True. I’d be just as concerned if something broke or was painted wrong. You’d be fucked with you need customer service. Hard pass on anything sold without a US distributor. I got screwed and learned my lesson with a XM studio statue. Fool got a chunk of glue on my Thanos base and basically told me to fuck off when I inquired about a replacement. I just a blow dryer to soften it up to remove. It eventually did and also took some paint with it. 😡🤬
Good stuff as usual bud. You summarized your point(s) very well in your last three mins; an appropriate "RELAX!" recommendation to many HT hobbyist peeps, along with your oh so accurate simple suggestion, "decide for yourself!". 💪
There was a podcast a long time ago where the panel was complaining about xbox only making halo. One of the panelists said Master Chief pays for the parties. I think that's what Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Batman do for Hot Toys. They will always sell and that money, I hope, allows Hot Toys to explore creating other figures and take risks like Dead Strange as well as acquiring new licenses like Star Wars darkside, etc - especially with them mayve having to pay the license for each Star Wars show, movie. Or even experiement with the controverisal neck sculpt of Andrew and Tobey's Spidey. Because of the strike, I do hope they acquire more video game licenses. I'd love a Hot Toys Master Chief, Doomguy, etc.
I’m glad you brought up the InArt batch issue . It’s so frustrating everybody liking their boots ,when they can’t stick to even the “ quarter of the year period “ they have given to the retailers and resellers . But when they release influencers getting figures and a year after them there are still people who are now receiving theirs , that’s just not professional. I’ve commented to their fb posts a couple of times they are being unprofessional with delays and releases and not giving exact times ,but most other comments are “ tAkE uR TiMe,wE lOvE u , DoNt wOrRy “ … People acting like they can do no wrong .
Its chinese culture that u keep your face. They dont wanna seem bad so they rather lie with delivery times 😂. I have worked with chinese and they are sneaky.
@@DavidRatford totally only western fans on their fb . And I’ve seen same people , how they trash Hot Toys and Asmus Toys on their fb pages , even JND ,but InArt ? Dallying forever ? Higher prices ? Unfair batch system only benefitting influencers ? They still kiss their feet.
Great video, totally agree with the INART criticisms. As great as their prototypes are the batch system is silly. I also think not enough is mentioned about how they show a figure off at their events then months later there hasn’t been an announcement or any mention of a PO. Michael Jackson for example, they showed him off months ago at one of their events and at the next one there is 6 more figures that are nowhere near done, which then also don’t make an appearance at the next event, all whilst they’re struggling to fulfil the 3 figures that people have actually pre-ordered
I’m a newer collector (only been doing this for a year or 2) and while I appreciate other creators, there’s a level of realness your channel has that others don’t. Thanks for this man. Can’t wait for my Tobey Spidey to come in
Ok seriously, what the hell is wrong with me!!! Everything you said I agree with! Lol. Are we crazy or is everyone else! Great points again. Keco I like how you keep it real and how you put some common sense in this woke society. Dude…keeping it real works! Awesome video again
Ive been seeing all the hate for the new Tobey Spidey, but I missed out on the original release. Tobey's Spiderman is my definitive Spiderman, so I'm keeping my preorder.
Thanks for discussing this topic! I love the insight. As a woman collector who loves her comic book superheros from the 70s, yes, I'm that old! I fell in love with Hot Toys and the artistry! I'm also a huge Scarlett Johansson fan and have collected all the Black Widows. I have started collecting more women figures. I'm not, nor will i ever be a fan of Ezra Miller, but the Flash movie gave us Supergirl then i found out HT making a figure, but the original head sculpt was awful! I was excited to add her to my collection, but not after the reveal of the head sculpt. I understand HT sells more male figures, but there are women and some guys who collect women figures as well and we shouldn't be given substandard figures just appease us. Thanks for pointing this out in your video!
