Hello everybody, my name is Leo Gibson and I absolutely love guitar and music. With my channel I would like to share with you: - Demos and reviews of guitar related gear - Guitar techniques - MIDI guitar HW and SW: it is something that open up a lot of possibilities for us guitarists, and for me it is a font of inspiration for composing and improvising - Ear training - Audio recording hardware and software plugins - Videos about my music: I think that RU-vid is a great platform to share music and to complete our music with images and videos - Video and photo gear: I think that nowadays it’s really important for us as guitarists, to be able to shoot a video, because music together with video is much more powerful for promoting ourselves, using all the potentiality that the social network platforms offer us, like you tube, instagram and facebook
So, please subscribe and let me know if there is any argument you would like to talk about!
Grazie!!!
Hey Leo. Nice video. Haven’t seen you do too many videos like this. How does the terraform compare to the Boss MD500 and the Strymon Mobius? Which is your favorite?
This is a very interesting question and I wanted to do a video comparison between the 3....that I never find the time to do......Actually, my opinion varies from time to time... I like the Mobius....even if I'm so used to BOSS effects....that I end up picking up the MD 500... Thank you!
@@LeoGibsonGtr thanks Leo. Everytime I hear the Mobius it just sounds great. The GFI Synestasia sounds great also. But like you say Boss is tried and tested and has its own sound also.
Thank you for a wonderful demo and review as always Leo! This is a fascinating pedal that looks and sounds like it solves a lot of little niggles I have with my setup (headphones/stereo loop/aux in etc). A serious contender indeed. A Swiss Army Knife for Tonex/Dream 65 (among others) users 🙂Thank you.
10:26 or maybe run the delay / reverb into the effects loop of the Amp Academy and use its DI out for long cable runs. Would lose the STEREO signal though I'm guessing.
Gotta say this was by far the most useful video I found for this device. I do my editing on the board because I still can't get the software to work for me. Ugh. Thanks, Leo!
Thank you so much! I suggest the TEControl USB MIDI Breath and Bite Controller 2 Here you can check out more info: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7pob_gEElqY.html
I agree with your comment. Loved the demo song, but the doubler made it sound a bit tinny. Can't wait to see another video on your pedal board. NAM player vs Tone X video later? God bless and rock on 👍😎🎸
What you describe is the result of too short delays. I don’t know this pedal but if delay times are adjustable, choosing something longer could help. It turns out doubling, ADT as it’s always been known, is a very challenging effect to create well. I use some great plugins in Pro Tools (Sonnox Doubler; Waves Abbey Road ADT) and my Eventide H3000 Harmonizer hardware is very well known for doing a great job of it live. Perhaps you’ll like one of the Eventide pedals. Just a suggestion. Always hard pan the outputs whatever you use. They generally do not sum to mono well at all.
@@artysanmobile you'd think, in this digital age, it'd be simple to achieve. I've seen the Mimiq Mini Doubler pedal by TC Electronic - it only costs £78 so I might give it a try.
The only issue I see is the fact that it's a mono input, correct? If I wanted to use TWO preamp pedals like the Ruby 63 and Dream 65, then this pedal will not be able to handle this setup, am I right? or did I overlook something?
Hi, do you want to use two preamps at the same time? If not I would use an A / B Box to select the one you need. Otherwise you put one after the other and you switch on the one you need. The last possibility is to use the return of the effect loop of the END Game to have both active at the same time. Thanks
@@LeoGibsonGtr Thank you! Yes I would like to use a dual amp setup like two Tonex pedals running different amps at the same time. Awesome video and I’m strongly considering this product!
