Personally I hate speakers on the course. I prefer walking and just want to enjoy my time and not be forced to listen to whatever someone else is blaring.
I would somewhat disagree with the idea of Rham "struggling". He has come in the top 10 in every LIV event amd has been dealing with an infection in his foot. He is learning an entire new league and schedule and still consistently performing. He will break through soon.
Jon blaming the drone for his shot is a poor excuse. But that's not the first time he's lost his cool about some external factor. He's done that on the PGAT as well.
I flew from CT, 40 minutes from the Travelers event, to enjoy the LIV Nashville event instead. It was so much fun! Yes, I really enjoy the music and the many other things they do for entertainment. I have no problem having both leagues exist and each of us can watch the league that interests us. I have only watched the Majors this year plus every LIV event. The other PGA events do not interest me. BTW LIV Nashville was packed! I did enjoy VIP ticket experiences all three days! Party hole on Friday and Club 54 on Saturday and Sunday! Also went to LIV Miami a few weeks ago with my wife and really enjoyed as well!!! LIV is not going anywhere and will pick up several more players later this year!!!
As long as any noise is consistent. You cant zip in suddenly with a drone right on someone's backswing. If you want the shot for tracking or viewing purposes then have the drone there before the player addresses his ball. Same with music and crowd noise. It's fine if it is ongoing or expected as long as no one is catching a player by surprise with a sudden noise on his backswing. Lastly, you rarely see a player complaining about something after a good shot. It usually happens after a bad shot, it's human nature
Robert Macintyre did the same on the PGA in Canada a month ago when he went off on the tee box. Smh You should have at least started with the positive side of the actual tournament and giving props.
MacIntyre took issues on the tee box and again, later in the round, on the fairway. No mention of that tells me all I need to know about the bias of this podcast.
Haters, this has nothing to do with Liv. Rahm has always been a sensitive and easily distracted golfer and blamer for his bad shots. Watch Rahm miss a putt and gesture with his hands of the break seeming to blame the greens for him missing the putt. And Liv is not preventing people from winning. Golf is so competitive and hard to win. Is the pga the reason why, Speith,JT, Finau, Collin, the reason why they haven’t won in a while?
Of course it's about Rahm and not LIV. But LIV paid him tons to help them change the world of competitive golf. Are his comments that "54 holes is not real golf" and blaming drones and sports journalists for his bad play? Or is it just OK to tout Bryson DeChanbeau's professionalism in major tournaments as a representation of what LIV offers those looking for a choice and censor the antics and live mic's of Rahm?
Are you hurting for stories to cover? He got mad at the use of drones. Same thing happened a few weeks ago on the PGA TOUR when Robert Macintyre also lost it when a drone was also being used and was getting too close to the player during their shot. It's NOT a Rahm vs LIV issue. He would have "torched" the PGA for the same thing.
Is this whole episode about John complaining about something? You could do 70ish of these a tournament day for Rahm. The drones are a bit of an issue as has happened with McIntyre and others on both tours.
Why aren't more top 100 players going to LIV? When LIV first came on the scene Greg Norman told his players that PGA couldn't ban them from future events. When PGA banned them from future events they sued PGA and lost. Then Greg Norman told LIV players that OWGR wouldn't exclude them because they're now playing in LIV events. When OWGR excluded them from the ranking process because of their limited field, Greg Norman told them that OWGR was irrelavent. Today Greg Norman uses OWGR as a source to confirm that LIV has "players in the top 100 best players in the world". I personally like Anthony Kim and I'm glad to see him playing again. But it begs the question: which top 100 PGA player was refused entry to the LIV League because Kim filled the one vacancy?
Where did you get the $600 mil. figure.. All speculation, whatever he got nobody would know. Remember, his contact fee includes the aquirement of team members, caddies, travel and housing. That's the case for all team captains. Each team is a business on it's own.
Why make the details of the deal a secret if they're doing so much to 'grow the game' ? If I was involved in such a grand scheme I'd want everyone to know how valuable my services to the sport are. The whole idea behind LIV is to give fans a choice so let them know what they are. Purses for every PGA tournament are well publicized, as they are for LIV events. Why the secrecy for signing bonuses?
Ok, i'm in Adelaide where LIV Is in Australia and went to all 3 days this year and last year.. The atmosphere is great... BUT, the music over the loud speaker during the round isn't good IMO. Take that away and it's great.
It's the same everywhere in life. Some people who enjoy quiet things find a place to be happy and enjoy an activity, then loud people show up and think they need to improve it by making it louder ... and quiet people need a new place to go because the only other option is a bloodbath.
Personally, I hate the music at the LIV events. Golf is a game where you're playing a course out in a natural environment. Part of the enjoyment for me (and others) is appreciating and connecting with your surroundings. Playing music is a distraction from that. Another aspect is that there might be music playing that players just can't stand which makes it more distracting.
I acctually like the Drone tracer, neverthought about the fact it could distract the players. BUT the musik, I hate! Just my oppinion, it takes away the look on the game. But as a Liv player you know that and know what you have signed up for. Maybe the announcer or the PGA does not believe LIV is on TV, it's basically an online event!
The problem with something like music is it is subjective. No one enjoys hearing someone else’s music. Whether it’s spilling out from a car at a stop light, from a party next door, or a golf cart on a golf course. In Rahm’s case, he is an emotional outspoken player. Just as several others are. If he had driven that ball down the fairway to the spit he aimed he wouldn’t have said a word about the drone. Just the same, I think the operators need to do better at being less noticeable.
