Iron Man is Hot Toys' "Bread n Butter" -- but which are the BEST? If you haven't already, check me out with these these figures and more on my Instagram page! / keco.collects
Cant argue with the list from a pure figure perspective. But I bias for the mark 85 BD, 100% agree it sits only in 1 pose, but its too iconic and symbolic to not be one of my favorite figures, period.
Your top 10 picks are definitely legit! I am an Iron Man collector so I get/have all of them but my number one will always be Hulkbuster and coming in a close second is the Mark 7. I really enjoyed this post. Thank you for sharing your top 10 with all of us. Happy collecting!! 🤗
I agree with most of this list. Your top 2 is the same as mine. I prefer the clean Mark 85 over the battle damage. I could see the Mark 3 2.0 and the exclusive comic book IronMan sneaking into the top 5 when I get my hands on thoses. Love theses top 10 videos. You should do a favorite Captian America, Spiderman and top Star Wars hot toys.
Awesome video Keco! I was initially gonna sell my Diecast mark VI in favor of the new gantry set that’s coming out but you convinced me to keep the old one to pair with the mark I war machine figure with that magnificent pose!
Excellent list! I actually have the Civil War Iron Man arriving in two days. Unfortunately it’s the new one without the head sculpt which is a bummer. Great content as always my guy! 👊🏻
Thanks for the great video! It's always fun seeing someone essentially gush and analyze their collection! It's also fun to see how different people prioritize different things when picking favorites. Despite not loving the overall designs of the nanotech armors, I'm a sucker for the BD Mk 85, so that's my favorite personally (all the accessories + my favorite Stark face sculpt). I re-pose him with Infinity War Iron Spider regularly, so he gets mileage outside of the snap pose for me. My favorite suit of all time is Mk 7 though. I'm really looking forward to the suit-up version releasing next year-ish. I know it's not //technically// IM, but Mech Test Tony is another fave of mine. If I were ranking Hot Toys, probably: 1. Mk 85 BD 2. Mk 4 (though I shouldn't include this because I have the 1/4 scale not the 1/6 scale so it's not a fair comparison) 3. Mk 5 suit-up (The head sculpt puts it up there for me. RDJ likeness is important to me with the Stark sculpts). 4. Mk 7(lol RIP my fave suit but not my fave figure). 5. Mk 46 (something about the helmet on this one isn't my favorite, but the RDJ sculpt is really good and the overall suit and base are awesome.) Hulkbuster is spectacular, though, just not a fit for my collection (at the moment...lol) so it's not as high on my tier list I guess. Haha we really have gotten a lot of really stellar IM figures. Spoiled for choice.
I have the actual IM2 mark 4 sunglasses! The Vonzipper Fulton BRE red checkered sunglasses! I also the mark 4 was my first toy. I just got the mark 3 2.0 i get it mailed tommorrow from Sideshow. I finslly got my waitlist allocation. My favorite scene is the donut shop scene with Fury and you see him wesring the Vonzipper sunglasses!
To me, the best one would be the mark 39 Starboost, but yes is part of the “party house protocol”, saw a few reviews and just has exchangeable hands and a different mask, the build of the figure it self is actually unique. But decided to buy the War Machine mark 1 (re-issue)
My 1st and only Ironman is on its way. To me the new Classic Ironman from the comics is the best. With out that one the MSU one wouldn't be. Great video as always keep up the great work👍🏼
XLVI, Hulkbuster and VI are my top 3 favorites. L was my first Hot Toys figure. Just ordered Mark III 2.0 A few days ago. Not my favorite armor but I still like it A lot.
Ash Williams (Army of darkness) have more equivalents of Ghost Rider, dr strange, Iron Man, Thor, Hercules, Captain America and Hulk from others dimensions, Ash or Guts / Gatsu (berserk) have the Armor godkiller or Titanium Man, Psylocke made the Love with Ash, Antonio from 1610 / ultimate Armor is like a robot
Great list! At about #8 I called the Mk. XLVII as your #1 and when you got to the Mk. VII rank and then Mk. VI at #2 (which has never dropped below 2nd favorite of mine) I started wondering how important CW was to you. Plus you said “the iconic red and gold” a few times when you ranked Mk. V and Mk. II which made me feel that you’d probably choose the Mk. XLVI. It’s a great figure with great impact like you said but to me the Mk. XLVII always just looked a bit better and interesting. Funnily enough, when it was first announced and so much of the community was either angry, disgusted or confused I took a chance and ordered a case of 6. I made a nice little profit!
