I like it but not enough for that price. I am a big hex fan boy and seeing the trouble you had with that diff case broke my heart! I have to give it credit for not sploding though! Some of those landings were pretty harsh. Great video as always petunia bottom!
Yup I get it! I thought about that price literally overnight and I didn’t convey my feelings very well and I’ve certainly heard that in the comments 😂. I wasn’t very clear but I want to see how it handles upgrades first. Not really more power but grippier tires and the other stuff. It’s a decent deal til you remember that the Granite occasionally goes on sale for even cheaper sometimes 😂. Thanks…….Sugar…Biscuit?!!
The fact that that didn't break landing on the street I swear to God you have something different going on there than the one that I ordered cuz I do one jump in the damn thing broke lol
I was just watching the video on Amazon for this rig. They used a bunch of your footage! I hope you were handsomely rewarded for that keyboard. Great work man love your stuff even if I'm a month or two behind sometimes.😊
Ya it’s hard to disagree, but I still don’t see it as too far out being the size and speed along with a center diff. Still comes in $50 less than a granite. Of course sometimes the granite goes on sale for the same price. Too much to compare it to, I try not to do that and let each car stand on its own. I wanna see how it does with upgrades and some more packs through it.
@DerbyCityRC yeah it was the horizon $80 SUMMER! sale, mt8 is $349 before horizon $25 honey25 coupon, and 10208 is $160 on ali with coupon. Great times to be in rc, but $280 deserves better than phillips heads.
Hi, I'm not sure if you'll see this, but I recently got into the RC hobby with a $73 Amewi Conquer truggy, and I love it... well, at least until I broke one of the front left shock arms. It turns out that just one screw messed up the whole thing! I'm planning to repair it, but I was also wondering if there's an option to upgrade to oiled shocks. I've searched the internet for a long time and couldn't find anything that seems like a good fit. Since you probably have more experience with RC cars than I do, I was wondering if you (or someone on the internet) might have any recommendations for where I could find oiled shocks for it. I live in Switzerland, so it would need to be available for delivery here. If you can help me, I'd really appreciate it! If not, at least I tried. Thank you!
Awesome video but my money at that price is on the Redcat Valkyrie its not perfect its running real hot on 4s and the front shocks out of the box dont want to rebound at all I swapped the oil and bam good to go
So I have the x-17. Thanks for your awesome review by the way! And so far the ESC burnt up and have broken many control arms. It's good to see a new version. I wonder if the parts are cross compatible?🤔 I wanted to give you some advice on your toe in problem. If you just the camber more towards 0°, it might actually allow you to tow the front wheels in. Not much but a little will help. Also, I adapted Traxxas slash aluminum arms to work on mine. Those would probably work as well on that. Thanks for the review sir 🤘😎.
Another great video man! Great they updated the diffs I’m so tired of fixing diffs on mine I’ve just given up and got arrmas now lol. For that price ,servicing the thing should not be that painful. Also maybe it’s just me but the styling of the body and that front bumper is just awful in my opinion. Until the next one 🤘🤘🤘
Great review and demo..theres got to be a easy fix for thay toe in issue..other than that its a good truck... what battery were you getting 42 mph? Thanks.😊
Thanks!! I think adjusting the camber a bit will help the toe, but also got some Arrma links that might fit! Will be trying soon! That was the stock battery! I Haven’t put anything other than stock in it yet.
I’m not going to pay name brand prices for what is a budget brand. I might think differently if I could go to my local hobby shop to buy parts as they break.
Would you ever do a review on a redcat Valkyrie MT and TR? I bought the Valkyrie TR and have to say i like it so far. The only thing i was worried about was the shock snapping.
Ford Motorcraft electrical grease. This grease, in my opinion, does a great job at staying where it's put, especially when the differentials are not sealed.
Thanks!! Ya I did a lot of thinking on the price and ultimately decided a 1:10 with a center diff, surviving a few hard bash packs, and over 40mph is probably worth it. But I still want to see how it does with upgrades first. Then when you compare it to the occasional sales price of the granite…it’s definitely too expensive. lol the price being worth it is up to the buyer! Lol
Great video! Have you checked out the wltoys 124006 yet? I think It's basically the same as the 12428 with a different body. But im curious to hear if there are any other changes to it.