Great Demo! I think comparing this to the Nux MG 400 would be the best comparison video to do. I look forward to more videos with this unit from you! I think this is the best multi FX pedal Nux has released. Most of them sound muddy to me, then the ones that don't, sound way too hot and harsh to my sensitive ears, then this one, just sounds.. like it could pass for a studio recording from the 80's, 90's, 2000's and even early 2010's, all without sounding overly hot or harsh, just high quality and a bit like you plugged into a studio mixing board? Which the equivalent tofay would just be a Universal Audio interface. Of course, its not at UA level of quality, BUT plug this unit into one? And then you're playing with fire.. very very usable fire. At this point what I would do, is plug it into a Universal Audio Apollo 8xp, then a little mixing and a few simple and quick plugins to make the guitar recording come alive some more, finish it off with a solid tape or saturation plugin, and I can see it passing today just fine on a current day funk, jazz, rock or metal album. Plus 48khz, and 32 bit? Pretty darn good and crazy for the price! For once, with the MG 101, guitarists on a budget finally have a fighting chance to make solid stuff and earn a living without having to spend endless hours mixing out the harshness, hotness, and or mud from the cheaper units recordings, or having to pay someone to do it for them. The one thing I wish you could do, is switch around the pedal positions.. the ONE crutch of this unit.. of course you can just add your own pedals before going into the unit, so atleast there is a slight work around, a clutter, but a work around, but hopefully a firmware update will add this feature in like you said, but being a lower end unit.. that update sounds too good to be true.. but IF? It would be THEE MOST solid, professional, and useable, low budget unit available today. So excited to see what else Nux will release in the future!
Are boss using different jacks? I finally have an IR-2 in my hands, but noticed some of the jacks feel loose, like no click/resistance when I plug a cable in. Is this normal? Still working with tones and hoping to integrate in my setup as a preamp.
Nice and complex review. But one Point missing(or maybe i.missed it in your review,if so, i'm sorry),which is a gamechenger for me, i don't know about the pod go, but the boss has zero latency whatsoever switching between the sounds on stage. That us really nice plus the metal build made it for me.Thx for the review👍
Hi Leo like always Your videos are Amazing, Leo with this unit i can use for rec a micro voice too in the interface mode? Im wanna recording my guitar but my voice too, i can do that with only this unit? That will amazing
I have the MX5 and the distortion "issue" is quite real. BUT if you like to play with sounds and usually dosent just use an amp and done, Ive found it to be no issue. I play with some metal guys, and even just a quick downloaded metal rig from someone on the MX5 forum, provided me with sick sound and a base to start from and tweak from. I like the mx5 built quality, the expression pedal and all the cool things I can program with it. Ive had it for half a year, but still feel I keep discover new cool things i can do with it. But the MOST annoying thing is the lack of an app/pc program. The screen on mx5 and way to program is super easy, they´ve tried and succeded quite well with making it accesible. BUT MY GOD GIVE ME AN APP HEADRUSH!!! But I will absolutely always recommend the headrush MX5. It does not emulate 1 to 1, but its powerfull, fun, well built and you can set up different EQs without changeing your riggs or setup, if you find some gigs might need a bit more tweaking. Theres a whole ekstra EQ hiding in the settings that allow you to tweak a bit ekstra, if some rooms you play at, or a venues sound equipment is a bit different.
I have both and appreciate both. But the Helix gets it in almost every category. I do enjoy the GT1000 and think he does have areas that are better. But as far as amp tones and overall the Helix is a tough one to beat
Leo, you are great, I have been a follower of yours since the beginning. I wanted to ask you what you would choose between valeton gp 200lt vs flamma fx 150 and nux mg 400. My budget is tight. I await your response. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you appreciate the channel!!!!! Actually it's very hard for me to provide you with a "black or white" suggestion, actually not knowing very well your needs and your taste. I would say that if many is an issue, you can also check out the NUX MG 101. On the other hand, all the devices you are mentioning are nice....of course the GP 200 has 8 foot switches...therefore if you need 8 FS...that's the way to go. Thank you once again!

@@LeoGibsonGtr I've noticed that I haven't been able to find a video, where you have taken a look at the Walrus Audio ACS1. That could be a great video as the unit sounds really good from the videos I've seen. Especially since it received the Firmware update. It can actually run dual amps and cabinets which is pretty unique.
Because the Iridium offers extra drive compared to the original amp, as stated in the user manual: "our model has some additional gain on tap, giving you access to custom hot-rodded Plexi high gain tones."
Thanks again Leo. Great work. Which of these smaller amp in a box pedals would you say is overall the best? Strymon iridium? Modeling units not capture.
Hi, maybe you can check out these video, where there are the best ones compared (in my opinion): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C9J15uOhzzE.html Thanks!
The parallel paths in Ampero work 2 + 2 + 2. There are 6 blocks in 2 lines making 12 in total. Therefore, in the upper line you can only put 2 blocks before double amps and 2 blocks after them. Boss GX100 is much more versatile in this.
