@@johnsweda2999 Good point. Let's start with firing all the foreign Judges in Hong Kong Court. Hong Kong wanted to be independent from Britain but the British didn't give a f**k. So why should China let them be independent.
There is one critical incident that wasn't being covered in this video. In Hong Kong (HK), they call it the "721 terrorist attack". Basically what happened was that at the night of 21st July 2019, gangsters showed up and beat everyone in Yuen Long Station indiscriminately, not just protestors, but also reporters, pregnant lady etc. The worst part about this incident was that police did not make any arrest to the gangsters when they arrived at the scene, and there was numerous news clip showing the police were communicating with the gangsters and tapping their shoulders in a friendly manner. This was the point when Hong Kong people viewed Hong Kong police as the same as those gangsters, and this pushed Hong Kong people's hatred against these cops to a whole new level. This incident also led to the escalation of violence, as shown in the protest one week after the "721 terrorist attack", where the first Molotov was being thrown in Hong Kong.
Michael Alexander this is very simplified because the situation is very complex, but basically they had an agreement with mainland China, yes they were to join China at a certain time, but they also had agreed upon a list of numbers that told how many of which types of senators that were to be in the senate each year. Basically they have senators that are democratically elected and senators that are put in place by the biggest companies in Hong Kong (these are overwhelmingly pro Mainland), and each year there were supposed to be more democratically elected senators. However the government is FAR behind on following this quota, and now the citizens feel like they don’t have a say in what happens, and they don’t have the government they were supposed to have that could aid them in coming to a new agreement with mainland China.
Michael Alexander but please don’t ask me, I’m not an expert, and there are plenty of good stories done by talented journalists, and statistics on the protests and numbers on what is actually going on inside the senate with regards to those senators. Also keep in mind that most Americans documentaries are not including ALL the info because America is in favour of mainland China
@@JohnPorsbjerg I agree. People are on the Chinese governments side. This sounds like China fight off the influence of China, wasn't Hong Kong part of China snatched away by the Great Britain during two Opium Wars (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Opium_War) that forced China to trade gold and silver for Rothschild Opium, 150 years ago?

@@somaliforeheadwarrior9721 I don't know about that. The Soviet Union collapsed because they over-extended themselves trying to compete against the US. China is doing some very dodgy stuff with their economy while pouring billions into places like Africa. It can no longer keep the iron grip on media that it used to because of the internet. Many cities, especially in the south, are now more capitalist than democratic in the way the citizens act. China may look like a monolith from the outside, much like the Soviet Union did, but it is made up from a wide variety of diverse people, and those differences persist despite the best efforts of the communist government to wipe them out. Meanwhile it is antagonising India, and Japan, and S Korea, and the US, and Europe and even the African countries that it is trying to get a toe-hold in.
The odd part is the increase in brutality from both sides. They both come from different reasons and regardless who started it, this will be difficult to end. I wish to know what the clear end goal is of the organizers of the protests, so that I’ll understand them better. No means are justified. However it’s clear that this is the only way some effort will be noticed by the government and they might try to fix the situation. Violence breads violence and its clear that a new governmental approach is needed.
@@MK-jw9xk The protestors want Hong Kong to rid itself of it's Chinese parent. However, it's strange to see how we view the HK rioters as heroes, then we turn and say that the US rioters are taking it too far. Both will end in death, and I cannot see the goal of the protestors being reached. As soon as the HK government lose control they will open the border to China and Tiananmen Square will pale in comparison.
The policeman had a serious head wound and shot to survive - all of this mayhem needs to stop from all sides. Look at the last minutes - those officers could've been burned alive in their car.

The Hong Kong protestors are inspiring. The situation is horrible, but seeing their courage gives me hope. They’re even helping BLM protestors here by sharing tactics and what gear to wear for protection. Wonderful people, and I dearly hope their courage holds out and their freedom isn’t lost.
? Obviously, the BLM protests haven’t been going on as long. Hong Kong has been fighting for over a year almost weekly, so they’ve been forced to come up with creative ways to fight. My point remains, however, that multiple Hong Kong citizens have shared what protestors there are doing in hopes that it will help the protestors here. While the organization here is far from being what it is in Hong Kong, some tactics have started being used, like the umbrella shields, protective clothing, makeshift shields (in some cases), and putting out or defecting tear gas. Again, let me reiterate. The protests here are not even close to being on the same level as Hong Kong (yet), however some tactics have been shared and are being used.
Beijing would love to lure us into a war so it could get someone to reduce their population for them and blame the deaths on someone else. They already look pretty silly with the amount of blood they already have on their hands.

Actually no, I am from HK, and many shops are the pro-protesters side that sells the gear very cheap since most frontliners are teens who can't afford expensive stuff. Even some older people who call themselves "parents" are willing to donate the gear to teens
And I was out here thinking my life sucks because I have no air corn while these guys can't even get on the train without getting hit. That poor family.
"in a fight no one wins, the winner is just the guys who walks away with less injury" The people face a lot of problems the police force are getting put into life or death stands when they make a misstep and the protesters get shot in the fear of the injured whom which just become icons for more violence from both sides... Pride of the leaders just keep this cycle going not daring admitting wrong doing and thousands die and bleed for them and because of them.
That bit half way in where that police man drew his gun and everyone backed off. Like the amount of influence a single event like that had he shot someone could have made the protests gone from bad to batshit insane. Same thing happened in my country (Viet Nam) too. The Chinese party wanted to sign a contract with our government, basically saying their citizens will be allowed to cross the border and live in the 3 metropolitan districts *no visa needed* for 99 years (as in they can come and go as if it's their own country). We had protested for 1 week until everyone stopped appearing and it was never mentioned. My guess is they told our police to come and arrest the leading protesters at night and forcefully send anyone that participated to military service. They stole our 2 main islands (Truong Sa and Hoang Sa) that belonged to us for generations, and sent warships to attack and fishermen that trespass a few years back. People hating Donald Trump but to me, he's the only one who dared to stand up against China for so long.
