I’ve never seen Vader without his cape, and I’m just now realizing how much his armor looks like his Clone Wars armor. That shoulder armor & the draped fabric. Wow, that’s cool. And the battle damaged head is incredible!

that junction box reminds me of the back up batteries we photographers used to use for our flashes. This a very handsome Vader. i've always hated those plastic pseudo saddle/crotch cradle stands. My figues always fall off of them.

As a very, very new collector I went for the upcoming ROTJ Vader because I only needed 1 Vader for my collection, but if that does not blow my socks off then I may go secondary market for this bad boy.

Looks good but agreed with you about cables not being included. Wire looks bad as it’s tough to hide. Not being bright from base lit saber is a dropped ball.

Looks like Hot Toys has gotten soooo much better with sculpting a leather looking plastic, that cod piece honestly had me.

Epic figure review! This is as Revenge of the sith Vader as it gets. I put off getting any other Vader to get this one and it's got me thinking figure of the year. Also I live in Miami so hopefully all that pleather won't degrade lol

that oversized collared cape is an eyesore though, can't wait for mine!

I think with the battle-damaged accessories, if the pleather peels, it can blend in better with the battle-damaged look.

I picked up the deluxe version of this Vader from my local Hot Toys store, someone cancelled their preorder and I was lucky enough to snag him! This is definitely the definitive version of Darth Vader, but now knowing he has the pleather material I just hope he lasts as long as he can. Fortunately for me I don’t live in a humid environment at all so in that regard he’s gonna last a long time. Thanks for another great video Justin. 🔥🔥 PS: When will you be on another livestream with Will & Keco, because I love seeing all three of you together because you all rock and I love hearing you guys discuss all things 1/6th scale. 😆

I don’t think they will never use real leather because it would be to expensive but there are some people who made the suit with real leather the thing is that will increase the price between $100 to $ $200

As far as I know, Hayden Christensen is shorter than Prowse. But then Vader is also played by a body double in the Kenobi series in many scenes. Some have claimed that Hayden is only in the suit when the mask is damaged.

Just got my figure on May 4th, very fitting for a Star Wars figure! I was wondering with the figure being USB powered if it’s ok to leave him lit up for an extended period of time? Great video as always Justin!

If I get this I might use the “imperial” style base as a kamino style landing pad base for my jango fett I think that would work well.

I totally agree, I've always hated the empire and Return of the jedi vader with the sad puppy dog eyes. I could never understand before what it was I thought it was because they were shiny when I was a kid but then I realised they were slightly different helmets. The Rogue one, New hope and Obi wan show will always be my best Vader helmets. The colder eyes the smaller chin vent and the larger neck just make him look tougher and meaner. I'm glad I ordered this figure. It will be my first and only Vader hot toys figure.

Just got into Hot toys with the Boba Fett twin pack and ARC Jesse coming. I've always wanted a Hot Toys Vader so I'm waiting for the ROTJ version later in the year. Just worried the pleather suit will break down in a few months after but hopefully not.

He looks awesome! But several questions. One, any issues of the tusks breaking off? Two, are the helmets and gloves easy to swap with each other? I ask cause rogue one Vader had a tendency to have his wrist joints stuck in his gloves and he didn’t come with many extra joints. Three, do you have a link for where you got that better lit lightsaber? Four, so everything plugs into that junction box and nothing relies on batteries? Mine is coming tomorrow and I can’t wait!

I dont have Darth vaders in my collection because of the pleather suit, however I decided to pick up this one because of the battle damaged pieces, I think that if the pleather starts to degrade, that will look great with the battle damaged pieces, great review Justin still waiting for mine to arrive

07:13 I’m pretty sure that the Venator class weren’t simply renamed. Star Destroyers are entirely different ships. Certainly Venator class ships were still serving in the Imperial Navy, but in less prominent roles. Venator class ships were used to guard the endor system when the second Death Star was being built. 21:48 Ironically, this was what early lightsabers were like according the the EU- no internal power, but a separate battery box linked via a cable that was an easy target! 😂
