Wyatt was adopted! He had a locked stifle when he arrived. He is doing much better and is walking freely. We are so happy for him and that he gets to continue his journey through life with his new mom.
How does that get locked like this? How did they unlock it. Just that extra follow up, you'd get more subscribers. More subscribers might mean people want to help and donate. Keep up the good work.
GoldenLioness is right. Momentum makes it easier for him to swing that locked stifle out and around, and get his hoof under himself instead of being basically three-legged. We had a mini with this condition, though he wasn't quite so bad. It's easily fixed with minor surgery, though.
horses with this issue arent in pain. Its usually from growing fast and the joints not growing as fast. Its not painful, its just annoying for the horse. most horses learn to deal with it themselves and then they eventually grow out of it. A few require surgery which is done thru keyhole, so quite minor.
