Totally, I've never seen them live but I believe they'd love to see my live another day for certain #thankyouhorslips #thómaskinsella #louislebrocquy #táinbócuailigne
Sang in Irish, English and Manx. Great how they turned ancient legends into modern rock albums. Pity they never gave the Táin or Book of Invasions the War of the Worlds Richard Burton treatment.
My fav Horslips track brings me back to when I was 16 seeing them for first time in July 76 in a stinking hot Farmers Ballroom Virginia Co Cavan. Great memories!
Saw them live in 1975 at the Corn Exchange, Cambridge. The place was almost empty - perhaps a total crowd of 100 of us, but they took it on the chin and gave us a helluva concert. Great memories.
First band I saw live late 70s. Made a special trip to Glasgow in 2011 when they had reformed after all those years. Tears in my eyes. My dad passed away this morning, and melancholy thoughts like this are running through my mind - the lost past.
They were BIG beatles fans! Here's a track they recorded as Lipstick, before they discovered/invented trad rock: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mEIEj13PFTM.html
