But the "weathering" looks bad, like, really bad. It's just a bunch of dots and speckles though it's probably not that noticable and normal viewing distance.
I cleaned the weathering up on mine and did a good job I think. Left some weathering to balance it out. BUT, it really is shiny. It looks bad under some lights.
Both figures look great. Sure, the chrome version looks amazing. However, I still have a soft spot for the original Mandalorian. I also have the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian, which I really like as well. Thanks, Dean! God bless and stay safe!
See I have both and I wanted to have a friend do a review. Lol thank you I wanted to see this in video form . Yes the helmets are a bit different in size .
Great comparison love both of them for me I'm happy with the non chrome version but can totally understand your points and do agree . Wow when the three of them are standing together looks awesome enjoyed this one !
I recommend for the Beskar V1 that you soak the suit in water and detergent until the water runs clear. I did it for mine, and it’s brown in some light and more grey in others, which seems to be most accurate to the show. It truly makes a difference and you can tell right away. Super easy to do as well
That's what I did originally. Just have the 1/4 to represent mandalorian series. Saves having to open another rabbit whole. But hated the figure, metal beskar colour was awful and it's proportions felt out. Really over the top toy. Shame as the rest was great. Grogu had put some hairs on him and looked decent (had the deluxe), but sold it. Other reason was to sell off my other 1/4. Just have to reduce my collection and only collecting 1/4 horror statues only. Star wars is 1/6. But if you love it, great on you 🙂👍
Season 2 mando w/ chrome armor does not have the leds on the armor gaunlet as Beskar armor did in seaon 1. Hot Toys figure is accurate to the show. Thanks for vid and congrats on purchase.
@@danielq_4 Actually I maybe wrong. This is weird. On some instances the led is showing on Mando with chrome armor and other times its not. Not sure if its an error with production or there is an in cannon reason. Its actually shown as on in Book of Boba Fett ep but in Mando's own show its off. I'll do some more digging into this. @ 2:11 led is on - Book of Boba Fett Episode ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xwfgLcXHXzQ.html @2:41 led is off - Mandalorian season 2 ep ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NaMu9mQzJOs.html Edit: Ok Im going to say I was wrong and the reader (sry kept saying its led) IS suppose to be on chrome Mando. This looks like a production error cause im re-watching scene leading up to fight with Mando and Moff in season 2 finale. Its off one min the on again. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iL5QYU0n5n8.html Watch up to about 4:11 One min its on the next its off. Apologies for the error. May HT based it off the times its was off? dunno lol.
TBF the Deluxe version of the first one comes with a lot more stuff than what you showed and can be had for pretty cheap. I'll probably wait for all of the versions to come out before deciding to pick up another one - not really digging the pitted look of the weathering on this one. They all have their flaws really. The helmet shape/size isn't quite right on any of them but that carries over to a lot of their figures. Don't understand why they just can't get the prop cowls and helmets scanned.
Because then they’d lose their artistic touch aspect. They’re not shrunken down scale replicas. It’s more like a 1/6 artistic recreation where they do try to get it as accurate as possible. It’s kinda what makes them amazing.
@@danielq_4 The inaccuracies are intentional? That's news to me, I always assumed they were supposed to be extremely accurate to their source material, at least, that's what I always hear Hot Toys fans touting about.
@@JeffZ1028 hmm? It’s not that they intentionally get them wrong, but they’re hand sculpted, not scanned. That’s not their MO. And HT does go for accuracy of course, and that’s why it’s so special because it’s art in of itself. The human touch wouldn’t really be there if they just had these things scanned. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s what I’ve understood
