I grew up on Hot Grill, Rutts Hutt and Cousin Joes(deceased, no longer in business). Just seeing this place brings back soooo many memories! Salute you JL for showing love to our 'round the way spots!

JL, Up north, the phrase is “all the way”, which is what ever you are ordering plus fresh chopped onions, mustard and chili (aka sauce, aka gravy). So you ordered two dogs all the way and a burger all the way. Keep up the great work, brother!

My home town! Haven't been there since 87 but we'd jam then go there for dogs. Deep fried, spitting and splitting. Went there since elementary school (#2) in the 60's. Rut's Hut has the beef barb. Both classic heart trouble places. There's also the Castle for more gourmet Clifton fare. Rut's Hut has seating in the front. Waitress.

After that anniversary tale from those kids(!) I'm already lovin' this place. Never got to Rutt's even though I passed by it often when on the road, but I would go here in a minute. All those regulars can't give you a bum steer. 😏🤠

Been there since my Elementary, High school and after College by 1985. In 1988 started working at Okonite Cable, and, my Ĺunch stand was TheHotGrill. I grew up in that area. For a “plain” dog I prefer the ripper at ruts hut. When I want an all the way dog I prefer the Hot Grill. Either way you can not go wrong!

The couple that's been married for 60 years warmed my heart. I've never been to any of these places because I don't visit NJ but the food y'all had looked really good.

I've been going there for 30 years. I get the french fries with cheese and gravy not chili. The gravy you had without the chili meat is what I put on my cheese fries. You can buy the gravy in containers to go.

I really like the human touch, the interviews. They give a flavor of the place's heritage. I've been to Rutt's Hut, need to try Hot Grill.

Went there after CYO on Friday nights with my boyfriend back in 1961. Got married and moved to CT. But everything we made a trip to Jersey (and there many because my and my husband's family lived there) we would bring back the hot dogs all the way for our 6 children. I now live in Florida but my now adult children still go there. Just looking at those hot dogs I can still remenber the delicious smell.

When I used to live in Passaic NJ, I loved Midtown Grill and Rut Hutts. Fridays night or some we hanging at white castles Passaic County NJ

Love this place! Took my daughters there when they were toddlers. Even bought them the Hot Grill toy van.

You are always so kind to all of your restaurants. I am not convinced you like their sauce. Cumin is like cilantro. Some people adore cilantro, and others say it tastes like dish soap. Cumin is one of those spices where you either love it or hate it.

Cheese and gravy be rocking there, all the way sauce dogs amazing, been to the place a thousand times, Johnny Haynes in Paterson was awesome too they moved to fair lawn

My go to order is a double cheeseburger all the way, onion rings, and a strawberry shake! Got me homesick watching this.

The dogs themselves have so much flavor I can eat them plain. Dip it in your vanilla milkshake so that salty sweet combo. Used to do that as a kid. Sometimes I still do.

I'm from NJ but grew up going to Rutts Hut. I know theres a debate over those 2 places. I've wanted to stop at Hot Grill but never have. Its not that close to my home and I usually just want to get back home whenever I'm near it.
