@@assassinprohd4539Um dude, John replied to somebody called Pinoy Central, that's clearly meaning Filipino. And he or she is right, what Amber sang is the series finale ending song. To me, season finale means there's gonna be another batch of episodes coming, they used series since it's literally the end of a series (House M. D. in particular).
It's been 13 years since I first saw this episode, and this clip, even in complete isolation still sends shivers up my spine. Anne Dudek's rendition of the song coupled with the background music keeps it from ever not being unsettling.
Hallucination Amber was perfect. She illustrated the deeper, darker, less playful side of House's addiction and mental health in a way that drove it home for the viewers.
I actually preferred the character of Amber as the evil manifestation of House’s subconscious instead of as Cut-throat Bitch. She was unhinged, playful and malevolent. Well done Anne Dudek.
Wasn't it that because she was a Cut Throat Bitch that made House associate her that way and so she manifested as malevolent in his mind? There was a reason she got that nickname during the competition for the job, especially for the stuff she pulled on Thirteen
Initially, I found Amber truly despicable. But the relationship with Wilson somehow circumvented all her insecurities and her personality started to improve rapidly She's the kind of girl that can grow on you
@@ArgonTheAwareI'm pretty sure the two got together because of their respective personalities. Amber always got what she wanted no matter what, and Wilson is perfectly happy making sure other people are happy. They were completely transparent to each other about this the whole time, and the last episode she was alive had a subplot about Amber "manipulating" Wilson to be more selfish because he needed to stop playing martyr so much and both ended up ok with this
The last couple episodes of season 5 have to be my favourite, they are actually kind of sad but I really enjoyed them. The tone and everything about them

Did anybody else get a David Lynch 'Twin Peaks' type vibe whilst watching this scene.I had tingles all over when you first hear Amber sing,then see her pale ghostly casper-the-lonely-ghost-colour-type body and then the evil chuckle whilst it slows pans to her and then the creepy music shows the look of absolute shock on House's face. One of the creepiest sequences I've seen on a tv show.
Think about the actual lyrics: It's all about how he should enjoy himself while he still can because the Vicodin has already driven him past the brink. He is still in "the pink" because he hasn't gone completely mad yet. Beautiful symbolism.

i absolutely loved this scene. it’s on par with the gravity scene in cane and able for me the end of s5-the last 3 eps specifically-were literally so so good ughhh
Everything about this scene is hauntingly amazing. The lighting, the setting, the creepy way Amber sings, how she smiles and giggles when House realizes he hallucinating. He calling Wilson like he tried before amber’s death. It legit freaked me out the first time, I had to watch something else 😂

Holy shit, because of this video I realized that the song she sings, "Enjoy yourself", is the song of the last scene in the whole series, where House and Wilson travel together because of Wilson's cancer
"wilson, come get me" anyone notice that he told wilson to come get him, but he was on the phone with foreman? did he think he was on the phone with wilson the whole time?
It was a callback to how Amber died in the first place. House was drunk at a bar and needed a ride so he called Wilson as noted in House's Head & Wilson's Heart. Hallucinating Amber while in a bar brought House back to the last time he saw her in one, aka those episodes.
You see him slowly closing the phone ending the call with Foreman as he realises he's still having hallucinations, also it appears he's just made a call on his phone before he says "Wilson come get me". I'd imagine Wilson is definitely on speed dial for House (can't think of anyone else he'd actually call for that matter 😂) so could easily dial him without even looking at his phone.
It's odd how Amber who was always called a Cutthroat bitch because she was very eager to do anything to advance ahead yet at the end she died a decent person. And then she ended up coming back haunting house. Basically she returned in the form of houses painkiller addiction

I find it interesting that when house meets amber he sees her as a female him but when she died house had nothing to base her character off of other than she was like him so when his mental state gets worse he imagines amber becoming more and more unhinged.
(SEASON 8 LAST EPISODE SPOILER) Amber sings the same song that plays at the end of that episode. Could be hinting at the fact that Wilson was hallucinating the bike ride into the sun with House and that House actually died in the building? Songs that they played in the show usually have some sort of significance, especially the songs that are played time and time again in different episodes.
No, Take it as its face value. Wilson was dying and the song was a simple reminder to “enjoy yourself”. House and Wilson we’re going to go enjoy themselves for the remainder of whatever time Wilson had left. Don’t over analyze it; it’s not the Sopranos.
@@ass2278 If you’re going to put it forward as a theory then make sure it’s a good one. I would advise you to listen to the actual song. Not the one from Amber singing it but the actual song at the end of House by Louis Prima. It’s got a fast, upbeat, “swing” tempo. It’s meant to close out the series by saying that House and Wilson are off to enjoy.
