This little guys packs a mighty punch. Hotone's Ampero One may be all you need to set forth and gig (or record) triumphantly. The concept is 'simplicity'. Amp and cab models are abundant; dozens of effects, 100-pattern rhythm machine, looper, stereo out, touch screen, USB and a very good offline editor. Of course none of that would mean much if the sounds weren't good and I'm pleased to say that they are. And it's fun. And it supports 3rd party IR's. Light? Yes, only 1.2kg. 9VDC 500mA with 18V internal doubling. Rock and roll. More to come.

Cool... Hotone's answer to the Boss GT-1 and the Mooer GE200. A shootout between the three would be interesting to watch.

You read my mind :) I have the Boss GT-1 and I love the little guy. But yes indeed, a 3 way shootout would be extremely interesting! Come on Brett :) One thing about the Boss GT-1 is the huge community online and the availability of literally thousands of user and Boss created presets that can be easily downloaded to the unit in addition to basically all the classic Boss effects. Not sure how active or the size of the Hotone and Mooer communities are....But that Hotone touch screen and the drum machine do look like huge pluses over the GT-1, I gotta admit...

Very cool!! “That’s not really me...”. Hilarious!! That one fx sounded perfect for boulevard of broken dreams.. it all sounded quite passable, especially with some drums and a pedal for wah/vol/fx ... in super small format... gotta check the price but looks like a great alternative to risking having my H9 equipped board getting boosted at a night out!

How does this compare to the nux mg 30 in terms of amp simulation (specially the fender and marshall amps),audio depth quality of reverbs and modulation ?? Plz tell

Hi Brett, I loved your review, I would like to ask something. Some people on the internet talking about the hiss problem with this device. But as I understand yours doesn't have that. Did you ever have a hiss problem with this device? Sincerely

I think that was a problem with some units of the original Ampero

Can you connect it to a pc with the usb and record to a daw or do you have to use the outputs going through a mixer? Edit: I guess what I mean is does it have its own audio interface?

Nice work.. (y) can you share the factory presets all together (gdrive .. dropbox .. etc ) ? I own the AMPERO MP-100 , support tell me the 2 unit are compatible for presets exchange, but i can't find the factory presets to download . Thanks in advantage .

Burgs, what do you prefer, software plugins or this kind of multieffect/modeleres pedals and why? which has better sound quality in your opinion?

I have some favourites on both platforms. For instance, the old Waves GTR still holds its own and it's inexpensive, low CPU and standalone too. Amplitube has always been great. Guitar Rig is good but I don't think it's seen an update for some years. Then there's the higher end of hardware: Fractal Audio. Unbeatable for me. I haven't tried Kemper; I have tried Line 6 but found it wanting in the IR department; BOSS's algorithms are great - I've used them extensively in the GT1000 earlier this year in front of 10K+ crowds. I've used the Ampero on some shows and it's been great too. They all have their charms in different areas. The only one that does it all for me is the Axe-FX III but it should because it's professionally priced. But this guy, the Ampero, the GT-1000... They do the job nicely. As long as it puts a smile on your face when you're playing it, who cares?

@@BrettKingman have you tried neural dsp or mercuriall audio software plugins? Those are simply amazing modelers, best in the market by far..try them, youll be surprised

Great Video but can someone explain to me what this means (9VDC 500mA with 18V internal doubling) about the power source. I just bought one and wanted to use my Big Joe power supplies 9volt and now I'm wondering if I made a mistake seeing this 18 volt. Thanks in advance

No es mejor que el helix, pero suena muy bien. Puede que en la simulación de amplis suene cerca cerca de la helix y los efectos tmb.

La verdad que suena un poco más realista, tiene un botón asignable además de preset arriba abajo y pantalla táctil... Pero si lo que quieres es buen sonido por el menor dinero posible ve a por la ge150, cargandole un buen IR suena increible. Si puedes ahorrar un poco más te recomiendo esta en vez de la ge150 pero si prefieres ahorrar y seguir teniendo un buen sonido ve a por la ge150.

YEA, I just returned my unit, The Tuner, drum machine, are trash. The Editor software crashed on mine and customer service was horrible. Just being honest, And I don't want others to get ripped off or be disappointed.
