Hey Allyn, wondering if you could do a video on shelf life on the bio stimulants and yard mastery fertilizers. Wanting to buy offseason to leseen the blow on the summer wallet. Also the dirty looks i get from my other half every time I buy products. 😂
This whole time I've been adding my entire water first to the sprayer then getting frustrated when it overflows by a couple ounces. Firstly, I never said I was a smart man. But even after 4 years of watching this channel I learn some basic stuff that makes my lawn care life so much easier! Thank you!
Good work pushing through to get this video done for everyone mate :) * For your dog pee stains in the lawn, I have found the best way to stop it is with feeding a good dry mix dog food ( chicken or fish as main meat source) try to avoid meaty chunks too often or lamb etc. ** filtered drinking water helps too instead of the chemical filled town water. All the Best mate :)
We are vacationing at Apollo beach and decided to make the trip over to see your lawn. We were hoping to catch some live action! Lawn looks great and I can tell you have influenced your neighbors to keep a healthy lawn as well. Thanks for the content!
Ooo, this is exactly the video I needed. I have trouble spreading Stress Blend with my Scotts mini due to the various prill sizes though I do like the results. I'll give this mix a try plus an app of RGS.
One question I have is with GreeneKick. I have this product too and the instructions seems to indicate this product is mainly absorbed into the plant foliarly and hence why it has citric acid in its formular? In this video though, it sounded like root absorption is the main method. Can we get a confirmation which method is best? Thanks. Also, have you guys seen or used one of those OXO Angled Measure Cup? If not, I recommend it for those who mix stuff up for spraying a lot. In most cases, we don't mix our chemicals on a table but on the ground but with a regular measuring cup, the indicators are on the side and you have to lift the measuring cup up to see if you have poured the right amount. With the OXO Angled Measuring Cup, you can see your measured level directly from the top, eliminating the need to look at the side. Very convenient.
Someone Googled Stanky Fish Juice with results comparable to your Hose Kink idea.. I put down a little Microgreene before the heat set in and the tall fescue grass is looking dope with thunderstorms every week.
Also I notice you get overspray into your concrete - but it doesn’t seem to stain. Everytime I use these liquids sometimes the wind blows it, or there’s a bit of overspray - constantly stains my concrete
Hey Alan how much do you like that ego electric over a gas powered mower? Im really thinking of making the jump to electric next year. The only con so far for me is i live in midwest so most of my yard is tall fescue. The electric mowers seem lightweight and they will bounce around in tall grass.
it;s way overgrown and keep in mind, the day before I trampled all over it spraying twice and when we lost all that footage, had to film the next day - lawn was for sure showing the beat down lol 😀
I have the old Craftsman black rubber hoses from Sears, someone else probably carries them now, and they almost never kink to where I have to un-kink it. I just give a shake and twist and they un-kink. They have lasted me about 8 years of being outside and still work great!
Is there anything that you use that can not or should not be put on a vegetable garden? I also bag a portion of my grass for use in the garden as weed preventative and has worked freakishly well. But at the current time the only thing Im adding to the grass is Miloganite once a year.
Every time I cut my mommy's yard.... If we dont get a lot of rain. The yard is not bad ...or I get a week off cutting. I live in south Carolina near Myrtle Beach. I always think what would you think of the yard... Cut to short or just right or it needs specal treatment. Do you do a online service of pics of people yards.... I sure think of you at times when I cut grass.....
Great tips Allyn, i have been following and applying your products for two years now since i moved to Charleston. I am having problems with my centipede grass; it is doing great 90 in percent of the lawn, but the rest is struggling! The grass is not growing thick and dense, the blades are thin, and the roots are not deep. Also, i can pull the grass up easily, no grubs or fungus. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Hey quick question Alan I applied double dark on July 4th and I have medical appointment and so I applied freedom on July 12 I think was day do u think my lawn will yellow up bc to much N now or do u think freedom with slow release my lawn will be OK I did freedom bc I have to heal up from appointments I have so wife don't have to do my job 😀 I wanted to wait 30 days for freedom to the lawn but with doctors appointment I won't be able to in August so I put it down early I hope I don't burn my lawn with to much N. My lawn right now looks awesome after I applied double dark. Do u think I applied freedom to early and my lawn will be OK. I did it because of my doctor's appointment so I have to recover so I won't be able to keep up to my lawn so I did it earlier than I wanted to. Thanks Alan please reply with good news. I'm from up north so I have a cool grass yard from Michigan
If I'm low on sulfur and boron, but either good or high on everything else in the Yard Mastery soil test, would you be concerned enough to try and add these independently in some fashion?
I am not the best at hose management and basically gave up. I just spray it and don't worry about it. I figure (I saw you doing this as well) if I am going to drag the hose around on what I sprayed then why am I worried about spraying it? I saw you dragging your hose around after you sprayed then why not just spray the hose? Love to hear other thoughts on this.
Do you remove the screen/filter from the spray tip of the backpack sprayer? I always notice a residual “skin,” on the screens, after applying weed killers. I mix it well, including pumping it back into the tank prior to applying it.
Hey allyn. I’ll be heading to your area next week to visit family in Bradenton. Looking for a good fishing guide. Onshore and offshore. Anybody you recommend.
Capt Gene Maxwell is my guy for onshore. Tarpon are pretty good right now. Snook and Redfish are always around and fun to catch. He goes out of Tiera Verde which is right over the Skyway. You should plan to visit Ft De Soto after your fishing trip. It's right there too. Tell him I sent you www.islandlure.com/
We are very dry in Florida as well - the grass loves this time of year but it needs adequate water. I use Hydretain to help but really I am just having to run my irrigation longer each time.
