Good video. How can I get TA up, but ph down ?

I know this video isn't about test strips, but since it is your newest, I thought I would try asking the question here. I twirl the strip three times in the water. Tap once on the side of tub. Check, and it looks like everything is just a little on the low side. Maybe 30 seconds or so, everything is inside the ideal range. My question is, which do I believe. I used the @ease system. Thanks

Good morning, the directions are to immerse into the hot tub for 2 seconds, remove with pads facing up. Shake once to remove access water. Read immediately for best results. However, I always tell people that it doesn't need to be perfect. Sounds to me like you're in good shape or maybe just need a slight adjustment. Hope this helps!

Can you use soda ashe to raise pH as well? I don't believe soda ashe effects your alkalinity to much. Thanks

Good morning, Sodium carbonate is soda ash. Sodium bicarbonate is baking soda. Sodium carbonate is made up of sodium and acid. Sodium bicarbonate comes with sodium, acid and hydrogen. Soda ash will raise pH and have a slight advantage over sodium bicarbonate in raising the pH without raising alkalinity. However, most hot tub stores don't sell soda ash and soda ash will still raise alkalinity. Hope this helps!
