It’s actually unbelievable really, isn’t it Jerry? MAYBE it’s like everything else now days it seems, where there are so many people who EXPECT others, to do their work, an example being horse owners expecting their farrier to train THEIR horse good manners, and another example being, parents expecting their children’s teacher, to literally teach THEIR child everything, like how to greet people, again, the good manners, simply anything and everything. People certainly are becoming increasingly lazy and I’m assuming they feel as though it’s so much easier for them, if others actually do the job that they are supposed to be doing. It blows my mind really🤷🏼♀️😬
Oliver is so gentle and kind. I forget he is a stallion. Very amazing animal, trained well and aims to please you JR. Love being able to be a part of Oliver's travels. Thank you ❤
Ruben is what is called a master artisan. He knows stuff other farriers will never learn. Oliver was very good. Well done JR it is a sign of your input and training.
Yes, let's see Ruben's competition. I have always enjoyed watching a good farrier work. I always trained my horses to stand like Oliver does. My farrier was very appreciated it !!.
I fully agree. They also need locking up for treating him so badly. Oliver was one of the lucky ones he found someone and thousands of people who loved him enough to save him. I WONDER ABOUT THE OTHER HORSES AND HOW THEY ARE OR EVEN STILL ALIVE. If they would treat one of their horses that badly what state the rest were in. 😢
I would love to see Rueben n the competition! He is a true tradesman!!! Definitely could show some of the farriers I’ve seen, on other channels, a few things! A master craftsman 🌟👍🏻
they had a large herd on that horse property and while they were there a Clydesdale that he shared a own with passed away in there. I hope the income from Olliver will go to medicine for the others. But he said that the authorities have been made aware. The owners apparently do not take care of their livestock . 😢
This guy is the best farrier that I have ever seen! Especially when you consider someone's standing over him recording and asking questions the whole time!
@@homesteadhorsemanship I grew up with a few show horses who were shod with pre manufactured shoes. The artistry required for a custom front set takes so much more time even compared to shaping a premade to a hoof. Reuben is a god send for Oliver
If every horse had a team like Oliver does. A trainer, a farm, a farrier, a vet, a few friends, decent nutrition and a job. Oh what a wonderful world it would be. Nice work to ALL of you! Also, could those bumps have been hives of some sort? Oh and I'am Team Reuben!!
It also seemed like maybe OLIVER was confused by the backup command at that moment. When JR came around toward the 4th hoof after lifting 3, OLIVER started to pick up his 4th hoof automatically -- knowing JR was coming toward it. You can see OLIVER start to lift hoof #4. OLIVER is so SMART.
Oliver is a very impressive stallion. I am so impressed by his ability to stand still without stocks and be an excellent, calm horse for the farrier. Great job of training him JR and thanks for showing us how you did it.
Yay Oliver!!!!! You GO boy!!! Daddy is proud of you and so are we!!! JR, I sure like that ferrier! He's so smart and pleasant. I think part of why Oliver stands so well for him is he senses his gentle nature also. ❤
J. R., I would love to see a video of Rueben's competition. Rueben is so interesting to listen to. I love the way he explains not only what he is doing to a shoe, but why he does what he does. Oliver is doing so well, standing for the farrier like he does. And not being tied shows how good he has been trained. You did good.
Hello from KY! I would love to see the farrier competition you mentioned. That would be a fun video. Oliver was an angel for his shoeing. Such a good boy!
🎉Reuben!!!! Love watching him explaining horse shoeing! What amazing info!!! Way to go Oliver! You did good!!!❤❤❤ We need the horseshoe contest video!!
Coming from a fellow farrier, people willing to work on drafts is rare. He does an awesome job and the fact he competes and puts his work out to be judged by peers is awesome. I would do what you can to keep him! Also it’s awesome the time you put in to make it easier to handle him!
Thank you. I tried 8 farriers before I found him. None willing. He was apprehensive because he doesn’t need the work. I had to promise that he would behave like an angel no stocks needed.
Please 🙏 go to the competition!!!! Not only super informative, but we can cheer on our new favourite Farrier!!! Great to support such a talented hardworking young man 🙌
I think Oliver is so very grateful to be so lovingly cared for, that all that positivity is coming out in pure gratitude. Well done, JR. Really, you should consider writing A book. Your insights are worth sharing.
Oliver looks great sporting his new shoes, Reuben is an amazing farrier, old school making shoes from stock is an art in itself, all that bending over must take it’s toll on a farriers back, great video to watch Jarred, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Your wonderful training of Oliver really shows at the farrier. Rueben is a true artisan. Oliver is one of a kind and your bond with him is just priceless. Really enjoy your videos.