Hot Toys & Disney work out a profit sharing arrangement per character, per licensing agreement. Hot Toys can’t have a one time, all inclusive licensing deal with Disney for all Star Wars. Hence, Hot Toys needs to be selective in the figures they invest into developing. Intriguing video, keep up the awesome content!!
What if on the limited/Artisan series. Everyone who orders has a 1hr window and paid fully for the particular figure. That way everyone has a chance and thus the line is limited to those who ordered and paid fully. No refunds. Maybe credit, but this gives the limited, availability and compromise for this issue.
I agree with majority of your points. Overactions on things is too common it seems in this hobby. However on the Supergirl topic...there seems to have been an update to the sculpt when the figure was shown during a convention last year so basically its a wait and see them. When the figure was first revealed oh HELLS yea there was an outcry. I don't have an issue with InArt's batch system. Its like statues and I get the reasoning they utilize it. TBH if u are getting jealous about someone getting something before u you never graduated middle school mentally. I honestly mostly 😁I don't care if an "influencer" gets a fig I maybe thinking about getting early. It just amps up my anticipation for it when I get it or helps me go...ooooo oooo no no no...where's the cancel button?! I stopped trying to get anything from SS vs. their lottery system. Thanks for vid. Happy New Year!
Keco cookin in the kitchen. 🔥Great video bro. Stay giving Inart that smoke my dude. 🤣 Still hoping you get that Anakin Artisan waitlist email sooner or later.
I don't know what Sideshow can do to make everyone trying to buy these limited edition figures feel happy. The randomly assorted queue system seems fair to me. We all wait beforehand then it randomizes the whole queue, which is actually quite fair and equal. Sure some will be unhappy when they're 5000+ in queue, but maybe next time they'll be 100 in queue.
They have updated the Supergirl sculpt and it is much better. It was seen on display at last month's Hot Toys event, but for some reason they did not publicize it on social media.
I think they do have to license the actual film on top of the general IP license. I worked for a comic creator that had an IP. Licensing is complicated. That’s why Lawyers are involved lol
last few pics I have seen of secret base already showed an updated headsculpt voor Supergirl, so hopefully that is fixed. we'll see when she officially releases. I am certainly keeping my pre-order until I know for sure. As for InArt, definitely not feeling the batch system, as I still don't have the Gandalf I pre-ordered, and have no clue how long I still have to wait, while he's been out for ages to the first people to review it. I don't necessarily have a problem with a few batches, but more clarity when the batches are due would help a lot to set expectations, especially at the higher pricepoint to Hot toys.
@@KeCoCollects as god is my witness. She was showed off at a Hot Toys showcase in the last 3/4 months. Much much better looking and I was tempted but she’s sold out now it seems around U.K. sellers
I can forgive a spelling mistake given that everything such a tailoring and head sculpt etc is top notch. These figures are made in Asia so english is not their first language anyway.🤷🏽♂️ HT should release a sticker to go over the missed speld one, problem solved 👍🏽
9:49 "dismissing a figure completely because of a misspelling" A misspelling that is from a company who's primary language is not even English mind you. It's awesome there's not more misspellings to be honest.
There are two types of criticism here there’s the ones that say things to get views and there’s the legitimate ones. Complaining doesn’t work as much as just simply not buying the product if it’s not to your liking. Some things just aren’t for everybody
The queue system is shit. I was in and ushered through then booted out 3 times as I watched Will get in line after me and get Wanda while I got screwed. Still mad af about that.
I always chalk it up to the fact that Howard Chan is the one that decides what figures that are released. If he likes it, it gets released, if he doesn't, it's a big nope. It's his company and private tastes that decide it all. With a privately owned company, it's just a fact of life. I've got to say that overreaction seems to be the one thing we can count on when it comes to "collector" reactions.
The $5 sideshow increase drives me insane. If $5 prices you out of the market then f$%k me. Skip your coffee 2 days in a month. The doc ock is also a huge overreaction because that figure is dope as hell in hand. You don't get that figure for the sculpt. Here's a question...dolphins pure trash or overreaction? #gobills
