@@LeoGibsonGtr It actually replaced my Yamaha THR 10ii, which was a phenomenal amp! The issue with the Yamaha is that I found myself using pedals (the THR takes pedals extremely well) to get the sound I wanted, overdrive, and distortion. With the Pulze, the pedals are already built-in, and the global EQ options and treble/bass cut on the cabinets allow for fine-tuning!
Dear Leo have you noticed that there may be some problem with the Pulze delays algorithms? Adjusting the tempo either as tempo synced or tapped one never sounds as 1/4, 1/8, etc… - it always produces a delayed sound that doesn’t fit the set tempo - like a combination of a “normal” and dotted delay.

Thank you Leo for your reviews and your presence on youtube, can we use this amp as a pc audio interface? to connect it to pc via usb, and to hear the sound from pc (music, speech, etc) replacing the monitors and play the guitar?
so big questions... how does it take pedals ? I have yet to see any videos of this in use with a pedalboard.. this is also a real shame they have not gone the step further to make this one battery powered and wireless. Can it compete with the Katana Air EX ? The GUI and general user experience seems far superior but I would strongly want some sort of wireless midi foot controller or midi mapping in detail to work with existing controllers.... yes you do have the app and yes you could I suppose run it on a larger tablet but this is hardly the way one practices a real song using a real pedal board. it is good to see other entrants into the mid range of desktop amps... I think you nail it well.. this is something much like the WAZA Air phenomenon that people will actually use much more often than powering up a full rig. Unobtrusive and fast.. shame about the lack of wireless...
HI, good points! I guess it react well with pedals, as the regular Ampero, but I have to do more tests... I don't have the Katana Air, therefore I can't tell how they compare....I do agree also about the new units of this type entering the market....competition is always good...and we have now quite a bit of choice.. Thank you!
Hey Leo! What do you think of this unit compared to the Positive Grid Spark? As far as price this is double the money almost. But what about sound quality and effects/amps/cabs comparison between the 2? Thanks for a great video as alwyas?

@@JoUtan01hey there I bought the mighty space when it came out I wasn’t really blown away on the sound Still a great unit specially that you can hook up a cab to it and it’s loud But inspirational when it comes to tone no I ended up using my mx 5 by passing amps and effects to get my tone it works great that way I ended up selling it I got the pulze instead it will be coming next week sometime It has a lot more options and better sound quality Iam hoping at least I guess I will find out when it arrives Cheers
@@manfredworner8528 I ended up buying the Mighty Space because watching reviews on youtube made me think it sounded great but in reality the amp just sound's ok-ish, also I bought it thinking because the Mighty Space is a digital amp and has the latest more powerful DSP chips when compared to Yamaha THR or Positive Grid Spark therefore must be better sounding, I was wrong, I should have bought the Yamaha THR instead !

Buona sera Innocenzo...Ottima domanda....non sono sicuro, ma credo si rifaccia alla prima generazione, in quanto non vedo nessun riferimento alla "Gen 2" che viene richiamata ad esempio dalla STOMP II o dalla nuova STAGE....quindi deduco sia la prima generazione...ma appunto non sono sicuro al 100% Grazie!
Way too overpriced, and without any extension options (e.g. FX loop, external speaker port). You can just buy a Hotone Ampero One and a pair of powered computer/bookshelf speakers for less. Or even better, a used Fender Mustang II V.2 for less than $200.
Yes, the lack of a looper (or FX loop) is probably a deal breaker for me. Surprised it doesn't have a looper as the Amperos all do, and this has the Ampero brains as far as I know...
Hello, Leo! Thanks for the review! Apart from having more effects, how does Hotone PULZE compare to Nux Mighty Space? I have NMS and I am very happy with it, but I wonder if there are any reasons to "upgrade" to HOTONE? So, far I don't see any, because the things that missing in NMS are not offered by Pulze either. There is no octave down pitch shifter to emulate bass guitar, so I have to use Digitech Drop pedal for that. There is no wah / expression effect that could be controlled by an external BT-midi pedal - I miss a wah effect the most! I have to use an external wah pedal for that. The looper on NMS is too short - 30 seconds only is not enough for even a slow 12 bar blues. On the up side NMS comes with a wired footswitch to control the drums and looper with is a killer feature I use all the time. But when I have to use a wired footswitch, wired wah pedal, wired pitchshifter, it stops being a portable wireless setup. I don't use the wireless adapter that NMS has because it can be glitch and it can't be used with external pedals. So for me an upgrade would have been a desktop amp like with that supports a BT midi controller for wah-type effects and has a built-in bass simulator for guitar with a longer more powerful looper. Perhaps you could do a head-to-head comparison with Nux Mighty Space?
Hi, for sure it would be an interesting comparison...the problem is that sound comparison would be very difficult to do, as I would need to put microphones on the units speakers, and it would be pretty "unfair". These are both very nice units....NUX has some more options....Hotone has some more user friendly user interface...It would be very difficult for me to choose one over the other... Sorry for late answer!
@@LeoGibsonGtr I think the best way to do it is to place either one microphone one meter away from them speakers or two microphones in a stereo pair in the corners of an equilateral triangle and record the sound in the room at equal volume. This should give a very fair assessment of the sound quality. However on features alone I can already see that hotone Pulze doesn't have a battery or a looper with a foot switch. Which means the comparison is not very relevant as these devices are vastly different in their application. Nux can be used for basking or for playing outside, it can be used for practicing with looper, while Hotone cannot. It would still be interesting to see if ihotone octave down bit shifter is able to simulate a bass guitar from electric guitar.

This is a nice looking amp, and as a Yamaha THR user I'm always intrigued to see what comes out in the desktop corner of the market, which is becoming really competitive. One thing that occurs to me about the Pulze is that the touch screen on the Pulze is really cool looking, but isn't it a bit impractical to use when you're sitting down with the amp on a desktop, close to your ear level (which is presumably the point of a desktop amp)? In order to view and use the touchscreen you'd have to keep standing up or tip the amp towards you whereas the physical knobs on the THR are much easier and practical to use 🙄

IMHO class D amps lack thump or punch. It can be loud but the problem is that there is not enough energy stored for transient response compared to a tube amp.
@@LeoGibsonGtr Yeah didn't mean any disrespect. It is kind of costly and doesn't seem to do anything newer or innovative. I'm sure a lot of the cost goes in to the touch screen but I think lately I prefer knobs and stuff and use an app for more precise control. Touch screens are starting to feel gimmicky IMO. Fender Tone Master is one example. Strange for me because I prefer the knobs and buttons on my axefx over a touch screen. I must be weird.
Maybe you should give it a try. I was fixed to my Spark, too, until I heard the THR. Boy did I sell fast 😅. There's a good chance the Pulse has a way better sound, given the subpar sound of the Spark.
