I like the fact that this guy at least stores the stuff somewhat properly. Some people buy lots of stuff and then let it sit and become ruined. All this is still salvageable.

Met an older gentleman the other day had a 48 Ford sedan w/ suicides with a blown 392 Hemi and a LaSalle tranny. Built in the late 50's and early 60's, still all original. He also had a '55 Chrysler also a 392 Hemi except it had an era correct four barrel setup.

The body is Australian, with American dash, steering, etc. Bodies are interchangeable as are the dash, steering, etc. Aussie bodies also use wood structure in doors and body whereas American doors have metal skin and less wood in body. Those are the main differences.

Hoarder. "I'll restore it someday" led to the loss of so many cars with potential. If you haven't done anything with it for more than 5 or 10 years, let someone else enjoy it!

Hello, My name is Teresa Scott and I am in search of my fathers first car, a 1951 Ford Custom Deluxe 2 door coupe with a flathead V8 and 3 speed straight shift on the column. The original color was baby blue. He then completely customized it in 1957. My father is turning 80 in December and I would like to at least have a picture of this car to give him at his party Dec. 07. He sold it around 1959-1962 in Lima, Ohio. His name is William (Bill) R. Johns. Can you help with this? The following are the customization's he did to the car in hopes this information will help find the car if its still around. I am afraid I do not have the VIN number. Painted it black and white/ installed seat covers(black & white)/painted all the interior metal trim black and side panels black and white/ added fender skirts on rear and painted all wheels black/added Olds Starfire wheel covers/ removed several emblems on side and trunk, hood ornament/ replaced muffler with a glass pack type/lowered the rear of the car 4 inches at the axel/ cut the bottom of the steering wheel off/ added exhaust cutout/moved the shift lever to the opposite side/modified the dash to add a hidden compartment/ wired hidden switch on tail lights, brake lights and license plate light. Yes, he was a bit of a rebel. Ended up retiring as Fiber Optic Engineer. Turns out he had a genius IQ. lol Any suggestions to help me find this car would be greatly appreciated!! Sincerely, Teresa Scott teriscott1966@gmail.com

Hate me all you want but when these people die it will be a better day for the hobby. This guys selfish, hoarding of cars and parts is a big problem in this hobby. If all the vehicles he had were drivers and he drove a different one every day I'd be ok with that. But, just to hoard parts with no realistic time, ability, or money to finish so many is f'ed up.
@paulquince5470
@paulquince5470 8 лет назад
These hoarding guys buy rare cars and other interesting memorabilia and go stick it in a remote shed or barn Most often it sits and get rustier and it's eventually sold by the widow cheap. What a waste and an exhibition a strange kind of greed. Sell it to the guy who will get the car fixed up, love it and get it on the street used and enjoyed you silly old selfish fools!
