Here's the sequence of events. Listen to a DJ Cummerbund mashup of Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" with Lizzo's "Good as Hell" Read comments that "Sledgehammer" was covered by Harry Styles of One Direction. Listened to that amazing cover, and read in the comments that Sarah Jones was the drummer for some band I never heard of called Hot Chip. Looked her up, and came across this. Man, youtube rabbit holes are the best.
Now you should go listen to LCD Soundsystem, which is covered at the end of this song and Al Doyle (the guitarist of Hot Chip) is a member of that band
This has too few views. What a thumping anthem this is. Love seeing the crowd catch on and sing along. Then Al Doyle playing this and singing one of LCD's best songs. If you put thumbs down on this one, make an appointment to see your physician. You are dead inside.
Just wow, what a way to close a set, magical stuff, so good. I always come to this vid to put a smile on my face. Pure class from Hot Chip. Maybe one day we’ll get a chance to see them live again. Bath full of ecstasy is a superb. Check it out.
How I got here: Salsa dance clip -> last scene of Dirty Dancing -> Alfonso Ribeiro on DWTS -> Bruce Springsteen's original Dancing in the Dark -> here we are. It's a trip!
Sledgehammer led me here. Sort of like an Arcade Fire approach. I can appreciate what i see with her - SJ.. Bands don't go off track with her rock steady beat.
Funny you mention that. Apparently the original Springsteen lyric was: "this mum's for hire" but the record label claimed that was 'inappropriate' nowadays and apparently not marketable . PC gone mad. The Boss loves blue collar milfs in your neighbourhood though, less than one mile away according to some sources..
