Hot Wheels 1968 Original 16 Models by Mattel Toys - Awesome!

My Dad bought a box filled with various 1/64 cars, Matchbox, Hot Wheels, Dinky and so on. At the bottom there was a green Beetle, it has the side windows and the sun roof. It's a genuine sweet sixteen Hot Wheels car, my Dad didn't really know the significance of the car but I did some research and the green one we have is the second rarest variation of the car. So pretty stoked about that.

I have a custom VW but it's blue with no sunroof hole. It came in a Hot Wheels loop set, when I was 7 (Christmas 1969).

Had all of those when I was a kid, my mom threw them out, ouch.

MINE ARE IN A CARRYING CASE/BOX AT MOMS IN A CLOSET ,THEY 50 YEARS OLD NOW WOW , I WILL SEE HOW MANY OF THE 16 IN IT I HAD THEM DOUBLED UP IN EACH SPOT , SWEET 16 :) COOL VIDEO DUDE

I was 8 years old.... Hot Wheels hit the soot, especially the muscle cars! I took on scale modeling as well at that age.

I still have over 100 of mine from when i was a kid 68-74 and have aquired another 200 or so since.I kept all mine on a shelf when I was a kid so they are all un-played with

I believe the Custom Corvette comes from a concept car which is the C8 Corvette today.

Hi there , thanks for sharing. I also am from Ontario Canada and am looking for a set of Origional 16 cars. I look on eBay and to get a whole set is tough. I also thought the VW Beach Bomb ( 1st generation ) and the Red Baron were part of the Origional 16.
