Claire Wineland was known for her funny, offbeat videos about growing up with cystic fibrosis, her hospital room makeovers and the fact that she insisted on living a life she could be proud of. We found this video in the works on her computer and decided it would be fun to share it with you all in her honor. If you are currently in the hospital, maybe this will inspire some room decorating ideas...Thanks for supporting her all these years. We miss her madly but she truly comes to life in her videos so I like sharing them. She will always and forever be loved and missed and her mission continues at Claire's Place Foundation.

Justin Baldoni (director of five feet apart) made a documentary on her back in 2013-ish. She greatly impacted him and so modeled the character, Stella, after her- a youtuber, to-do list haver, poster of guy with chakras, her twinkle lights and a bunch of pictures in the corner. Oh and the panda bear mimics labor bear (shown at the end of this vid).

Im just going to post this here as many people dont know what happened. She had cystic fibrosis and did sadly pass away on the 2nd of September in 2018, She died from a stroke only a week after a lung transplant , she was only 21. She was an activist and had "claires place foundation" which helped many people and their families with cystic fibrosis . May she rest in peace 💕

Seriously? Is that something that really could've helped her live? That almost makes me more sad, but better late than never for all the others suffering with CF. Plus, I KNOW Claire wouldn't want any of us to be sad over her passing, but to take the joy she brought to us and carry it in our own lives.

This makes me so sad that she decorated it to be so homely because it was a permanent living situation for het, from what I can gather. The paintings of bricks really go to me though- all she probably wanted was to live in a cute red brick apartment, and healthy. It’s really sad to think of how inspiring and uplifting of a person she was, that she really radiated positive energy and put a smile on everyone’s face....that she made peoples life’s better but she was the one suffering physically. Rest easy ❤️

I found Claire just months before her passing but as someone actively working on my bachelor's in nursing, I can tell you she is the light of every nurse's eye and a well to draw constant inspiration from. I know, sweet momma, that as you struggle to keep her memory and her account alive for the millions who so desperately needed her, that you are hurting and struggling yourself to just open your eyes each day and find some way to keep going. But please know that whatever you do, whatever you give us, we will be grateful for. For even just small tidbits of this beautiful angel are more than enough to keep us going. She was so very special and unique and stars that burn that bright will forever light the sky. ❤

Well put. I second this, emphatically, as a nurse myself. I never met her, but I know she made a lot of people's days. I guarantee the medical staff looked forward to seeing her...that they did everything within their power for her... because they saw what everyone who was stopped in their tracks by her smile saw. One of the things I admired her for is that she always looked like she knew who she was. She was able to express her true self 100% in everything she did and said, which isn't common at all. I still have troubles figuring out who I really am and what defines me, and sometimes I panic because I feel so plain and homologated... But I mean look at her room, every corner has her mark, it simply screams CLAIRE. I don't know if I would be able to do that. I may sound nonsense but I am SO inspired by her and I forever will be. Too late for me to be crying. i know i didn't know her personally but she had my heart and my soul. Every word from her captivated me. I looked at her i a desired to be at least half as strong as she is. Oh boy, my life would be so much more easier if i was half the human she is. my stepmom used to be her primary nurse at millers children hospital. she came up to me the day that she claire died and asked if i knew about her and she would tell me all of these stories about how she would just change the whole atmosphere of the room so it wasn’t hospital like and that she would feel more comfortable, she seemed like a lovely human and i’m sorry i wasn’t able to ever meet her. rip girly you’re truly an inspiration💛