I love Oliver. He's such a good boy. It's very impressive, especially for a stallion. Most are always paying attention elsewhere, and hard to get them to stand still.
He is such a good stud. I thought double registered Appaloosa Quarterhorse was pretty good but in hindsight he was nothing compared to Oliver. It really never occurred to me back then to train him to be easy for the farrier. This was the days before You Tube. Hope one day I get another horse but I'm getting up there at 59 so I probably won't ever have another but live vicariously through guys like you.
Would like to see the competition. Love Oliver's new shiny shoes. Great job Ruben. Oliver is such a good boy! He stood for such a long time to get his new shoes. Thanks JR you have loved him and trained him very well!
Love to see Reubens competition love his knowledge and expertise thankyou for sharing all this . Oliver is a wonderful boy you are doing such a great job with him .
Yes please let's see Ruden's competition. He is do good with Oliver. I can't believe how far Oliver has come in less than a year. He is so lucky to have all of you
Every time I watch one of Oliver’s videos at the farrier I learn so much about hoof care, the art of the farrier putting new shoes on, and now the advantages of using hand made horse shoes vs using store bought shoes. Oliver was such a good boy at the farrier’s and your training sessions with him have really helped him stand still and be more patient with the entire process. Great job on Oliver’s continued training and your wonderful, educational videos. Well done,JR and Oliver!❤🧲🐴👍
That rash looks like it could be right under the harness collar. Make sure your tack is clean and free of mold, and that the collar rests the way it should on his shoulders.
YES..I'D LOVE TO SEE REUBEN AT THE COMPETITION..he was so chuffed when you asked him if he'd be embarrassed with you cheering him on..that will be fantastic..he sure knows what he was doing..l know nothing of farriering but he made those shoes from scratch just that flat piece of iron..he is an artist at work..not buying the ready made ones and l think a horse 🐎 like our Oliver fits them perfectly..Lets go Reuben lets go..I'm so looking forward to that video now..what a lovely guy he is.. l have to say how well behaved was Oliver..that work you did with him has paid off..he is such a quick learner ..and for Ruben too say best horse he ever shoed bearing in mind how many he has done ..l bet you were floating on air with pure pride at Oliver WE all know how special Oliver is..but the people that are meeting him are learning about him too..he is a credit to you JR..all the training you've done with him..l do think a lot of it comes from being rescued..l foster and rehabilitate neglected and abused cats and I've always found they show so much love for you because they appreciate good kind humans because they know what a 💩ty life can be like.. his feet look mighty fine with his hand made shoes..🇬🇧💞✝️🙏👏👍🐎🇺🇸
Oliver has an absolutely perfect Clydesdale temperament. He is a sweetheart and I'm so grateful to you for rescuing him and then teaching him so much with your firm but gentle training methods. So impressive all around: horse, trainer and farrier. And yes, by all means, if you can make it, please go to the contest to cheer for Rueben. We will be cheering for him too.
Reuben is a wonderful teacher and friend to you JR....His expertise is awesome ....Yes I would love to view his competition skills for sure....Oliver you are a beautiful soul.....
Very interesting video, as seen from a city abode in Oslo, Norway. You are good with people - and animals, JR! Nice to see your interacting with the Amish neighbors. Do go to that contest and bring back some footage to us devoted Rosa family viewers.
My goodness, I had no idea shoeing a horse was so complicated and full of talent on the part of the farrier. It must take years to learn. I'm so impressed.
Yes, competition please! Let’s go Ruben, let’s go! The whole process is fascinating! When I was a kid, our farrier didn’t do all that Ruben does. Of course, mine wasn’t a nice man either, plus he came to our farm so he could only bring so much equipment. Those shoes are red hot! Wonder how many times Ruben burned himself when he was learning.
So it’s the weekend and I’m binge watching again…I Love it!! I just got done with Oliver’s first trip to the ferrier and this pops in!! So happy to be watching this!! Thanks so much for sharing all you do!! I’ve fallen totally and completely in love with Oliver!!
I'd love to see the competition. Ruben is an artist in my opinion. And hard working! It's definitely a lot of work to shoe Oliver. He is such a good boy. When he put that hot shoe on his foot I cringed. It's amazing it doesn't burn. Thank you for sharing JR. Very educational.
I would very much enjoy watching Reuben's shoeing contest. I hope you take us to see it. Oliver is being so good, I hope he gets a treat when he gets home.
