Love the 89 Batmobile and this car is a great one, good size and details. I had one years ago in the box and had to sell it for money- but I found and just bought one a few days ago to replace it!
@@diecastgazette Thanks! The clear plastic window was cracked on my new one when I got it, but I replaced it with some clear acetate and it looks as good as new and I learned something!
Have you seen that Black Mamba 1/18 version? I thought it was a knockoff of the Hot Wheels version because it looks similar but it's actually it's own version based off the Jada line. Very impressive, it opens up including the trunk. Even has lights and suspension.
If I'm being honest, I've never heard of Black Mamba before. I looked it up and it's definitely an interesting one. Will keep an eye out for that model because I'm intrigued, though my priority at the moment is to sift through the hundreds of 1/18 models I have in my collection and decide which one to film first, eventually uploading my first video in a long time 🙌 Thanks for your comment 🙏☺
@@diecastgazette I just finished customizing my Mamba version. I gave it custom painting (including reworking silver machine guns to more like hot toys), reworked lighting to add jet engine flame and installed a rechargeable lithium cell. Took a while. Was actually my first project like this.
Hello. I just looked up the 3D model files but I couldn't find any. I imagine it would be a bit difficult to do so for such a specific vehicle, but I can't claim that I have much experience in this topic. Will keep an eye out and hopefully can answer your question here. I've seen some 1/18 diecast sold on eBay "As Is" so maybe you'll get lucky there. Good luck 🙏
unfortunately it is not 1/18. the real Batmobile measures almost 7 meters long. In 1/18 scale it would have to measure approximately 36 centimeters in length. There is no 1/18 scale Batmobile. A 1/18 Batman figure is 10.5 centimeters, he doesn't fit in this Batmobile.
I hear you, and that's a very good observation! I was lucky to see a couple of Batmobile replicas in real life and that was one of the first thoughts in my head. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like we have true-to-scale model at the moment. I still like this one though 😊 Thanks for your comment 🙏
Hi there. It depends on whether the model is new or used and where you live. You will most probably find them on places like eBay for $80+, but the better stored ones (box in excellent shape & model is still in mint condition) can go up to $200. This was released in 2003 so it's a 20-year old out-of-production item.
I have this and I have installed leds and improve it with custom paint to be the same as the one in the movie. I had also the Hot Toys 1989 Batmobile but I didn't like it and I sold it. The Hot Toys version is surely imperssive to watch but it is all plastic. Believe me, if you see it up close it feels like cheap plastic. Instead Hot Wheels batmobile is almost metal and it is seems better than the other one. In gereral I like Hot Wheels batmobile better, is mostly made of metal and is compact to store to a self. Hot Toys batmobile is way to expensive and I don't believe that it worths so much money since it is made all from plastic.
