Thx for this video! My dad took the family to Watts Bar Lake 54 years ago, when I was 6. I still remember it was a great trip. When we went out together on the boat, Dad's primary responsibility was taking care of Mom and me so we could fish (Mom mandated this). When she took a break, he tossed out his line with a black shyster, and immediately got into a 5 pound largemouth. It was a great fight, but he got 'er in. When we got back to our cabin area, some guy who worked there held it up, yelling "5 pounds!" to the other people there, as we walked through to the place they had to measure and weigh it. Still not ot sure what that was all about but it was cool ...my Dad was beaming. Mom was hacked off at him, saying it should have been her fish. So funny. He had it mounted and it graced the living room for decades. Weird how I can remember all those details from 54 years ago, but can't remember something that happened last week now. My Dad just passed 3 months ago, so again thanks for this video.
John, I gotta tell you, I follow and have followed a few fishing RU-vidrs and you're one of very few that I still enjoy and still follow! Your level of excitement when hooking in to even the smallest of fish is fantastic! Your manner of explaining what you are doing, where you are fishing, etc. and not patting yourself on the back or touting your "expertise" makes your channel enjoyable to follow. So thank you! Keep up the good work my friend!
Beautiful Lake!! It’s no clear water, snake infested, slippery bottom, creek but hey, there’s fish there that need to be caught too. Great video Brother!!
Creek Fishing Adventures I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m so impressed with the amount of fishable water you live around. I grew up walking creeks and rivers of Virginia. Anytime I saw a spot, I was pulling over to throw a line but that was the 70s and 80s, long before GoPro’s and cell phones. I was born 20 years to early. Lol Living through your eyes Brother!! Thanks for the great videos.
The way you were throwing under the shade line is the same way I fish a top water hollow body frog in the summer. I have thrown in spots similar to the some of those little cuts in the bank and just got hammered by bass . 👊👍
I live on Watts Bar. I know exactly where you put in at. Right where the Little Emory and Tennessee River meet. Go under that bridge and the water temp drops considerably. I live closer to Thief Neck Island, I used to live across from Kingston Steam Plant. I had already moved, but the huge coal ash spill destroyed the property. I like fishing Watts Bar. There’s a spot right by my house that is my honey hole. I live in a cove and at the mouth of the cove there’s a huge hole. It goes from 12 ft to 40 ft instantly. Lots of big fish hang out on that ledge.
I went fishing the other day and hit a gravel bar with my prop.... sooo annoying. Guy comes in with the boat and does the same thing. I was like hey man cmon I’m in the waters fine! We shared a laugh then I start watching your vids..... it’s like I’m ok as long as I can watch people do what I can’t.
What's the worse that could happen with a $10 lure??? Lol. I would lose it on the first handful of casts! The odds of losing a lure is directly correlated to the cost. Great video!
Love all the vids brother. And I'm thankful that u proclaim the word of God in alot in ur vids. We are persecuted for our beliefs nowadays for zero reasoning. Bless you & yours my friend. Keep up the Gr8 videos!!
That's an interesting point about leaders. I have heard John describe his using them and I had always followed the example that the LESS connections you have between you and the lure the better. You are just making another tie that could break... Can anyone cite examples where they actually help? Appreciate it.
Did you spend post of your time on the TN River, the Clinch River or the Emory River? Looked like you were at least on 2 of the 3. Did you all put in there at Kingston City Park? Looked awfully familiar. I had not been up there in about 28 years, so I drove up there last week and looked it over again. I really want to get the boat up there and get some Striper and Catfish. As always another great video John!
@@CreekFishingAdventures Awesome. Hoping to go there to this weekend and maybe slow troll for some striper then drift back down looking for cats. Have a great night. Hope you are getting to enjoy your own bed for a few days before hitting the road. Stay safe and always pack heat
slow lake fishing - worth a shot - would go more to the fast creeks for the height of summer - try flipping some big live baits - the ticket for the big fish that are too smart for lures - don't be afraid to take a week off at some point #pace
Unless it changed this year, the Alabama Spotted Bass Record for TN came from Parksville Lake in Polk Co TN on the Ocoee River. I know the fella that caught it.
What is a Mean Mouth? Is it a sub species of large mouth? I typed this to early in the video. Cruz you answered my question at the end. Lol. Thanks for another enjoyable video.
HEY I got a request you should try fishing Daddy’s creek in crossville TN it’s a very big a long creek it goes into Obed river and the Muski from obed come into the creek and there is a lot of smallie and largie and panfish
@@CreekFishingAdventures I live in Oakdale tn. It's below nemo. I've seen your video at nemo. It would be awesome see you do another one further down River.
That first bass was pretty cool....I've read that spotted bass will breed with smallmouths, and in fact will eventually breed them out of existence. There was the case of a lake in north Georgia that wa a good smallmouth lake; someone in a bass club surreptitiously put in spotted bass - within a few years, there were no smallmouths to be found.