Overall, both you and Thunder RC gave the thumbs up and that's more than good enough for me. With that said, at around $300 this will be a tough sale in my opinion. Especially since now there's the Redcat Valkyrie TR, and MT as well as MJX 10208. The other models mentioned have center diff as well as 4S capability. This is kinda a bad time for this Hosim model at this price range. I was considering getting the MJX 10208, but instead I'II be getting the Redcat TR soon.
Thanks. Yup it’s got competition for sure. I don’t have the redcat yet, but if I were to guess, that would probably end up being my favorite of all the ones you mentioned so I’d say you’re doing right!
.... I know the jetwood truggy 3S 47mph rc is ultra flimsy.... ultra thin steering rod broke during 1st battery on flat but rugged terrain and stock broke .... was an easy fix ACCEPT the 2 parts I needed were the ONLY replacement parts NOT INCLUDED ....
Have you asked Hosim to send you the new x07w? ,i seems great! New gears,6 kg metal servo, new rubber wheels...not sure if it has separate rx though..may be 2 in1...Happy bashing bro!😊
Awesome video. Issue for me is you compare this to a Granite 3s or a team corally Syncro 4s, does it make sense to spend $280ish on a Hosim when there are so many good options at this price point? I would think for most people if you’re able to spend $280 on a car you can prob swing another $40.
Thanks! Yup I hear ya. Exactly why I say let’s see how the upgrades go and that some people will not agree. This car was fun but I want to know more about how it lasts in the long term. Especially those diffs. Just like the new 1:10 HyperGo. Many people still chose to get that even though the granite is close in price (though you can get it for cheaper on Ali express apparently). Comparing is difficult for sure, but for the size, speed and power, to me it does compare. Not necessarily build quality like the smaller diffs so now I want to see longer term durability.
Just entered one of your raffles, old school red cat nitro racer but it broke and never got back into it, wanting something to toy around with at the local parks, the streets and around the home, having a hard time deciding which one is the best to go with the beast max seems to be my favorite so far. Just want something decently fast, durable, parts available.. Hope I win the raffle but if I don't can you maybe help suggest one really don't want to spend more than like $120
😆😂 Hosims have been interesting to say the least, but SO FAR….this has been good minus the things I mentioned. 😂 $60 less than an MT10 doesn’t seem to bad but as I mentioned. That could change when I go to upgrade it lol
Do you mean the x07 or the x17? Those are both Hosim models. I don’t believe it will fit the x07, but the x17 is possible. If the diff itself didn’t fit, you could probably swap the whole diff cases including the metal center case. I’m not positive about this though, I would try to reach out to them and see.
Hmmm 🤔,not bad truck, $280 =£255 ish, in the uk, so I think around £210-25 ish, would be a reasonable price, AWESOME, vid, though bro, took bit of a beating 😱😱, front wheels looked like it was Bow legged, lol 🤔😅
Yeah with no mesh adjustment or hex screws.. i just dont get why they do that....those are... I think the 2 main things to look at when it comes to a true rc hobby grade. $280 and no hex screws. I am out on that one. Way to many ones out there with ability to upgrade. "Almost won me over" HOSIM.
Honestly once I saw you stripped those screws I was out. I see a lot of people trying to define hobby grade. I would propose if you can’t unscrew a screw without stripping it it’s not hobby grade🤷🏽♂️ don’t get me wrong this isn’t toy grade but maybe a new term needs to be applied. Enthusiast grade🤷🏽♂️? Someone help me out here
Believe me I get it! Mid grade? Lol MJX did the same thing on the 10208 but atleast they used hex. Still stripped a few out though since they overused the red loctite! Maybe blue is hard to get ahold of over there? 😂
Is it just the diffs that break on you mostly? Yes! They do have upgraded diffs for the x17 coming out. I’ve actually got some coming so I can actually show them. So glad they’re finally doing this!
@@DerbyCityRC yes. ,,front diffs,,,,,an then a center diff,,,, I'd buy the whole new " upgraded drive train if it would make this thing reliable ,,oh an. Please test ,,if the plastic a-arms will fit the x17.
lol ya I’m torn on it. I re recorded that outro probably 20 times because I kept changing my mind. With all the upgrades over the original model, the price increase is worth it. But when you consider what you can get for not much more, not worth it. 😂
Ya it’s a tough one still. It’s well priced for its size speed and power, plus center diff. It’s all about how it will be in the long run which I’m hoping to find out when I upgrade it. I was legitimately surprised and stoked for the upgrades they made.
