As a Indiana resident and person who frequents the Greenwood Park mall I think the guy truly is a hero. I have been in that mall several times and have seen people carrying guns. It was truly a tragedy what happened that day but I think it could’ve been worse had he not been there
Right man.. I was at Greenwood mall the day before the shooting with my ol lady. we like going to Portillo's or eat somewhere then the mall and uncle bills. I'd did not carry that day and since it hit so close to home I'm making sure it goes with me everywhere now

I’d say one has lost the argument when one cannot acknowledge someone’s bravery in order to protect a narrative that is falling apart. Sunny has lost the argument and her damn mind.
She bought a pistol during the pandemic/rioting. I saw the clip of the View where she talked about the purchase, going to the range with her friends, and the feeling of "empowerment" she got from the feeling that she could defend herself and her kids. She's one of the privileged New Yorkers that gets to have a firearm. She needs called out on her hypocrisy too.
It's so duplicitous and evil that every, single person that works to keep citizens from defending themselves are protected by firearms. Every. Single. One.
Spot on Peter! I asked a Leftist associate of mine the other day, because they bring out this 22 year old man shouldn't have had a gun, no one should have a gun! Exasperating dealing with these people. But, I put her on the spot, said: "Okay, let me buy your argument, no guns! Now, if you can get President Biden (and others) to give up their armed guards, I'll go along. If the argument is that if all law abiding citizens give up their guns, then the criminals will as well, let's do it!" Boy, did she look stupid! She realized just how ridiculous her argument is. We've got to keep calling these people out! Don't think I convinced my nutcase Leftist coworker, but, 2 other employees were listening, both said they never thought of my argument before, it makes sense. Well, who knew, golly gee! I might have made 2 converts Peter!

They don't even realize that their claim makes them look like lunatics to the public. I have said it before that the criminal broke the gun free zone "rule" (not law) with intent to kill while the hero did not break the rule with intent to kill. If the criminal had not had intent to kill in the first place the hero would never have had to defend lives. Intent is 9/10s of the law. Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six.

@@trikstari7687 It can't be even started. Because he broke no laws. Mall policy/Code of conduct has no legal authority besides being trespassed or escorted out.
He did kill though, so it could be argued that it's intent to kill. However, not all intent to kill is wrong. It depends on who you're intending to kill, a mass murderer or innocent people. He killed the mass murderer, which is morally right.
That's great! But ultimately unimportant since they have constitutional carry. This young man was 100% legal, 100% in the right. If I get the chance I'll shake his hand.
I’m in Indiana and was literally screaming at the screen when I first saw this clip. The disinformation was almost as bad as the utter contempt for Eli the HERO.
For someone that worked at the justice department I have to ask, what did she do there... sweep the floors? Her understanding of a rule vs a law is 5th grade at best.
Great point about the kind of person who says "that's too difficult to do", but also criticizes you as a social misfit if you train enough to make the difficult shot possible.
I would love to meet this man who’s actions saved lives. Tbh, I was at work when all this happened and I work not even 10 minutes away from where it all happened. Everywhere I go, I carry a handgun. Every public area I’m in, I scan my surroundings for possible threats. I am prior military. They train you to always have your head on a swivel and to always scan your surroundings no matter where you are. I never saw combat, but they still trained me just in case I needed to go. Like it or not, this man is a hero. I would love nothing more than to shake this man’s hand and thank him. I would’ve taken the same actions he did if I were there. God bless this hero.
@Charlie Scene I agree. I would like to shake this young man's hand. I wasn't in the military nor do I have any police training. But I also scan my surroundings constantly, when out in public. I'm not sure what caused me to start doing that. But I have most of my adult life.
This is total madness, that people saving lives are being vilified, what is the country coming to. I wonder how they would feel if their loved one or ones, where that situation, would they still say, well he still broke the law.
People like her are married to the narrative. If her own child was about to be gunned down by the shooter, she would still say that what happened was wrong.
I hate to wish bad things on people, but evil and cowardly people like Sonny need to have bad things happen to them so they realize why we need heroes like that guy from the mall
Always the people who cant shoot talk about being “trained with weapons” 40 yards away with 8/10 hits. That is a CRAZY impressive shooting skill. Eli is a chad.
That's more like expert+ shooting to say the least, 80% accuracy on a moving target at 40 yards. With a handgun that probably has a 3" or 4" barrel.. Especially in a crisis situation where seconds count and the cops are minutes away. He is very well trained and skilled with his firearm and knows that firearm inside and out. Knows the correct ammo to use to achieve the most accuracy, hand placement, site alignment and overall balance. The most important factor, his mindset on staying calm and focusing on the threat. I won't be surprised if local law enforcement offered him a job training their officers on how to shoot. Like Colion said, " that boy can shoot!".
I spend a good amount of time at the range and don't think that I could pull off 40% accuracy at 40 yards in a pressure situation. Really no one, including law enforcement, has any idea how they will react until they are in that situation. I expect that staying calm is 90% of the battle, but that is easier said than done. My carry gun of choice is a 1911 gov't, so I probably have a barrel length advantage over the guy that achieved 80%. This kid needs to get the recognition that he deserves and it would be nice to know what prep work he had done prior to this incident.
I train at 20-30, and 40 yards at the range. 30-40 yards is a very difficult shot especially in a highly dangerous situation. This young man is a tier 1 civilian operator. 9 out of 10 police officers couldn't score 80% hits at that range.
I reckon pressure and the stress of the situation made him perform better. It happens to plenty of athletes. We regret to it as the clutch gene in basketball. We've all hit a shot on a moving target at 40yrds. That ability is there.
@@nikolairose2739 you’re really comparing the pressure of winning and losing a game, to possibly losing your life if you mess up …..I’d say the pressure is much different bro . Can’t compare a sport to your life dude , nowhere even close to the same amount of pressure

