Erin had too much fun with this one. "Slowly work the knob". mentions the fasions "look at the boots" "I like the chains under the boobs"! And the best line Erin said "MAYBE HE DIDN'T WANT TO SHOOT TO EARLY". 😂 I laughed so hard! Erin's the BEST!❤ U guys are the best.

Congratulations! You have now experienced the cinematic wonder that is...."Robot Holocaust"! A true legend among great bad movies, it's been putting smiles on faces since 1986 and it'll keep right on. Btw, the actress...or should I say ACTRESS!...with the accent is Angelika Jager, German not French, but acting enough for both countries put together.

1) Remember the Pleasure Machine? This was released theatrically in Italy with less narration and there was a man in the scene with the machine. 2) Just to underscore how cheap the movie was: Charles Band was the uncredited EP on this, which meant he could bring in his brother Richard, who did a lot of music for his brother's movies. The music for this movie could thus be recycled from other movies, most notably Laserblast (1978, the movie with the kid with the laser boomstick on his arm).

15:20 Those "lightning/electric" effects aren't an animation. That's comped in footage from those "plasma plate" toys. It's kinda like those plamsa globes that we all had (and they showed at the "pleasure machine") but it's on a round, flat surface. They make those lightning-type effects. So i guarantee they filmed one of those things in a dark room, bumped the contrast to the extreme, then used that footage to overlay onto the actual film footage to comp in the effect. I feel like this was early enough to where they likely had to double expose the film rather than doing computer effects, but it's the same concept either way.

I'm thanking my deity of the week (currently Thoth, the Egyptian god of wisdom) you guys exist. I tried watching this on MST3K but it was so fucking painful (even with the adlibs) I turned it off after 20 minutes. How your crew survives hours of this is a mystery but I'm sure the beer helps.

2.3 on the IMDB, but you need to remember that *every* movie that's been on MST3k gets a huge penalty compared to other movies. That said, it really did deserve that 2.3.

As others have pointed out this film was featured on MST3K, specifically the very first Comedy Central season which didn't get a lot of reruns. It's one of the few episodes I never saw but only knew from the Episode Guide book where they focus on Jager's accent being so thick she was unintelligible. Often films had to be cut down for time and to be suitable for TV (MST3K aired Saturday afternoons in the early 90s) so the whole pleasure machine fog dance sequence was cut.

Many of the apocalyptic scenes were filmed by the ruins of the Strecker Lab and old Smallpox hospital on Roosevelt Island. They’ve made it into a park since. I kinda liked it better before tho .

feel like half the locations looked familiar but probable just the fact that once you've been in one HOA city basement you've probably been in them all those old boilers/burners do look crazy industrial and crazy to a degree. And a bunch of the outdoor shots look like Roosevelt Island where there was incomplete construction that I vaguely remember when I was a kid, but might still be a mess now.

I find the main villainess' performance almost mesmerizing; honestly unsure if she's giving it her all a la Creedence Leonore Gielgud, deliberately doing the worst job possible, or constantly under the influence of drugs.
