner for doing such a good job and acknowledging they needed help.
THANK YOU to the owners of the pig for keeping Horse Plus in their thoughts for items they can use so they can keep that cost for helping more animals! Be Blessed, always for your wonderful caring natures and again thank you ever so much!
It just lost its home. Owners were moving. Then a trailer ride to strange place. I’m sure that’s depressing for any animal. But she is in great hands and hopefully find a home with pig friends.
Everyone is doing a great job with the influx of horses. You can tell Dr. Lydia is over the moon with the new ultrasound. Thank you so much to the person who facilitated the procurement of that technology. It gives the vets a vast amount of knowledge on varioys issies witj the horses so they can make faster decisions on what to do with the horses that needed faster care. Thank you again. Your donation is invaluable.
I love to see Drs Gina and Lydia working together I hope you all keep up the good work. I love watching this I have donated a red horse scratcher and a lead rope as well as I donated $100 AUS
I am so pleased that the buy out programme has been so successful. As a horse owner I love learning from the vets, for some horses it’s the first time they’ve had conditions diagnosed/treated, there’s no doubt where the funds are going
That little gelding who needed the enuculation is just Gorgeous!!! Such a pretty face 😊❤😊❤ And nice conformation. He just seems so Sweet. And Mercy?!? Top, Classic, Show Pony!!!
Very interesting to see all that cutting edge technology at work….and thanks to the donors again to help provide best medical care for these neglected souls….
If you watch the almost live buyout videos you can see more of the horses they rescue. It’s nice to see some of the other things they do around the place along with the intake days
In the 21st century this is truly sickening, especially from a super rich country. I'm in the UK where there is no live transport of horses for slaughter. Animals suffering in this condition would not be allowed entry to an auction. We have welfare inspectors at auction entry points. Our animals are passported and microchipped by law. Get a grip USA.
The problem is, people that should oversee these things to protect the animals probably get paid to well to do the right thing. The good thing is, after being banned from auction, Horse Plus is able to save more horses through the buyout program. Especially ones with broken legs etc. it's sad that former owners can't spend the money to have the poor horses that need to be euthanized, and euthanize them. But Amish people are like that. That's usually where the big draft horses come from. Then you have what's called backyard breeders who breed horses or ponies, not caring about confirmation issues.@@kimsutherland977
OMG..those beautiful horses suffering with their legs...who can anyone think that its ok for a horse to be like that ...THANK YOU HPHS for all you do for these guys 💔
These horses are so cute they dont deserve the type of treatment they get I don’t even know how they get into that condition it is so sad I’m glad that you are here to help them.
Dr Lydia makes things that I don’t understand and really not interested in - interesting and speaks in ways I can understand and that in turn will make me a better horse owner in the future. And I love how passionate and excited she is about what she does and able to do !! Plus I’m very excited about Sapphires progress. I was very worried about her and I’m sure Dr Lydia saved her life !!! So awesome ! ❤️🐴
The excitement of the vets over the ultrasound was great! I loved the ultrasound footage of the pregnancy, seeing the developing foals heartbeat was so special! 💜
I love watching vet Gina blossoming, and growing in in confidence under the partnership of vet Lydia. She is coming into her own big time, and, her beauty is shining thro, what a brilliant partnership ❤❤❤❤ 🎉🎉🎉
Love the updates on the intakes. Could you please show the photo taken of the ones you talk about. I love the intakes also but it's hard to remember who is who. Bless you all.
My dog (chow chow) had a stroke last week and I 54:17 asked the vet to euthanize him. As she was doing the procedure, I referred to it as the provision of the last act of kindness for him. She cried when I said that.😢
Shows have changed snd mostly for the better ! I do hope the biggest change would be the law changed in Washington to stop the slaughter of horses ! I have about 350 friends on Facebook and I send them info and what you do and what happens to these horses and the help you gave to support many of the other horse rescues in our country . This organization for the dream of two people husband and wife have done this because of your love of horses are other mistreated animals . What a bunch of wonderful caring people you all are !
Dr. Lydia! Irregardless is not a real word! The sentences, "We took in sixteen...yesterday. We took in a lot of horses yesterday," had me cracking up, LOL. Thank you for all that you do for these animals. I am excited to see how excited you all are for the new equipment. Awesome donor!
I'm real happy for those who donate for the cause. I'm an old broke widow woman and can't do that, but I sure can like button, and comment from time to time. Have been a horse lover all my life it was the first word I said when I was little, "HORSE❣️" KEEP DOING THE GOOD WORK❤❤❤✨
Hi everyone!! God bless you all, I hope one day that I can come and learn from you all just about horses and rescue ect… also possibly get a new horse here at some point…
I did try to be a vet tech, but the sad was too much for me, so I went into dog training and rescue. I did dog rescue via the Flat coated retriever Society of America, and ended up being the National coordinator for 5 years. It was hard. As a small population breed, we were lucky enough to have less than you have to deal with. I had to go to shelters and look at dogs who were identified as flat coats as shelter staff who were indeed not. I had to learn to look to not look them in the eye, or any dog when I walked through the shelter. Once I passed that position on to another person, I did not stop. We took in 40 Katrina dogs and I ended up with 5 in my van. The I heard a cough. By the time we got home they were all coughing. Thankfully Weim rescue took the lovely sweet chubby weim, and I ended up with 3 sick dogs quarantined in my home. All vet care was via donation from our fundraiser, and our local contact with vets. We had two with heartworm, and extreme weight loss. One was a lovely sweet pit who unfortunately was a cat killer so after she was cleared she went to a responsible home. Another with heartworm also had demodex, and was half his normal weight, so I kept him in my home. He had issues with food and toy aggression which were rather easily overcome once he knew I was the boss bitch and he would always have food and chewies. One day down the road when he was still with me I heard a noise through the wall I could not identify. I went into the adjoining room and found him burying bones and chewies in the back of a closet. It was hilarious. He was a good boy. He went to live with my daughter's family. That was in 2005, so I know all those dogs are passed on now, but they will never leave my heart.
