"Hot Stuff" is a song by American singer Donna Summer from her seventh studio album Bad Girls (1979), produced by English producer Pete Bellotte and Italian producer Giorgio Moroder and released as the lead single from Bad Girls in 1979 through Casablanca Records. Up to that point, Summer had mainly been associated with disco songs but this song also showed a significant rock direction.
Played on my Alan Brason Custom Stratocaster fitted with Kinman FV-HMS pickups on Bridge position through an Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with EFTP patch 1-66 (Abbey Road Reverb) I added a small amount of Over Drive from a Boss OS-2 Pedal and sustain from a Boss CS-2

So glad you liked it Olav ! I missed out the solo for 2 reasons 1) I didn't want to spend ages learning it. 2) All the Karaoke BT's had the solo on there and I didn't want to play over the top so I just removed the solo from the BT and made it a but shorter :-) All the best Phil

Hi Chris - thanks for your great comments - yes I am going through a Disco phase !! LOL - What I like about this song is that I still love it now over 50 years later and it still sound's fresh to me.. I heard that opening riff on the radio recently and thought I must do that one so made a note of it.. The original has a fantastic guitar solo played by Jeff "Skunk" Baxter who is a brilliant guitarist and played on Steely Dan records. I knew the solo would take me ages to learn and ALL the BT's had the solo on there ! so playing over the top would be an insult to Jeff ! LOL so I modified the BT to remove the solo which then allows me to share it for free.. All the best Phil

Many thanks Dave !! There is an awesome solo on the original but all the BT's had it on so rather than play over the top (that's my excuse) I cut it out altogether and made the BT shorter. Thanks for those good comments Tom ! I've got used to sticking 3 video cameras on tripods in the same place every time and pressing record as I do with the simultaneous Cubase recording on my computer !! It's just me - My son has made loads of BT's for me in the past but on this occasion I used one of the many YT Karaokes and modified it as they all had a guitar solo on there and I didn't want to duplicate it and play over the top - so I removed it altogether and shortened the song. and made the BT a free download. Hi Phil! An awesome rendition of this Disco classic and brilliantly played with a fantastic sound. Loved the sound of the backing track too.
