I love how the two vocal parts operate not only as a harmony, but even more as two parts of one linear melody.

This has a bit of sonic youth in it, but is pretty much it's own sound. well done.

Saw them in Philly last night- incredible performance. They can back up their songs live just fine especially for a trio- super tight and very well rehearsed.

I like that this band feels like a band and not just a singer-songwriter with session musicians... Sounds like teamwork.

Horsegirl está llamada a ser una de las bandas revelación de este año 2022. Este trío de chicas de Chicago maneja con soltura la distorsión, el shoegaze y el post-punk, con un sonido absolutamente arrebatador. El grupo está formado por Nora Cheng, Penélope Lowenstein (voces y guitarras) y Gigi Reece (batería). Se originó en el año 2019, que es cuando autoeditaron su primera canción, titulada "Forecast", después han editado algunos otros singles, pero es ahora cuando han firmado con el sello Matador cuando van a editar su disco debut "Versions of Modern Performance", que saldrá a la venta el próximo 3 de junio. Un ábum con doce temas en total, entre ellos este sorprendente "Anti-glory" en el que las talentosas 'rookies' crean un sobrecogedor diálogo entre voces y afiladas guitarras. Las comparaciones con bandas como Sleater Kinney o las neozelandesas Flying Nun serán inevitables, pero ellas ponen una acertada dosis de experimentación que sabe a gloria. Música independiente novedades.

Ever since Nick Knox with the Cramps I have not seen a cooler drummer. Cool as in: deadpan, unmoved, just plain cool. Great band!

In my late teens and 20s I used to love discovering new bands and being so excited about their music. I haven't felt that way in years, but I did when I discovered Horesegirl a couple months ago. I guess it's the whole "lighting in a bottle" thing; you've got it, or you don't. Horsegirl's got it, and then some. So. Good.

For me, it is the best song in months.

I hope it gets recognised as a true classic.

Everybody has their nostalgic 90’s groove memory from various places being activated by this exciting group. Mine is Canadian east coast 90’s. What a happy discovery!

Loving this all the way from Liverpool, UK - reminding me of the golden 90s indie days, with a hint of Joy Division.

Brings to mind the sounds of 80’s post-punk and 90’s indie rock. Kept my attention for the full video.

Another instant timeless classic from this brilliant band who are so musically mature beyond their years. As much as I can hear Sonic Youth, Gang Of Four, and even a bit of Siouxsie, they really only sound like Horsegirl, inimitable. As their previous songs have also been stellar, the only first for them here is finally having a really good video.

Grew up listening to Athens, GA bands in the late 70s and I swear I hear some Pylon and early REM in their sound. Love it!