Yes a stray bullet could have hit someone completely irrespective of how well he trains but the same can be said about professionals working as security officers. I work as a Cash In Transit Officer for Loomis Armored US myself and hitting 80% of your shots at 40 yards with a handgun is more than impressive(an active and moving threat at that)!! I would have used my micro rifle during a robbery at that distance! If a citizen/ civilian were helping me out during a robbery attempt I would welcome the help and not give a crap about the "no firearms" sign outside of the bank. Once the police patrolmen show up we have a 50/50 of them helping us or just eating doughnuts until the danger has ended for them.
The hero's bullet could have hit someone else while he was trying to kill a mass murderer . . . What difference would it make there was a mass murderer in the mall already shooting people . . . I would rather get hit by a stray bullet from a hero than to take a bullet for my mass murderer . . . So you seem to think he should have just done nothing and let this mass killer go through the mall shooting and just killing people . . And that the hero was wrong because one of his bullets could have strayed and hit somebody . . . While trying to stop the mass murderer . . . Why don't you shut up and go back to watching the Kardashians and eating your Twinkies . . 🖕🖕🖕
Reality: Hero prevents a massive tragedy Narrative: "good Samaritan" actually broke the law. The sad reality is, the only way for people like her to actually change their stance on the gun debate is to be in a similar situation like this one and the Uvalde school shooting, and it's fucked up.

I visited Tel Aviv a few years ago. While walking through the local market, I saw many vendors with rifles and pistols in plain sight. One elderly lady selling apples had a pistol next to the scales. I asked why so many people carried guns and she replied, "No one has ever attacked or injured anyone at this market!"
“The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes…. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” - Thomas Jefferson

Someone tell her that private property "asking" people not to carry a gun, and ignoring that request isn't breaking the law. And the mall owner ACTUALLY was thankful to the man.
Well, I don't know about where the mall was, but some states do enforce "no concealed carry" signs on private property. So it IS possible it was actually illegal

He made the commitment to train so much long before this situation. That is a message for all of us. We may not have a chance to be a hero as he was, but we all should be inspired by his example to be ready to do what is needed, both with our intention but more importantly with our skill.
Most policeman would have sprayed 15 rounds down range, hitting multiple people in their attempt to thwart the killer. This HERO obviously was taught to be aware of everything behind your intended target.
