this version of the armory is light years better than the cheap looking acrylic one that is coming soon , and this version is a must have for any new collector that love the dark knight movies, this one comes with way better premium armory with a cool suit too
If anyone bought the DKR armory because they didn't like it but thought this one would never come back are idiots. The two armories are completely different things from different movies. This is like Hot Toys releasing 2 different Spider-men. Do collectors get pissed then? This is a 2.0 of a 10 year old piece. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
this is way cooler than the one that is coming, also is way better paying 600 instead of 900 for the original that is going on ebay lol.also this one have usb power
I’ll be honest, they should have done this armoury in the first place. Surprised there is no Alfred though. So we all agree that we will get Artisan TDK Figure in July right
4:45 …and that sir is why they do it. There’s still collectors like you who will order it cause you didn’t get it the first time. This cost them nothing. Their R&D cost is covered on the first releases so their production cost is minimal.
I'm honestly not surprised at all seeing how toys track record for 2.0s Just remember ladies and gentlemen, hot toys is one of the OG's in the 1/6 scale game. Now that this game is massive with tons of other companies even third party companies trying their hand at figures. Hot Toys has been re-releasing figures in the dark night franchise since the MMS version of the TDK suit. Then came the DXO2 with the leaky abs. Dx12 which I have and I'm happy with still. My toys are also released the same armory less than 10 years ago I believe. It's definitely a nice piece. It will all come down to people's extra money and space to display and purchase this. I take it looks fantastic but I also don't have extra money to buy one of these. No space either. I really would love them to visit Batman begins and give us that armory which is like an armoire. But who knows
Its odd the troopers (black & white) w/DS environment, Imperial Commando (BB), Obi Wan (Mandalorian armor), etc were just announced but are already out. The timing of announcements/releasing BM DX19, DKR armory, DK armory 2.0, etc seems odd too. These actions were probably planned at least yr or two ago. HT must anticipate how collectors will respond. Most businesses make decisions in order to make a max profit. The current state of global economy makes those decisions harder. I'm sure on the business side (capital, logistics, etc) of HT there are things going on that we are not aware of. W/that being said its hard to know mindset of HT. Enjoyed your video. I agree with you Mr. Mom, I wish they would do other things instead Dark Knight it's feeling like the Mandalorian line and they should be more innovative with doing other DC characters like Jim Carrey Riddler or Michelle Pfeiffer.
HT is leading from behind right now. You’re right. They are all reaction and nothing new generated on their own. They will stay the king for a while but not forever like this. They need to do something new to capture their own hype.
As I mentioned I understand it’s business that’s the obvious I’m just talking from a collectors point of view. Saying it’s business is the obvious that can answer all the decisions they do. Just looking at it from a different perspective but at the end of the day hot toys will do what makes sense for them.
I think a lot of this 2.0 cycle right now is due to the writers strike and lack of new content to make new products based on. Marvel is also heavily slowing down, so I think this trend will continue the entire year, but look for the Deadpool movie and Acolyte show pump out a ton of C level and variant characters.
The figures are always better and better though. I’m out of the game, but I would also like to see Scarecrow, Alfred, Mr Fox, BANE. Incredible though, TDK was 2008 ? Longevity. Hot toys used to make Military figures, they made a Chris Walken figure, Ethan Hunt from MI2, a Keanu Reaves SWAT figure. At this point I would be more excited to see them remake those figures, or MATRIX figures. If you have collected a while, you have to find other sources to get head sculpts or clothing you would like to add to your collection. It’s unfortunate that it’s a bit “same old same” but it likely sells and it’s a safe bet.
Hot Toys is a Marvel Legends high end line 😂... they just kept squeezing what they can with the DC license they have...they could not even get Gal Gadot's likeness after multiple attempt - same with Heath's Joker, if it wasnt for InArt, that Artisan version wouldnt happen...but then its good for those who werent there when the TDK line started - now we have options
They will never do a Batman Begins armory. Hot Toys shows no love for Batman Begins and it’s the best Batman film ever made. It’s a complete joke. I love the Keaton films, the first one was the first movie I ever saw in theaters. Batman Begins is just perfection though. I had to go and spend a whole lot of money to improve the most recent third reissue of the Hot Toys Batman Begins figure and I’m probably still not done spending money on it, to be honest. I really want a head that has multiple faceplates and moving eyes, but the OT Customs head seems rather difficult to get. And I’m hoping one gets made out of actual pvc or plastic.
Hot toys are just reactionary at this point. If it wasn't for the other companies entering the market, we would still be getting variation of iron mans.
I’m always for other companies coming into the collectible game because at the end of the day more options for collectors is never a bad thing, but it is interesting to see how hot toys response to some of it. I won’t lie.
I think Hot Toy's main problem in the effective end of the MCU and the utter failure of the DC movie universe. 80% of their releases are Star Wars- related. As a SW fan I don't mind, but it's just too much stuff. And they do have some serious competition from companies such as InArt, SooSoo, and Mars Toys as 3rd party cos have seriously upped their game recently.
My gripe is it's too much too soon, these sets are $800 a piece CAD. I want them, I will enjoy them, but for the price I expect a bit more, for example, the mouth plates, none!? No other expressions between two of these high end releases? Glad this one at least has a fully articulated Bruce
Im a big collector I don't own a channel but I know about be a collector and feel the changes for good or bad but looks like is a win win for the ones upgraded the collection and much better for the new collectors.