Great selections. I have all except the Mark 2. My all time favorites are the Mark VII and the Mark 44 Hulkbuster. Mark 4, Mark 6 and Mark 3 complete my list. Mark 46 and Mark 5 are runner ups for me. I collect all the armors anyway. Even the suit up Suit up Silver Centurion which a lot of folks dislike😊😊😊.😊😊
Excellent video! I just picked up my first 2 Hot Toys figures. Is there a figure stand arm that is strong enough to hold a diecast figure in flight mode? What would you recommend, and where can I buy it? Thanks!
I just started my collection this year and at first I was just going to get one diffinitive Ironman, which obviously was a foolish thought. My collection of top 5 figures including those on peorder are 5. Mark 46 4. Mark 85 (clean) 3. Mark 5 2. Mark 6 2.0 1. Mark 3 2.0
Mark 46 is my top favorite of all times as well. If I could only have one iron man, it would be this one. I prefer it more than the futuristic look of mark 50 and 85. PS: love these top 10 videos
Me again, hey i was thinking you should do your top 10 mcu marvel villains in 1/6 collection, and which you would recommend us the audience getting, i would enjoy it
Great video Keco. I think your pacing has gotten to a great place. Definitely think there are also enough Spiderman and Batman figures out there to warrant their own separate top 10s
I just bought the Mark 4 Diecast with Gantry 1/6 scale on eBay for £300. Seller says box has only been opened to check parts etc. From the pictures the figure is immaculate, gantry base and everything is all there. I was really wanting to get the Mark 85 Battle damaged as my first Iron-Man hot toys figure however I thought this deal was too good to pass up. Now that I'm seeing the Mark 6 with Gantry on ore order and the possibility of them doing a 2.0 version of the Mark 4 have a made I mistake or will I be happy with my purchase? Are there any obvious draw backs or major flaws with the diecast Mark 4? Head sculpt is decent but probs not the best Downie Jr which I'm okay with.
@@KeCoCollects That's fair then thanks a lot for the reply mate. Yeah I bought it, full diecast with Gantry base for £300 so that's around $375 thought that'd a pretty good price. The 1/4 scale version is amazing but too expensive so went for the 1/6
I don’t care about any positions in Iron Man top 10’s, as long as 46 is number 1 😁 Btw: keep doing top 10’s. It’s sooooo fun, and give a little more variety than just review + review + review + review… Cheers!
@@KeCoCollectsagreed except that the 47’s paint scheme is more interesting 🧐. That empty helmet is awesome and for those who hated on the initial release, the aftermarket demand and subsequent reissue were proof. 😉
Great video ❗ Thank you and thumbs up 👍 I am not a huge HotToys fan mainly because of their totally unfair price politic here in Europe and second, In 80% of the cases their figures quality doesn't match the price which is a problem for me personally. But I do own one Iron man and that is Mark 47 the Homecoming ver. I paid a lot of money for him - around 460€ just because the HotToys prices here are ridiculous and my opinion is personal and based on the price I have paid. What I like: The proportions The colors combo. The accessories The head sculpt He doesn't need a stand What I don't like 1. The gaps everywhere: everyone speaks about how difficult is to create such figure, but nobody wants to know, how difficult is for me to save and spend 460€ With simple words: I want more for my money ! 2. The head proportions: one of the HotToys Top3 main problems. It's just too big for that siut 3. Button batteries....in 21 century ? No comment 👎 4. The chest and face plate are no die cast. Why ? It's expensive enough and those parts are the most iconic parts from the whole figure. 5. Glue problems = embarrassing for such a brand and price 👎👎👎 6. Magnet problems = the same as number 5 Of course everything is just my personal opinion !
Even the plastic Starboost is a solid figure. Same with Shotgun/Shades, Sneaky (especially the Retro Version) and even Disco. All 6 of those HPP armors are pretty solid for plastic figures.
@@michaeldelcastillo7211 I completely understand that attitude. It still makes me sad that many are biased solely towards figures perceived as lesser quality simply based upon the diecast label. But to each their own.
@@DerektheMenace Oh I definitely don't think the plastic versions are an inferior product. My very first Hot Toys ever was the Mk41 bones and I still have it. But that was when I didn't know anything about Hot Toys yet and as I started researching more, I discovered that there were diecast figures, I decided to just get those as they, to me, were more accurate to the Iron Man name lol.
These are pretty sweet, but as a serial hobbist, how do you stick with a hobby that only invokes buying and displaying? I tend to gravitate towards hobbies that involve doing something like gunpla, fishing, and so on.
Ya I am waiting for my guy at Toy Anxiety to get his 2.0 mk3 in stock to grab one. Hope he gets them soon. Just ordered my 4th figure from Toy Dojo and got a DX19 for my first Batman figure. Super tempted to grab the tumbler as well but I have no where to put it. I did preorder the mkVI 2.0 but from BBTS which may have been a mistake due to price they charged and tax.