You'd think that the stream of abused horses would be abating by now. It's criminal that there is such a steady flow. Where are these horses coming from? What a statement on the underbelly of the American horse.
❤️🐴 Also- was NOT impressed on Caleb continuing hitting that horse with the reins !! Not at all !!!
What a great episode from start to finish! I am very grateful you are putting out so much content - and just came from watching the full horse competition. Very touching! 😊
Someone needs to teach some of the others how to administer shots. I cringe when some of them give them. Yikes!! If that poor Belgian with the bad knee was a TB Broodmare she would have been kept and bred. So sad. Glad your ultra sound is working out great!! 😃👍👍 I hate to hear a mare is pregnant but I am glad that she didn't go on to slaughter and her baby has a chance to be born and in safety. Thank you for what you do.
It wasn't shown in the episode, though it was shown in the Members' almost live intake, but one of the reasons they were preg-checking that mare that turned out to be pregnant was because she had a relatively large udder, large enough they thought that she was close to foaling or had just been separated from a foal. So that could mean that even though she's only 5, this might be her second foal. Sad to think, but so happy that she has found her way to Horse Plus.
Hi I would like to know when are the videos going to be uploaded on the vet page, as none have been uploaded for about a month, I have been checking every day. And no videos 😢😢😢😢😢 very sad as I love watching them. As I work on a horse yard so I find them very interesting and very valuable
It being hearted didn’t really help much guys, I would like to know when the videos are going to be uploaded on to the vet channel as they are not showing on there!!!
I don't understand, where is the American equivalent of the RSPCA? Why aren't the abusers being held accountable and prosecuted. This is cruelty in the extreme and I am lost to know why it is tolerated.
Imagine your 🎄 in July, but in December with 40+ºc well that is us over here in Australia 🇦🇺 Our purpose for having 🎄 in July is because that's our midwinter 😅😅🎉❤
I think Caleb was a bit aggressive in his training, just my opinion… mercy’s trainer was very calm and did amazing, love dr. Lydia and the whole team 🩷
To the vet's - first of all ur amazing! wanted to ask if u guy's already r doing this or even can?.... have u ever saved a horses skull or other bones for ur education center? I know this might be difficult todo but it might helpful to have a visual of some injuries ect... for ppl in Washington, students or just anyone who comes there to see that kind of visual representation of injuries or even more rare bone abnormalities. I just thought sence u guy's receive such an array of horses, with all kinds of problems, that unfortunately need the last act of kindness... it might be a unique way to involve any local taxidermy or any students and also honor the horses life by spreading awareness of these conditions. Of course i know that this can't be done with every horse but maybe unique or extreme cases. Just a thought and ? Love u all! ❤
Also I would love to talk to you guys about the laws in pa and to see if there is anything I can do to help prevent the lady from ever flipping horses again!!
As I watched this my thoughts are that your place would be a terrific teaching opportunity for veterinary students. The variety of medical issues you deal with in one buyout day is probably more than what comes through a vet hospital. And Dr Lydia would be a great teacher. And it would give you more help. I don’t know how something like that works but Have you ever reached out to any vet schools and made the offer
You fabulous folks are gonna need big outdoor cat/dog shelter/run areas for all these rescues. Wish I could donate lots for the valuable care you provide…
I really miss watching all the horses coming off the trailers. I always provided a sort of global picture of what the staff would be dealing with and served as an introduction to some that specifically stand out.
Can you see a big difference in the amount of horses going to auction now that the buyout program is ramping up? Was wondering if you have "people" that still go to the auction to monitor the progress of putting them out of business! I am praying that the laws change both in State and Federally. Ya'll are doing an amazing job at HPHS!! ❤
It is so very, very sad that owners have not dealt with those poor severely injured horses. JUST DO THE RIGHT THING, DON'T PASS THEM DOWN THE LINE!!! Please!!!❤😢
Tawny, theres video here on youtube about large horse farming facility, I believe in Europe, but could be anywhere, you might be interested in watching. I will see if I çan get more info, to make it easier to locate. From comments made on it, it shows them processing the horses, probably for human consumption, leather, etc. I only watched a bit of it before it got to processing part.
Maybe there are some vet tech companies who want to sponsor the vet team if they make product reviews on their vet channel. Wouldn‘t this be awesome?!? 😮😊
