Not sure why they went ahead and made these design changes for the show to begin with. I get they used an actual prop/costume, but still. People have been building ROTS accurate costumes for years.

Wrong blue, minimal weathering, doesn't look as good as the original. Why even bother with reissue?!?! Makes no sense to me. The original version is so much better!

The original had the wrong blue. They were light blue in ep 3 too. They only have the wrong dark blue in battlefront 2.

Would love a rerelease of anakin and obi wan. Missed them and would love to have in collection. Not a fan of the new 501st paint job though. But it is interesting to see the comparisons of a figure based on a all cgi version from episode 3 where you don’t have to worry about things like actual physics of armor fitting to one based on a real costume where a body has to fit the pieces.

I don't really see the point in this version. They've announced like 4 - 5 different 501st figures with ROTS accurate colors and now they're announcing this. A figure that we see for like 2 minutes in the show. Does it look cool? Hell yeah but all clones do. So I'd rather stick to the movie accurate version. This could have been a 212th clone trooper or even better, a 212th paratrooper.

Feel like this was a terrible idea. This design isn't better. We also didn't need it. We have great 501st clones already. It's not even close.

I'm sticking with my 22. They got the blue wrong in the Kenobi show version thats based on one of the most iconic scenes.

Thats actually the right blue. Even in ep 3 they were light blue. They only have dark blue in battlefront 2. In ep 3 they just seem to be dark blue since they were only shown at night

@attilafekete7892 then why are their blue colors different in ep 3 and kenobi? Both based on the same scene, same time and at night. Because of the color grading different in tv and film? Yet the blue in kenobi is more teal (nearly green).

@@Fletch85uk The scene in Kenobi takes place inside, in the corridors with lighting, in rots there was only 1 scene inside the teme and it was a dark hall. If you compare the colours, it is almost the same shade of blue.

Would love a re-issue of ROTS Anakin. Not only did I miss it the first time, but the trend has been towards USB powered lightsabers for Hot Toys (no more batteries!). So, with that in mind, bring on the re-issues/updated figures!!

I really wish they didn’t change the look of the clones in Kenobi. The CGI ones in the prequels looked like actual armor, whereas the Kenobi ones look like glossy plastic. It the same problem stormtroopers have. They just look like decent cosplay, but not real troopers.

This is a pass for me. These next to my current 501st would just look odd. And I dont see the need to create another shelf of the same legion. I would've preferred a new legion of clone. 212 or more named clones.

@@JedhaPatrol I think I'll have my old 501st in a display with Rex and other animated clones since they have similar paint apps, and these new 501st in a display with Anakin since they're more realistic, as they were real people in suits. I think that would work.

The vizor is more squinted and has squared corners on the new sculpt. And the T is shorter. In other words, the mouth piece is higher up on the new one.

Blue isn’t the right blue. Seems like you can’t put him with any other clones cause of how shiny he is. Would’ve preferred a different unit tbh.

Captain Vaughn is literally just a 332nd painted Commander Cody (not lazy hot toys re-color, literally in the show he’s Cody’s body repainted)… and it looks dope tho!

Think its pretty much a given they are going to re-release that exclusive dark side Anakin. They re-released Knightmare Batman as a 2 pack w/ Superman....so they can do the same here (Anakin vs Obi Wan or a 501st Clone).

If im not mistaken they fixed the helmet and it no longer has the cody cut in the chin. But i could be wrong. Seen alot of things posted on FB showing it without the cody cut

honestly feel like these new one will be more for posing with Anakin since they are live action clones, and I recon the changes to the armour had to be done since there was actual humans in it and not just CGI

On the helmet, the round 'ear' pieces are different. The blaster rifles are different. Given these changes, I wonder if they are going to re-use these molds to give us even more clones. I really wish they had given us another clone battalion, or another clone variant. If the price is right, I might pick up one or two. Axe Woves will be released next.

Well, to answer that last question regarding Anakin, he IS a main character and I firmly believe toy companies, including Hot Toys should always try to make main characters more accessible. NOW, I myself have the Dark Side Anakin, I got him from sideshow when he was there for months when nobody wanted him for some reason, when star wars wasn't hot, but I guess if they do make a new one, the difference would still be the accessories and the BEAUTIFUL base, which would have no business being included with this Anakin from Obi Wan. I think it was just for the photo, because he didn't have sith eyes in the flash backs

I appreciate that they used live action clones in the show however there different from all the rest with the matt finishes rather than glos. And anakin should really be light side version as anakin has normal eyes not the Sith eyes

No it should not be the light side version. At that point in time, Anakin had turned to the dark side. There are more to it than the colors of they eyes.. He look way more pale in these scenes and have some coloration around he's eyes.. Even tho he didn't have the sith eyes in the flashback.. its still the mose accurate figure

The blasters are different. More detailed, less blocky. Kinda makes me wish we’d gotten these for the original release. The whole thing’s different, really. It’s subtle, because they technically are supposed to be the same design but as far as I can tell nothing’s actually reused. Aside from possibly the belt. Also I noticed that the shiny they posed with the AT-RT is using this mold for the armor as well so I guess some Andor clones should be expected soon.

He looks cool but w/$ & space being issues plus I just bought the CW 501st I'll have to pass on this guy. I want something that stands out in my collection not something that blends in. I think HT should have released a diff clone such as Kashyyyk, Mace Windu's clones (187th), or Aayla Secura's clones (327th). I do enjoy your channel. Keep up the great work.

I don't know why they'd do a dark side Anakin at this point. It doesn't really seem to make sense. The timing? I don't get it, but I also don't get why you advertise a Dark Side Anakin with these figures. I'd be down for them to do a 2.0 though for sure. Perhaps include a light side head sculpt and make it a DX release. Insta pre-order for me.

I like and own two of the first version of 501 Trooper and for me that's enough. The only Trooper i want is the Range Trooper from solo HT teased us years before. Now we need Droids alot and different, Battle droids, Super Battledroid, Droidekas, Buzz-Droid..come on HT, let's do this.

I feel that this should have been released during Star Wars holiday especially during the Star Wars celebration but I am all for them giving us a 2.0 Anakin Skywalker cuz I personally missed out when I wasn't collecting and would love to have this especially when I add it with my Ahsoka tunnel from the Mandalorian

Am liking it also the weapon is def diff and I would love to see more especially from the 104th legion under General Plo Koon. A reissue of Anakin would be nice since Soo Soo’s was terrible lol and this time split cut boots would be a plus cuz is hard to get a dynamic pose with the original ones.

DS Anakin is 100 percent, knew its only time. Will be minus the lava base, but with new accessories and slight updates. Hot toys won't be happy about the recent Karen, sorry third party, plus its in high demand. I have the DS Anakin and two lava bases, but I'd be happy for a re release as would please a lot.

I feel like they will reissue darkside anakin. That said, I don't like it when exact re-issues are released. I want my collection to be "rare". I don't have a darkside Ani, and I don't want an exact re-issue. I wouldn't be mad if a 2.0, slightly different version were released. That way the original keeps its value and then we get something different that is collectible.

Shouldn't hot toys be trying to reduce the long wait times to receive figures instead of reissuing figures. The more than 2 years wait for a figure is ridiculous. They should be grappling with that issue instead of chasing the after market prices with reissues