I'm in agreement, I prefer Begins out all three. Would have preferred Scarecrow 2.0 and Ra's. Every Nolan villain has gotten a 2.0 since the 2019 Toy Fair Two-Face, except those two. Scarecrow with Cillian Murphy's head sculpt, and non-sculpted/material used Scarecrow mask is a wishlist of mine. Howard and his team doesn't seem to care for Begins. Also to your point about Pfeiffer Catwoman - there's no way in my personal opinion Howard is gonna take the L on that. I personally think he will clap back with his own Pfeiffer - maybe also as an Artisan and to make a further statement he would also deliver DeVito's Penguin. That would put a stomp on things lol. All these companies now one upping each other.
Why not instead release more Original Trilogy Star Wars figures that we still don't have like Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO from ESB, tons of muppets they could do from ROTJ. Or how about some 2.0's from ANH? Still waiting on a 2.0 of Indiana Jones from Raiders of the Lost Ark, an Indy from TOD and Last Crusade, plus Dr. Henry Jones would be nice. Clara Clayton in her purple dress from Back to the Future Part III, especially since we've got all the other characters and DeLorean's to pose them/replicate the movie posters. How about a 2.0 of Batman from Batman Returns, and a Penguin and Catwoman too? Had they done the Batman from Batman Forever in what's known as the "panther suit" rather than the "sonar suit" I would have bought one. Riddler, Two-Face? How about Obi-Wan Kenobi from The Phantom Menace and all the other characters from the prequels they've barely touched. It's insane the amount of licenses they have to other films and characters but haven't done anything with them. As a hardcore Back to the Future fan, I want more BTTF figures. Marty in the Radiation Suit, Doc from Part II in his brown pants and yellow shirt and Marty in his leather jacket that they teased a few years ago, with new head sculpts of course. Biff Tanner, Griff Tannen, Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen. How about scaled down version of Doc's time travelling train from the end Part III, since no toy company has every made a toy of that vehicle in the 34 years since it's release. Ugh, come on Hot Toys.
Because wouldn’t you rather have all those flavor of the week figures from the hit show Ahsoka??? Personally I think Marrok the fart cloud is a much more important AND iconic character than padawan Obi Wan Kenobi!
All I know is, I’m sick of cheep materials, pleather! A lack or effect RnD, usb and removal of button batteries. A lack of figure completion, Baze Malbus! Regurgitation of Iron Man and Batman! Value for money, not just the same figure released again and again with a different paint job and very few accessories. And finally, and this will never happen but a services and parts supply. Any way, it’s time to start selling before the market is completely bust.
It deff looks like they competing against JND studios to be cheaper. I had the first issue of this and it was typical cheap feeling flimsy plastic by hot toys. I doubt this will feel any better and it’s a price hike. Still curious if hot toys ever solved the elbow sticking out issue where the pad connects to the gauntlet.
actually it give whoever dont have the 1.0~ You dont need to own every one piece of batman. Maybe it for people likw me who just join HT colection 3years ago, I do need one of this and it USB powered. I cant get the 1.0 because the price is expensive on aftermarket Since here alot is your fanbase, soon I gonna be bombard with hate word.
I saw this video and I collect since 2006 the 1/6 scale and I own the first armory and now we get a new one but you have to understand the first one came out years ago and now we get a lot upgrades like example M3 the first one when came out every one was happy and if you read the comments in that time be like this is crazy we get last year the new M3 I own it too and I'm really happy this not a trick from HT they know the money is waiting and they give us the chance and election for buying or not but the know is new generation of collectors the ones want the old ones they are missing but upgrade...sorry buddy but your video and the tittle is attractive but you talking nonsense.
I appreciate your comment and feedback and thank you for watching. If you have watched me for a while I have made multiple videos on my channel explaining why 2.0 are a good thing overall and that from a business perspective, it brings in new customers who will ultimately buy more than pre-existing collectors that have curated Collections already. My issues with this piece is hot toys just gave us another one and it’s too coincidental with other manufacturers, putting out things that it is triggering hot toys to be more reactionary than putting out quality pieces that actually means something. as I said in my video, I did in fact pre-order this but it’s an interesting situation and I’m just being honest with my reaction towards it and with many of the comments on this video it seems people do feel the same way that it’s something more reactionary seeing as we don’t even have the other armory in hand yet. At the end of the day, I say this multiple times they are business and they’re going to do what makes the money to keep them in business, but just from a collectors point of view, it looks more reactionary than anything else. 🤙
Good discussion. Not surprised nor disappointed in this announcement. Ryan, you ask why do we have this? I'm with you wanting something different but I think the answer is a lack of (good) DC content to make from to keep their DC license and market visibility active - courtesy of the writer/studio impasse (same with SW, Marvel, etc. with those HT releases) and studio-head changes. Seems HT has little option but to revisit previous figs that sell worldwide and the data I've seen says Batman is the go-to. There are also newer collectors to appease. Luckily, I don't have the DX19 or other armories, so I'm in on this (though I'm not new to the game).
The solution is simple. If people stop buying these hashed, remake, re-imagined, and RECYCLED figures like these then Hot Toys is going to stop making these GARBAGE FIGURES! The fact that people rant on it but still buys it is normal that Hot Toys is going to milk it. It's a simple Law of supply and demand

But most buyers are fed up with the same recycled, re hashed figures over and over again. And like what I said if you don't like it don't buy it and support it. It's that simple. Last I do like recycled figures and so does half the community because not everybody had the money back then to spend four to five hundred dollars on a Batman Armory . Bye cupcakes 🧁

As I said, this IP needs to be put on the back burner from all companies. You want to do reissues/2.0 give me other licenses so I can update the figures from 10 years ago.
