I absolutely loved how Loni stepped in for Jeannie when it came to her talking about her divorce. It’s obvious that Jeannie is dealing with so much and wants to just let everyone know what she’s feeling and dealing with and Loni knew her vulnerability just wasn’t right for this moment. THAT’S real friendship and so commendable. I love all of them and love even more that they are getting the recognition they deserve for their efforts and hard work! Wow. Ya’ll, I’ll be honest. When Jeannie first announced her divorce, especially being that she loved Freddy with so much unconditional love and devotion, and spent nearly two decades with him-she spoke about her divorce with so much humility, composure, and didn’t speak ill of him. Not even a little bit. She went on national television and displayed a tremendous amount of vulnerability. She didn’t owe us anything regarding her divorce, but she spoke about it anyway. And I remember thinking to myself, “Dang. If I were to ever get a divorce, I pray that I can handle it as gracefully as Jeannie did”. Now, watching her discuss it briefly, it’s evident that her soul hurts. She’s trying to pick her words carefully, not bad mouth him, and not allow speculation to circulate around social media. But it’s evident that Freddy... ehh. 😔 I just pray that Jeannie heals and I pray that God continues to bless her abundantly.

So Vince ole shady ass got his wife fired, blamed her co-hosts, tamar became paranoid (like who out to get her next), and cut off communication, and Vince sat back let the chips fall where they may SMH My theory is that you've seen how tamar acted back in the day when she was on iyanla....it was a totally different person.....I believe tamar is who she is but once she married vince he made her paranoia and trust in people go through the roof which exacerbated the characteristics in her personality. jeannie an good example of why prenup are important. the person you divorce is not the same one you get marry too. she blew up and successful and he probably want that. ego and money.

Vince has classic domestic abuser tendencies. Tamar wanted a new manager and Vince was threatened by that because it meant he would lose control over her. It’s isolation and gaslighting 101. He invented conflict where there was none behind the scenes between her and her cohosts so that those friendships would be thrown out the window. He fanned the flames of conflict between her and her sisters so that their bond would be fractured. He created _"Tamar & Vince"_ because he wanted to be in control of her activities without family input like she was on _"Braxton Family Values"_ . He made her think that people were out to get her and sabotage her career when in reality they weren’t. How does a manager NOT know why his client was fired? The idea is to eliminate all forms of outside emotional support. Why do u think the only friends she had were the ones on her payroll? Her "friends" consisted of her glam squad, personal assistants, and the nanny. All people Vince could keep tabs on whether or not he was present. He wanted her to think that the only person who really loved her and had her back was him. It creates dependency. If u look at old Ike and Tina Turner interviews, Tina was always the loud outspoken one laughing and being silly, while Ike was always quiet, reserved, soft spoken and almost socially awkward. That’s how abusers behave in public so as not to draw attention to themselves while making their victim look like the wild one. I remember Tamar used to laugh and say they were velcro. I’m sure she realizes now that that was control and not love. She couldn’t even take a girls trip with her sisters without him tagging along to keep track of her. Her first husband was abusive which makes her more likely to seek out other abusive men subconsciously. Vince fed off of that as well. Also, the fact that we now know she was molested when she was growing up makes a lotta sense in retrospect. Many times adults who haven’t dealt with abuse during their developmental years become emotionally stunted. That’s why when Tamar is upset, she retreats to the neck rolls, dramatic face expressions, flailing herself around in her chair, etc. She behaves like a child because that’s the period of her life where the part of her brain responsible for emotional intelligence stopped developing. She responds to hurt the way 6 year old Tamar would respond to hurt. Kids act out behaviorally many times because they’ve never been taught to "use their words". She knows deep down it’s wrong, but she was never given the tools to fix it and properly communicate her pain because like many big southern church families, hers just pushed everything under the rug. Or they try and "pray it away". Like, if we don’t talk about it, then it doesn’t exist. I’m a Social Worker and I can’t tell u how many times I come across this exact dynamic no matter the age or race of the couple.
