Season 3, Episode 19 "Tabula Rasa" This is my favourite moment in Criminal Minds ever. Please ignore the watermark. I'm a newbie when it comes to editing.
grace reynolds: He didn't need to. We rarely saw Hotch get angry, and this guy was NO competition, so I would say that rather than getting angry, Hotch was enjoying himself. 😄
Unfort the last part is not there where he says "wise decision". The judge knew that hotch proved to the lawyer that it was not just intellectual guesswork by profiling him.
The rule is ALWAYS the same, whether talking fisticuffs, handguns, nuclear arsenal, or intellectual sparring. The one with the lesser skill and weapons should never pick on the one with greater skill and weapons. And in a battle of wits, Hotch had that guy totally outclassed.
@@kegginstructure There is another Rule that relates to lawyers. That is "Never ask a question that you don't already know the answer to." Defence lawyer asked the question he had no idea about the answer, and got spanked for it.
If this lawyer was smart, he would have put Morgan on the stand rather than Hotch. Dear lord, an ex-lawyer whose job now is to get in someone's head and predict what they're going to do next. Tsk-tsk.
S-171 Cam Well, a lot of people think what he said about profiling, that it's intellectual guesswork. No one's really at fault for assuming that though, it's not an exact science. And CBS makes this merry band of seven look REAL good, or if you prefer, these seven people are exceptionally good at their jobs and beyond. They're not among the norm either way. But this scene is still as awesome as I first watched it XD
@@s-094cam5 Ok, not to nitpick but hotch was a witness for the prosecution so the defense has no say in whether it was hotch or morgan. It would have been stupid for the defense not to question hotch so he had no choice. If I was in his shoes I would have asked the exact same questions, he just got unlucky.
Legally speaking Hotch was allowed to counter because the attorney specfically attacked his field. The socks question basically doomed the attorney and he couldn't object to it. Hotch was a badass
Proves that even beyond always taking the long shot, that defense attorney is too cocky to do proper research. If he had, then he would have known better than to ask a former prosecutor an open-ended question when challenging his credibility.
Honestly I just love the slight difference in the tone of hotch's voice when he says "and your not having a very good day" because he dumbs down his voice like he's talking to a child and I laugh every time 😂
Chloe Patterson I meant to say Hotch has a more special place in my heart. I realize now that that comment is better said and understood when spoken than when written...
+Sofia Guevara It's kind of like saying "I can't even." Though most people would understand that one if it were written. But saying both of them is leaving a sentence unfinished, so if you were to have said "i agree! love them all, but Hotch is life
"Most people see, but don't observe. All the answers are always in front of you, staring you in the face...all you have to do is open your eyes and pay attention" ~Sherlock Holmes And by association: ~Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Well Hotch got himself removed. The actor, Thomas Gibson, had apparently kicked one of the producers, repeatedly, and as a result of this being the third or fourth instance of getting physical. They had stopped giving him chances and fired him on sight. He was his own death. And he also created issues with the story itself, since they already had pre-written all his lines. And thus now, created issues with the whole cast, and more importantly how they're gonna work out a character who was there for the first two Season 3 episodes.
Actually while it is true Gibson kicked Virgil Williams, the writer isn't an angel either. According to the workers, the writer is belligerent and such altercation would have happened sooner or later. I think it was stupid to fire Gibson considering Hotch's importance in the show.
Rachel Avery Madden it’s not about who goes through more, it’s literally just about character and the way he acts and handles situations. They all go through a lot, some more than others but Hotch is number one.
It was a good line, though I'd like even more to hear, "If you would like to contest his analysis I will allow your Blackberry to be entered into evidence at this time."
haha dude you just got burned so bad lol! Hotch is the best profiler and rocks under pressure!! most of the time he's foused and serious but there are times when he shows a side of him no one would have guessed he had.
@@chayparker8604 Reid often lets his own lack of understanding of the human condition to get in his way. At least, at this point in the series. He’s great with facts and statistics, but early on, he didn’;t understand how to integrate statistical knowledge with the emotional aspect of human nature. Reid may have been the best profiler by the time the show ended, but for the entirety of his time on the show, Hotch was the most effective.
there are times when I watch criminal minds and see Hotch always so serious and there was a time where I saw him heartbroken after losing the woman he loved as well as almost losing his son. but there was never a time like this that Hotch made me laugh in court when he put that lawyer in his place go Hotch show him who's boss LOL
I love the fact he started out his speech with something that could be easily proven. He rolls into other things that could also be proven. Then, as the councilor continues to be an ass, he finishes off by humiliating him. He not only makes his point clearly, but he also gets some satisfaction because Hotch was, once upon a time, a prosecuting attorney. I love the man.
