When it comes to defining the Hotone Soul Press 2, there's SO MUCH to cover. It's a Wah Pedal, a Volume Pedal, a Wah/Volume Pedal, and an Expression Pedal all rolled into one. I thought the original Soul Press was an ok product, but this is a major upgrade, as it includes more features than the original and has a slightly larger footprint to accommodate feet of all sizes. It even includes an isolated output specifically to connect a tuner without interfering in the signal path.

Great demo man! I looked at the earlier version last year and liked that but never bought it. This is even better!!!! Now I'm glad I didn't buy version 1.

Hola estimado gran video y como siempre gran contenido. Me compré la ampero II stombox y junto a ella un soul press 2 para poder usar de pedal de expresión. El problema es que cada vez que quiero calibrar el pedal en la stombox me da error, dejando los parámetros predeterminados entre 0 y 30 y luego nuevamente en 0. Quería consultar si pudiste calibrar el soul press 2 en la stombox de hotone. Saludos estimado y espero que le vaya muy bien en todo.

How do you use it as an expression pedal if it's also always a volume or wah? No review want's to cover that it seems. But I am curious.

i think that if you u use it as exp pedal the vol and wah turns off

The one thing that is rarely mentioned in reviews of these type of combo volume/wah pedals is where you put it in the signal chain. If using as a wah common practice is at the beginning of the chain, but when engaging the volume mode you end up affecting the dirt pedals if using them, where typically many people use a volume pedal after dirt and pre-delay. I’d love to see a demo of one of these used in a pedalboard scenario as a volume/wah placed in different points in the chain.

For live use, you're right. For the Studio, this is versatile as you can change the chain, I'd say.

so if I understand you correctly, in wah/vol mode, the toe button switches between Volume and wah use. Correct? My signal runs from a Line 6 G70 wireless out to a Tech 21 fly rig then out to the house system. I guess this would go between the wireless floor output unit and the Tech 21 fly rig correct? The tuner out on the pedal likely wouldn't have any value here correct? The G70 has a tuner feature built into it when you hold the button down so I think I would just go out of the line 6 receiver into the fly rig.

Cool pedal. Do you know if they make TONE PACKS for the Ampero II that are named after actual songs- not just cabs and amps? I know they do for units like the FM3 and Line 6.

Did you experience any hissing sounds in Wah mode when in toe position? I've had a CryBaby wah a while ago and it was unplayable at about 90-100% at toe position, and for that reason I had to return it and look for another wah. This pedal seems great (especially because I wanted to use the exp mode as well), but don't want to have the hiss again :/

Didn't remember hearing any obvious hiss problems. But do keep in mind that a Wah is essentially an EQ sweep so hiss is going to happen one way or another.

@@ThePedalGuy I figured, as I've never heard of an EXP Pedal with tap-capabilities. I'm hoping the SoulPress2 will be compatible with my MS-3 to go into there in order to effect my Strymons that are connected to the MS3 via midi. Thanks!

People sometimes say I don't have much room on my board so I'm getting a mini volume/ wah pedal! The thing is that your big foot has to go on there so anything above said pedal is going to be affected by your foot sticking over the front. I know this from experience you might as well get a full sized one.

how would these be for bass? i know different guitar pedals you loose bottom end have you tried this with bass?

Is it possible to place the Soul Press 2 on a (transformer based) power supply? Or will this cause hum? The inductor in the old red Soul Press wasn't shielded at all...

@@javiercisternasnajle you can add it as a standalone wah pedal at the beginning, and then from its output connect it to the helix's input. the other option is connecting through the send/return thinking as if it is an effect pedal. if you want to use the wah effects loaded withing the helix processors, then you can also use the soulpress 2 as an expression pedal to control the effect level in the helix signal chain. it is a very versatile pedal, I hope in the future it will have a switch-less design as well.