At the start of this video, you said that you had to shoot it *three times* over a couple of days due to audio issues. But later in this video, you suggested doing this application only *once* every couple of months. Is there any *danger of over-applying* these chemicals? Or is there just no benefit (and a waste of money) to apply them too frequently?
There is no benefit to over-applying so don't do it. In all transparency, this 3rd application I did (the one on video) the MicroGreene is actually watered down d-thatch and the GreeneKick is just water. I did that so I would not over -apply.
The SOP is granular so you can get a lot more down with a single application. But it really comes down to which yo you prefer to apply - some people like to spray others prefer granular. I do a little of both.
Why dont you start spraying from the other end and just drag the hose forwards instead of backwards. Sure you would be walking in wet grass but what difference does that make? You walked in wet grass towards the end anyway.
Local bylaws for some counties. The reason is the assumption that there’s lots of summer rainstorms and I’d you fertilize it will likely get washed into the waterways contributing to “red tide”. The truth is, regardless of “blackout dates”, you should be mindful of when you fertilize and what the weather will be and adjust accordingly.
Hey buddy, I've been trying look at your zoysia for a while now 😂 trying to compare what our empire zoysia is doing from state to state. I hope you do an update soon since we're almost at the end of summer now. I gave mine a nice little treatment before the 4th of july and it's been looking good, hopefully you did about the same.
The video I put out this Sunday will show the zoysia and talk a little about it. It doesn't look good right now and you'll see why in the video (nothing chemical or weather related) but for the most part, my zoysia is looking it's best in July and August. It loves the heat but I do have to keep it well irrigated.
@@Thelawncarenut I definitely agree it loves water. Mother nature has been helping us out with that here, but yet it's still a slow mover to fill in some spots from a bad freeze a two three yrs ago.
I really don't. If I was going to do an app of say insect control where I needed to spray up into the eaves of the house, then I'd probably use the higher PSI setting, but for lawns, i only need the 40.
I’m in S FL so St.Aug grass & HOT I used detach to get rid of the dead grass at the base of my lawn to help thicken it but it didn’t work, what do Ib do now?? Thanks😊
Least once a month I click a video thinking "oh perfect, I have the same issue!" Forgetting I live in Canada, and next to a lake.. Spend the next hour researching legal and lakeside safe product alternatives, see prices, die inside. Then I return to just watering my lawn with the hose, apologizing to the lawn "this is the best I can do."
Summer lawn spraying looks like so much fun! 🌞🌿 Your lawn is going to be lush and vibrant with those hot weather supplements. We sent you an email, we would love to connect and collaborate with you.
⚠️ Off-Topic: my lawn in extremely bumpy after insurance replaced it due to glass and debris after a tornado. It was done about 1.5 years ago and they presented a solution of basically bringing a “steam roller” type machine to compact the ground after doing a soak. They are thinking this will even out the bumps. Basically the subcontractor removed the old grass and then lied and said we weren’t approved for leveling soil and then never rolled out the lawn after the new sod went down…and now they are out of business. This is why they are looking for cheap ways to fix a problem that never should’ve happen in the first place. I know aerating the soil helps a lawn so I’m assuming highly compacted soil is not beneficial to the health of the grass. When I mentioned this they kind of told me I was a little bit crazy and that it wouldn’t cause any problems. I’m here in Canada 🇨🇦 if that makes a difference. Thanks for anyone’s assistance and opinion on this.
I bought a hose from Home Depot that I paid a lot of money for a 50' hose and the label said guaranteed not to kink. Soon as I got it home to use it to water the lawn it kinked. I called the MFG Co. and they said it will not kink all the time. I filed a claim with the BBB and took the hose back. Home Depot took it off the shelf.
I ignore those no nitrogen in summer in Florida bs rules. It's my lawn. Unless the HOA wants to resod my lawn I just fertilize when I want with what I want.
Thanks for the feedback Trent, much appreciated. And for sure I agree, I do quite a bit of marketing these days. We sell thousands of gallons of these products monthly and many times the videos I make are for customers so they know how to apply these products properly to maximize their results. I do realize that's also marketing at the same time. It's just how the creator economy works in today's world. I never knew it would be this way when I started back in 2009 but here we are and I'm not upset about it. Back then, no one cared about lawn care on RU-vid. Not free, not promotional, not anything. There was no audience at all, but I was here, learning the platform. The other thing to consider is that if I don't show the products I'm using, I will get 10x the comments of people asking "can you link me to the product please?" So I have to kind of balance between my customers, my desire to grow a successful business doing something I love (marketing), and the casual viewer who just watches for some laughs and a few tips here and there. I try to balance it all and many time I fail. If you want to view a video with no marketing at all and a completely different ask, please let me know how you can help here because no one views the videos that really make the difference: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z2wYVWGS8H0.html
@@Thelawncarenut awesome response to @trentcardwell8620 statement. Honest and straight forward I completely respect you sir. Great content and thank you for always sharing the great tips and advice for homeowners like me on having a great lawn! Cheers 🍻
I am a business owner myself in the supply to the end-user world just different industry great response even though it's not you Alan, haha I just think I like Pete was easy I kept his cool because the passion is there even though he's doing the exact same thing don't feel like you've ever actually been anything but a Salesman that sells something he doesn't believe in but I've spent plenty of money with both of your supplies sites and still watch your videos so you've done something right when it comes to business not passion 🤔🙌🏼
