Hot Ones: Every Celeb's Favourite Interview Show 

Sean Evans and Nardwuar are the only interviewers that can make people goes "How the F*** You Know That!" Would love to see them interviewing eachother tbh..😆

Your not such a bad presenter / researcher yourself! And you've got seriously good editing skills to back it up. One day you'll have millions of subs.

I think the hotwings act as a control, allowing the interview to travel wherever. Even if the interview is going badly or the guest is dull the wings are always going to add drama and divide the time, add in the editing and you have an interesting and repeatable product that has multiple layers of entertainment

I probably haven't even seen half of them but my favorite moment was when Dave Grohl told Sean that being on his show was a bucket-list moment for him, you could feel the weight of what that meant to Sean. It was almost like THAT was the first real moment Sean realized how big of a deal HE is. It was beautiful, even if they were a little drunk lol

I can't think of enough superlatives Danny. Your content is so-so valuable from an editing perspective. I really think you're like the Casey Neistat of the future storytelling RU-vid generation.

Another great piece. Honestly, the show has gotten to a point where if I don't know the celebrity, I'll watch and be intrested by the genuine connection they display. He really did hit every corner, and there's a video for everyone whether you're familiar with them or not

The reason people like this show (besides watching the reaction to hot sauce) is the guests not just being there talking about their latest project. This is also what made the Craig Ferguson Late Late show so interesting to watch. He'd talk to the guests about just general things too. Most talk shows are just the guests promoting their latest thing that is about to come out and only that.

Thank you for putting this together. Been a fan of Hot Ones since the early seasons, you contextualised everything so well. I think what works about Hot Ones is combining sincerity, respect and history to create that experience of who somebody is, and I appreciate that you just did that for Hot Ones itself. What a great moment in time.

Great video essay. Something I love about Sean Evans interview style is that he isn't trying to upstage the guest at all. He's not trying to make the guests laugh or cater to the film crew or audience. He plays it straight, with thoughtful questions, and lets the guests be themselves.

One of the best videos I’ve seen in a while. You can see how much effort he puts in. Im just surprised he hasn’t been discovered by many people

Its truly astounding, to see pointed out how they really haven't changed the formula for the show since day one But its a testament to just how good the individual elements are The research - can only be done with hard work The editing - can only be done with hard work The hot wings - put the interviewee, and *the interviewer* as well, on the back foot, yet also establishes an empathetic bond between these two, where Sean's only edge is that he's more experienced with the heat The interviewer - Sean is just a good host and interviewer Truly, its incredibly hard to go wrong with this formula, and it shows in the finished product. If any one of these factors were off, this show would have fallen to obscurity. It'd just be a weird experiment that people probably would have looked fondly on, because its clear how it could be done well.

Every time i watch an interview im just so blown away by how good he is. so refreshing

I don't even like hot food or spicy things because I have GERD (really, really bad acid reflux that is barely treatable by medication) and a hiatial hernia at the bottom of my esphogus. I f-ing love this webseries because the questions are just SO good, the chemistry Sean has with his guests is undeniable and each and every episode shows me a side of my favorite celebs that no one else in the industry seems to even wanna talk about, let alone ask about. I didn't know the backstory about the show, and I love it even more now knowing it was just a couple of guys who wanted to make something different and I am so glad you made this video!

Sean definitely toke the idea of deep research to the next level with the idea behind but its worth giving Narwur the credit for this style of research. He's been doing it for over a decade and he laid the blueprint for that particular style.

Nice video! Sean has a great cadence when asking his questions that, along with the deep dives he does to find the unique trivia, just pulls people in so that when the guest responds, we are already invested.
