Hot springs and sake in Echigo Yuzawa 

I went to Echigo Yuzawa because I wanted to soak in a hot spring. Echigo Yuzawa in Niigata has ski resorts and hot springs, and is only 90 minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen.
They have delicious rice and delicious sake, and the salmon is also very delicious. Echigo-Yuzawa Onsen is the model for the novel Yukiguni by Yasunari Kawabata, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature.
