You should try meeting with other families and kids who have had the surgery! It is extremely re-assuring and comforting!! My family and I have done this since I am getting surgery on June 2. Your 14 year old will do amazing post op- best of luck to you!
hey, im back again ! i was wondering if you had any major height differences after your surgery, as in like if you grew any taller. since im told id grow around 10-15cm
@@petraferko well as i commented once, mine is about 90° right now, but you really dont have to worry! everything is going great for me right now. on may 11th were going to the 2nd doctor that will be performing surgery on me, and im pretty sure he will tell me the surgery date or atleast when im going to the hospital. the surgery was said to be 16.000€ but the health insurance company is paying for it instead because of the countless of useless corsets/braces my mom had to pay for. so it will be free! i cant wait to finally be able to live a normal life and have a nice future ♥
Literally tomorrow is my surgery! I’m so nervous, so much anxiety, it’s mumbo jumbling lol! Umm so I’m not a needle person, I’m curious to know does the IV hurt? Also, I’m getting a catheter- does that hurt when they take it out? Those are the most weirdest things that bother me but please tell me! Ur Vids are really nice, and reassuring. Am very grateful to know that I’m not the only one lol!🫶🤗🤩

@@IzzyCulp Omg! Hey girl! My surgery went amazing! I had mine February 21st at 5 in the morning. So when I went in I asked these questions, and they said the IV is just a poke and it’s over. I asked a lot though (just cause I really did not want an IV cause I have a needle issue lol), and she came in a told me that I could have gas. So when I woke up the IVs were in my arm already😝! But even when they were in my arm, I didn’t feel them🤷♀️! With the catheter, I was terrified of this lol😂! But they do it when your put to sleep, again, when u wake up u don’t really know it’s there till someone tells u lol. When they make u walk u will probably get it out after the walk in a couple hours. I got really worked up because I was scared it was gonna hurt, they counted to 3 and it was out(I started laughing bc I was crying over nothing). There is no pain whatsoever lol. It’s just really warm😂?? With my mobility- my doctor who did my surgery said I was the most flexible back they had worked on before(that’s a good thing), so with that comes benefits! Like a quicker recovery! I was up walking around in a week!! I used to do a lot of contortionist stuff with my body and bending like a worm lol, I will never be able to bend in half again but I can still do everything else! With the technology they have now(depending on how they’re doing it) you will probably end up with the same mobility as me. I didn’t lose anything☺️, I can still do everything I wish! I played softball for 8 years and I’m going to get back in to that, me and my sibling horse around lol and I’m fine, I go on roller coasters, I’m back to weight lifting again. But keep in mind this comes slowly, it’s not one and done. U will work yourself to these points. I think the best part of this surgery was I got so much more confidence in myself. You have nothing to fear I promise love, You’ve got this, have faith, and pray! If u have any questions please ask! I had my aunt who went through it and she talked me through it the whole time(made me feel so much better lol) You’ve got this boo!!💗🫶

@@IzzyCulp Anytime! You should still be able to do some gymnastics again(after you’ve recovered ofc lol), softball is a great choice! A personal favorite lol😉😁 They did my back with chromium boron rods, from my L2 to my T12. lmk what kind they did on yours! Good luck!
@@ChiaraWhite22 well they did not tell me exactly what vertebrae they are fusing to lol but I asked how much and he showed me on my x ray and it looks about where yours is fused to loll!😝
