I’ve had Sisterlocks for 16 years and this is my first hot oil treatment so thank you for making this video. Question: I’m buying a bottle of the essential 17 oil, how much of it do I mix in with the other oils?

Great video. I have so been slacking since i went from loose natural to Locs. I am over 2 years loc’d and i have not done a hot oil treatment. I am going to do one this weekend for sure. Thanks for sharing. Love your videos and your Locs.

Your hair is beautiful 😍 I'm a newbie to sisterlocs starting October 17th 22 I've been using rosewater and peppermint and tea oil mix to moisture my locs but it doesn't stay been looking for something to keep them moisturized

Hi Nia your crown looks so healthy and has a natural sheen as a result of the treatment thanks for sharing. A quick question or two! Did you just thoroughly rinse off the excess oils with water only or did you shampoo off? Was the bonnet attached to your blow dryer really satisfactorily effective or would you really recommend purchasing a proper hooded dryer instead (I was a bit wary of keeping the handheld dryer on continually for such a long period but if it works fine with no concerns then I'm happy to take your word for it).

Hi Marcia! I watched a video of someone with SL's and they washed it out with shampoo, but I just rinsed mine out with water. So far the bonnet dryer worked well. I will say that my hand held dryer became quite hot to the touch, but other than that, it performed well and I do not have any concerns at the moment.

Water makes locs dry and after a while they will smell use rose water its better.

It does not make my locs looser. It helps add moisture to my locs.

How often should you do a hot oil treatment for sl?

It varies based on your hair type and how mature your locs are. There really isn’t one perfect answer on my opinion, because different peoples hair maintain moisture differently. I just do one on mine when my hair is feeling and looking very dry.
