This series got me to play ootp 23 bc my dad had an extra code. Took over the Angels, traded Ohtani and Isaiah Kiner-Falefa and some prospect for Franciso Lindor. Traded Hunter Renfroe for IKF and a SP prospect who is a 2 star rating but has a potential of 75 stuff. OOTP is surprisingly fun for a game thats basically just a spreadsheet.

I think you need to work on your lineup construction. I know its your series and your playing it, but at a glance it just looks wrong right now with the numbers you have. If Cuvet has a 408 obp and Mears has a 249 obp why is Mears hitting 3rd and Cuvet 4th? Their putting together the same power year. Its draft day. You've had so long to change this. I didn't get to see Baker's underlying numbers so maybe he's having a better year than his baseline numbers suggest, but .215 in the one hole would not cut it for me. I know you don't have a lot to work with, but maybe try either of the .250's who are having ok years in leadoff and see if they stick. Just move people around, even a little bit. Try to find something that works. And for the love of god stop putting your player hitting .179 who strikes out 250 times a year in your top 3 in the order. I don't know how much experience you have with lineup building, or how comfortable you are with it, but I think it's an area of improvement that will have tangible effects on your record. I've seen stuff like that throughout the series so I figure I should point it out so that it might help in the future. I fear the A's under John Fischer might just be cursed and there is no way to save them, but if you want to try, you have to be perfect. ps. love the main channel content, keep it up :)

It is hard for me to pass on a guy like Tim Lamb, he seems so developed for being a high school arm. I imagine he can start in High A, and maybe even be AA next year.
yeah but his demand is higher than his entire draft budget he almost certainly couldn't get him. I agree though likely an all time great. hopefully he heads off to college

I know why you picked the As but whyyy did you pick the As?? It’s gonna take til at least the early 2060s to have a shot at a title. The computer generated players on your future world series team havent even been born yet.

even though you were doing fairly well, you’re not going to compete for a title this year. don’t be afraid to ship off some guys at the deadline like the O’s did in 2022 (trey mancini and jorge lopez).
