A third thing I noticed is Omar kept saying they said he was John the Baptist or Elijah. The issue is that this was the response to Jesus when Jesus asked his disciples who do the other people think he is. He asked his disciples who they think he is and the answer was "The Christ". This is consistent with the whole scripture and doesn't allow for his argument that they were confused about his identity especially when we read the epistles saying Jesus took on flesh as a veil over his full glory. i finally figured out Omar’s issue. He is not using the meanings of words, as they are used throughout the text. Declare, for instance, is used throughout to denote that God has spoken and made it such. But when Declare is used by Jesus as with the unclean food, although it is used just as it is for the Father, Omar treats it as simply normal speech. I suspect he is doing this purposely, to misrepresent the authority of Jesus.

Avery did really well in his opening statement as well in his 1st rebuttal. Secondly the law of Agency is not a good argument against the deity of Christ. The law of Agency only goes so far and certain prerogatives are exclusively pertaining to God himself such as forgiveness of sins, giving eternal life ect. Omar asked if the laws of logic applies to God, that to me does not sound right since God is the source of the laws of Logic. The laws of Logic are immaterial. If Omar had his own laws of logic and Avery had his own laws of logic, how would they be able to communicate with one another. Omar made this weird argument throughout the debate by saying that when we say Jesus has a God that we are saying that the Father has a father. That is simply not what we are saying at all. A father cannot be his own father. In order to be a Father, there has to be a son. Terms such as father and son are relational terms. A father cannot be a father without a son and a son cannot be a son without a father. When we say that Jesus has a God we recognize that in the incarnation when Jesus who is the second person of the trinity took upon himself a human nature in the person of Jesus Christ the father became his God as it is stated in the Old Testament that God is the God of all flesh, and since Jesus was a human being it make sense that the father became his God. In the one divine essence of God, God himself does not have a God. Since the bible is clear that there is only one being of God who exists as 3 divine persons sharing in the one essence. When Omar becomes aggressive and insulting at around 45:00 it's over, even Central is more sympathetic towards GL at that point, Omar is so toxic in his opposition to GL, so ugly in his will to win at all costs that even Muslims can't sympathise with him any longer. The core of the matter is that Omar can't operate with dialectical logic. He's only capable of binary, "representative" either/or, black/white logic, and thus incapable of understanding evolutionary process and the divinity of Jesus-YHWH and the One-Three of Trinity. 47:53 the problem here is he is arguing under the assumption that Matthew was just doing a copy/ paste of mark. This is false. Matthew was recalling his own account to the events he witnessed. Matthew understood the meaning of this interaction with the rich man. Mark also understood because the point was not Jesus was rejecting being called good, because in John Jesus says "I am the Good Shephard." Jesus is making the point clear that being good isn't what gets eternal life, which was what the rich man wanted to know. He wanted to point to all the commands he has kept throughout his life, but when Jesus said to "sell all you have, take up your cross and follow Me," the rich man walked away. He was bound to his worldly possessions when eternal life was standing in front of him.