LIV flips the bird at tradition, the PGA is as pure as tradition gets; consequently, the 2 entities have nothing in common except they use the same ball.
Another gossip making something out of nothing. And hell yes they deserve to be able to say what they want. I think the ridiculously loud music and the pissheads need to be toned down a bit.
As a consultant golfer and coach and past experience with liv tournaments, management is heading toward the rights objectives but they are slicing right heavy. The solution is simple but I can't give away too many freebies
Liv golfers are paid to provide entertainment for the fans! PGA does not pay players to provide entertainment! the sponsors pay players based on making the cut and where they finish! Yes, players get bonuses for popularity, but outside of that, if they dont make the cut, that's a big fat $0! Tour players have no ground to stand on! Jay Monahan and the ol' Grey's at the table made this very clear a year ago! They will listen and ask for input, but after that, you won't know whats happening until it's already done!
Give the viewer the best product they can. A pro golfer should be able to be in the zone, their zone. If he got a hole in one would he still be complaining?
There shouldn't be a fine or apologies from the announcers when they curse and happy they just laugh it off. If you don't like it don't watch. Anyone who's played alot of golf knows whats coming
Re: the PGA’s first time drone comment, does LIV coverage count as ‘TV’ isn’t it just on RU-vid? Or am I just not paying enough attention to them that I’ve overlooked that they’re also on TV?
@@oahujuniorgolfassociationc6656 maybe a little but not as much as being pushed. He always treated fans well and talked about changing the game and having a big impact as a young pro. That turned people off then but it doesn’t now
@@LegolasFan69 it’s very complicated. The fact is on the tour he couldn’t control his message and he was being used as a villain; which he opened the door for that while he was being temperamental. But now he has freedom and he controls the message. He has matured a lot as well. These are the many little things why guys left for more than just them money.
I don't even like music in hockey, much less golf. Golf is a quiet, focused and solitary sport. Ozzie tunes are not appropriate. Wear headphones. If fans watch a tournament because of the music, they are really fans.
I liken Liv to the Happy Gilmour tour.... the party hole and noise isn't my thing. I will say, though, I was at the range yesterday. There is a putt putt course that plays loud music literally metres away right next to it, booming music the whole time. I was thinking, what is this LIV Tour. I was surprised it didn't affect my concentration on the range at all 🤷♂️... I see their trying to increase its popularity like Top Golf driving range....... If I was paid 500 to 600 mill I think I would be alright with it..
LIV has 5 maybe 6 players that can actually beat Rahm on any given weekend. Rahm consistently finishing top 7 is where he fits on the LIV exhibition tour. 42 rostered LIV players have zero chance, unless they have a career weekend, of ever beating Rahm. I would expect that Rahm will be on the leader board of future majors on Sundays. He's just that good.
Im a huge rahm fan and can see the frustration and new things to deal with it. However, every player is dealing with it, So learn to adapt and overcome
I think they should innovate the sport but be willing to drop things that don’t work. Drones and music all the time might not be a good addition to the experience the event. Personally I don’t like either.
LIV is going the same way as Caddy Shack 2. I don't get the 54 holes and the scramble start. Scramble starts nullifies the golf course design and layout as the golfer enters the final 4 holes.
Team golf makes no sense to me. LIV can try to promote the idea of team dynamics. Comes off as just trying to make money out of future team brands. Rawness in golf does not compute.
We're not here for silly sales pitches dude and where is the clip of Rhoms meltdown?? Click bait. And as for golf, drones need to be left out, no music on carts or course, phones off or mute or better yet left at home, no betting, no range finders. Time to restore golf back to its ways and make it a respectable game like it was prior to 2010.
Torching LIV… this is just clickbait. As for music, sounds are much easier to tune out when it’s constant. It’s the sudden noises that can really distract during the backswing. You must’ve had a good podcast at some point to get me to subscribe, but this one missed the mark.
Seen that man golf at the Genesis invitational a couple of years ago and I kid you not , he literally be complaining about someone or something every other hole.
Man, you must be hurting for a story. Sounds like someone just had a moment of frustration. Big deal. Cover that whining Rory who took weeks off and didn’t stick around to congratulate Bryson after he collapsed at Pinehurst #2. At least that's a real story.
He just couldn't break through and get a challenge position on Hatton so, he gets pissed at whatever . I think getting distracted is a big problem if you are trying to gain strokes but the drones make watching a lot better, in PGA winning is more important where as LIV it is playing each hole perfect , any win has no special significants. Even winning a major means less because no one dominates. When Jack Nicolas won so so many it made it a thing but today the general market is better, heck RU-vidrs are just as interesting as any pro The festive style of the presentation in a LIV event is due to the change in economy and culture, the old model is much like a mill and a part of gross national productions but with Internet entrepreneurial models are acending
LIV is just just trash exhibition high paying golf with a few very good PGA golfers who took advantage of the $millions paid by the Saudis. Simple as that. All of them want to come back to the PGA, period.
I hate to tell you PGA proxies attacking the LIV golf tour - Its a lot more entertaining than the stiffs walking the fairways of the PGA - after watching LIV the PGA looks like it has all the excitement of a joe biden rally!
