I had no idea there was so much variation and customization between balls other than weight, material, and hole placement. It's all very interesting for sure. I found a purple Columbia 300 WD at a thrift shop the other day and while it feels a little heavier than what I normally choose out of the house balls, the finger placement seems like it was drilled for someone with similar sized hands. It's also in far better condition than most house balls for obvious reasons. I'm curious to see how it actually reacts on the lanes and if I lucked out finding something right for me.
I’m looking to get my first own bowling ball and I’m not sure what to get. I’m not on a league or anything but I’ve been going bowling a lot and might join one in the future.
@@polarbear4696 got a hustle by roto grip. My boyfriend picked it out for me, I don’t know much about bowling but I’ve still been trying to get used to the ball since it’s the only ball I’ve ever used besides the house ones and it hooks more than what I’m used to.
A house ball can hook but you gotta really try to make it hook. I can make it hook really well without my thumb but custom reactive ball is much easier
I actually managed to bowl a 141 and a 158 with a house ball. I was able to spin it by not using the thumb hole, but I could only manage shallow hooks to get high scores.
I can hook a house ball like crazy! I use 2 hands and send a 6lb house ball down at 18mph and get a strike. I usually use a 10-13 lb but thought I’d try a lighter ball. I can hook any ball great
So my problem is that even with house balls I hook like crazy. If the lanes aren’t oiled very well, I can put what I think is little spin and it will shoot hard left hitting the 2 or 4 pin. I’ve been wanting to get my own ball, and if they hook more than house balls, I’d be hitting the gutter with what I consider “minimal spin”
Talk with the proshop. Balls come in different strengths from weak to strong and the drilling layout can also make a ball weaker or stronger. They should be able to help you choose a ball that will work well for you.
So I’ve very new to bowling and wanted a ball that can hook would I want tips or would I want the ball that like the one you drilled in the video or are they the same
@@TerryBollea1 been bowling quite bad since the league started a few months ago but starting to pick up my games. Hopefully, I can stay consistent and try to break into the 600s series
yo whaaaat! i use a house ball and i curve it two handed really well, either this guy does not know how to rotate the ball, or he purposely rotated it wrong... just saying
thank you, and btw i was not trying to be rude, and if you thought i was then i'm really sorry, i was just confused that you,re ball never really hooked, and it usually doe's for me. also, i had no idea a house ball could have a core so i guess thanks. it was probably just my perspective.
