I love you Grandma Lynda! Is there a reason all grandmas cant be as awesome as you? Thanks so much for sharing. It makes me miss cooking with my granny,
Hey grandma lynda, thanks for posting your recipe! I hope it is ok with you to change a few things up a bit, but you and your fabulous kitchen have given me a great place to start. We just started our gardens out here in Denver, and I've started a TON of great unique peppers that I will be using (7 Pot Caramel, Ancient Sweet Orange, Carolina Reaper, Chocolate Cherry, Grenada Seasoning, Mystery Mediterranean, Trepada). Anyhow, thanks again!
Omg... I wear a mask and glasses! You are one tough cookie! LOL. Loved your video. I roast, ferment and cook down/nutri bullet the peppers, add molasses and apple cider vinegar and can. I like it on eggs too. God bless!
That recipe looks good. We don't eat much in the way of hot sauce, but we do eat it on our tacos and I like it on scramble eggs, too. Thanks for sharing.
If you try this recipe and don't like it super hot maybe stick to banana peppers and jalapeno peppers. 8 scotch bonnets plus the jalapeno are really really hot. Should have had the glass of egg nog beside me instead of in by my computer. yow that was hot.
You are adorable Grandma Lynda. I will definitely try making this hot sauce. I dont use Splenda but I do use coconut sugar. That will probably work just fine.
I taught my sons to cook and a friend laughed at me since it was girls who should cook. I asked her if she was teaching her daughter and she said "no way it is too messy" got a laugh out of that one but life is messy so small messes in the kitchen are much easier to clean up. thanks so much for commenting.
Thanx for the video Lynda. I've never made hot sauce at home. I do make salsa. I learned about scotch bonnets the hard way to. Them puppies are to hot for me and I like heat.
Wow I wanted this super hot but I didn't realize it was going to be that super hot. I am going to make salsa with canned tomatoes and the rest of the jalapeno peppers. I got a deal on large cans of tomatoes today. $1 a can so bought enough to make the salsa. I don't usually buy canned anything but these are a good quality and at that price I figured why not. Will try for a video on how I do that. I am still learning the spicey stuff and maybe others can learn with me.
I like mild maybe medium. This is kind of get even or show up a child. A 37 year old child but my child non-the less. He says mine is always too mild so I used the scotch bonnets. You can use milder peppers like I will next time. He is getting 10 of the jars our neighbour will get at least one. He likes things hot. thanks for commenting and watching.
Justin can't answer your post directly. They do treat me like a queen actually. :) Don makes better fudge than I do but I do a mean pan of brownies. Haven't made them in years since he can't have them. :(
I'm going to get sadistic & brew an IIPA Imperial India Pale Ale with ghost & fatalii's peppers in it! Then a hot sauce with ghost, fatalii's & scorpions in it. Just to use'em up & save for winter use...
+Katherine Sims as long as they learn. my sons are both pretty good cooks and my DIL is a wonderful baker so with teachers like that they should eat well. :)
+Katherine Sims live on the north shore of lake superior in Ont. Canada. so yes it is bitter right now. just glad my son has to walk down the yard to get my GD from the school bus. nice being grandma and sending parent out to do the nasty stuff. :)
oh yes, you are right...My husband and I keep our 8 months old great grandbabby , 4 days a week...We love keeping her, but so nice when she goes home :)
Thank you. I would love to see that as well. I sent him a few jars but he is working away from home and it sits on a shelf until he gets there probably around Christmas. My other son says he will give it a try and I will show a video of what I serve it with. :)
If I did these for us it would be an almost 11 year supply. But my son likes it hot so he will get them for birthday and Christmas presents. This amount would probably last him a year. For us I would only use the banana peppers they are not so hot.
Lynda....YOU ARE SO ADORABLE!!!!!!!! I JUST WANNA COME AND HUG YOU!!!!! Sorry I had to freak out! But you are really adorable.... your hot sauce looks amazing! I would LOVE to make my own one day even though the only thin that is spicy to me is a ghost pepper.... that's the only thing that is spicy to me (that I've tried...)
Don't know about better but both my boys are good cooks and like me they rarely follow a recipe. I tried salsa to make it hot but I liked it. I have done it with canned tomatoes and fresh and can't tell the difference. Going to make some in the next couple days to use up the peppers from this hot sauce. Just no scotch bonnets. Don't know if I will make a video as mine is far from the traditional.
I don't know if you've ever tried, or used Splenda, but I think it's HORRIBLE! I used it in a diabetic friendly cherry pie and it tasted awful! I threw it out!
I have used it for a couple of years now and hardly ever have sugar in the house. The secret is us about 1/2 what the recipe calls for or it is way too sweet and does leave an after taste.
Lynda I love your videos I am new at this and if you could mention my channel it would help me out a whole lot and I would appreciate it so much ...Thank you
+Nick Freyermuth glad you enjoyed it. my 2 current cats do not like tuna but all my others loved it. So they got it. they all lived to be in their 20's so I don't think it is all that bad for them. Monster likes to steal bits of tuna sandwiches but Squeak ignores it most of the time. :)
FANTASTIC !!!! You are the best wife and mom .. and I hope these two fellas you are doin all this work for .. do nice stuff for you as well .. if not ...SHAME SHAME SHAME LOL
